Politics / Re: 79.6% Students Fails Again In Waec Exams by chiogo(f): 2:39am On Jan 11, 2011
I remember taking junior WAEC in naija or barely. . .hmph, didn't even know how I did, poorly I suppose. . . never got to see my scores, not like I needed 'em. Again, dislike standardized tests.

Reading the conversation between fstranger and SEFAGO, I'm thinking could it be the age factor?  grin I mean you guys were so young, the average American is at least 16 when they take the SAT, I was probably younger when I took mine though since I started school in Naija. Maybe kids should mature a bit before all the cramming that the Nigerian education entails is thrust upon them. Maybe they're not as smart/knowledgeable at that age as they would be if they were a couple years older. This is just like a "psychoanalysis", I'm probably wrong. lol

In naija, I generally sucked at math but as I've gotten older, I even like it. . .sometimes  grin Well, the American education system also helps, teachers are actually patient and take time after school to explain course materials to you. So, I guess it still boils down to the teachers, most naija teachers don't show a personal interest in helping students learn. Their job ends with the school bell since many are already underpaid. What do you expect from the students?

Hmm, not a big fan of standardized tests. Personally don't believe it fully portrays understanding of a subject.
But failing it is something else, do people really fail WAEC and co.? or do they just get really low scores? I know one can't necessarily fail the SAT but everyone knows anything below 1000 is just piss-poor.

Maybe they should revise how the tests are administered? Naija's teaching method is all about cramming anyway and copying a bunch of notes. The so-called teachers need to be qualified before getting the job in the first place.

Romance / Re: Do Some Black Men Treat White Women With More Respect Than Black Women? by chiogo(f): 8:03pm On Jan 06, 2011
Of course.
We also hear of these stories where a successful black man would leave a black woman who stayed with him through the struggle to make it with the excuse that they no longer connected and it was best to go separate ways although he appreciates all she did for him. They sometimes even give the women some money as compensation for everything. Who do these men usually end up with afterwards? well, you know. But hey, that's Black people for you. Just looking at slavery alone, you'd see how many black folks learned absolutely nothing from it.

All boils down to inferiority complex, which can be attributed to slavery, in my opinion. Internalized oppression is the worst form of oppression when you begin to accept that you or your type don't deserve better.

I'm all for being with whoever matches your tastes/preferences, there's no use being in a forced relationship. But that doesn't negate the fact that many Black men abroad use this preference excuse to do very stupid things.

LOL, who's 'we'? The dude is Naija, there's no ploy  grin Some of the other videos posted by rapjunkie didn't have all the 'nigga' stuff but crazy wackness in display. He even has a speech impediment - "I love you. . .baby. . .baby. . baby" lmao! Great comic relief though.

Are you sure you're a woman? undecided Does vaginal discharge ring a bell? undecided
I was gonna ask the same thing. The question is, has she reached puberty?

HTown Eve:

  embarassed angry sad shocked

Yep she is a woman.  Mamagee is correct.  Any abnormal/plenty discharge is a sign of infection.  Some females are very sensitive down there and things like panties, pads, dongs  grin etc can cause irritation or infection.   Many of our girls don't go for check ups and just assume that all discharges are normal.   Just like not all discharges are normal for guys as well.  lipsrsealed

Like I mentioned before; woman are most wet some days of the month (the normal love juice  tongue).    Anything outside that is off and needs to be checked or fixed by antibiotics.  It is no big deal.  kiss
Umm, the point is that there's still some form of discharge. . . . and it's usually sticky. I really don't know if you people are actually females because this is common knowledge. I'm pretty sure any female that has reached the age of puberty has whitish secretions during ovulation. It could be white/creamish in color, that's mostly how you know it's normal, maybe other colors are abnormal but I wouldn't know about quantity determining that.

cap28:

This type of scenario is quite common where the nigerian man seeks to find a servant as opposed to a soul mate or a door mat as opposed to an equal.  It worked for our parents and our grand parents becuase they lived in a different era, one in which men were the main  breadwinners whereas women were expected to bear children and look after the home and the man, now things have changed very few families in the west and nigeria can function on just one salary, as a result women are now contributing towards the upkeep of the home , if a woman makes as much money or even more than her man, it stands to reason that she will not be willing to adopt a docile and passive attitude , both parties need to work more as a unit with less rigidity assigned to their respective roles.

Bringing a wife from nigeria because you think she will be more submissive than a western oriented woman is wishful thinking.   The majority of women with a healthy dose of self esteem do not want to be treated like a door mat, the only reason why the ones in nigeria put up with it is because they have no choice, this is why these same women switch from being docile and submissive doormats to assertive, independent minded women the minute they start earning their own money in the west.

Perhaps both parties need to focus on showing each other mutual respect instead of trying to dominate each other, if both parties can achieve this then the marriage will work irrespective of where it occurs.

*applauds* You're absolutely right! I wish people would listen.

@chiogo

You see? that´s where you miss my point again as an arrogant, wrongly adopting western mentality nigerian woman! I´ve seen it all so you can´t lecture me anything, and infact we dated for 4<rs before we married so it makes it 11yrs altogether.  first of all, I mantain the head of the family in my house "my word & decision is final" I mantain my african way of being a husband & father with very strong character & no nonsense mentality (which I pass on to our kids) this doesn´t have anything to do with her income sister. I have my income too, infact I run my own company here in Munich,Brussels & Nigeria (I can give you details if you want)  So don´t mistake earning more with being lazy or sitting at home. The problem with many of you is that, you adopt wrongly, and you don´t earn as much, have more than the oyibo women themselves anyway but you are too arrogant & not smart enough to be able to balance family with career & success. And you lose who your minds after seeing some few thousands!! like most intelligent, reasonable, decent and family oriented women, my wife wants a MAN as husband not a puppet smiley
Umm, no one asked for your life story and if you had noticed earlier, I said "good for you". Your case is obviously different from what we're discussing here. My post was mostly in response to the remarks you made about Nigerian women. It's ok to marry a White woman or whoever you're compatible with but using that as a reason to feel you can insult Nigerian women is just plain silly, which is something I've noticed about Nigerian men who marry White women. You haven't won a trophy or anything, people have been marrying foreigners for a while now. I'm happy for you really but of course, you don't speak for every Nigerian man. There are still happily married Nigerian couples out there. But I agree that one should marry who they desire regardless of peer pressure/societal influence. Obviously, I made the "lazy" comment in a general tone, was not specifically referring to you. I'm sure you know lazy Nigerians exist abroad.
Family / Re: I Regret Bringing My Wife Abroad by chiogo(f): 10:28pm On Jan 05, 2011
haha, this thread has turned into something else. Chai, Nigerians got issues sha.  grin
But I still want a Nigerian for marriage. Crazy, right?  tongue

Jenifa_:

For me, I cannot in a lifetime picture myself married to a nigerian person who grew up his entire life in Nigeria. I puke in my mouth a little at the mere thought of it. Has to be someone born here (any race) or came here at a younger age. preteen or early teen at most (also any race).
LOL, I always say that too but there are exceptions. Not all of 'em are prehistoric, control freaks. You might even find some with the character you're avoiding here in the States. I think Naija people are all the same, home and abroad. . .if you can see thru some of the hypocrisy  cheesy

One just needs to find someone they're on a common ground with, not someone you raised from rags to riches, same mind-set, especially not marry through some arrangement(although, not all of them are failures), actually get to know the person for a while before marriage, and definitely not keep a long-distance relationship before marriage.

Some do maltreat their housemaids though. sad You nust have heard of that. undecided
Of course. . .but that's another issue entirely. They can't even try that in America, housemaids are non-existent esp. live-in ones. But it makes more sense since they aren't romantically involved with the housemaid, not that the treatment is any less cruel. But I can't get my head around why a man would claim to love his wife and wish for her to not have a say, totally absurd.

Bandit C.:

Thank you so much Bro. At least you know where i am coming from. I can tell you this, i have this thing with getting women, even while i was still a yound lad fresh out of secondary school, i was still bagging chicks, hate to say this but even ones who use to come to see my sisters (i have 4 girls before me). Here in Europe, it is even worse, because you rarely need anything to woo chicks up here but my problem lies in the fact that

1) I am really close to my mom (being the last child out of cool and enjoys doing whatever she advices me since she has never given me an advice that didn't turn out well before. She always chats with me, even as a young kid about my core naija wife and my little son/ daughter visiting her.

2) I am really hard to move when it comes to girls and their swagger, i just don't know why. If i don't not find a girl attractive now, it wouldn't change after downing 6 glasses of Hennesy and Red bull. Could be because of my many encounters with girls in my lifetime.

3) I am easily bored by white women and cannot picture myself getting married for life to any. Maybe it could be because of how unstable and unpredictable they are.

4) It is difficult, up here to find a black and white couple, whose marriage made it into the middle ages of 45, 50 and up.

5) I would never want to divorce any woman i tell ''i do'' today unless she opts for it because i want a happy home.

6) I have a weakness for ''naija chicks'' that i always see in Nigeria whenever i trave for example. Not saying that there ain't those type here but believe me Bro, they are quite difficult to find.

Contrary to what most might think here, i am a liberal type and believe in individualism and would never marry a woman because i believe she is naive, can be controlled and wouldn't know her rights, No. I would rather a well educated wife who can stand on her own and make decisions she finds appropriate without involving me so the ''chauvinist'' case does not apply to me.

But the thing is, i would like to marry a chick ''from Naija'' simple.
Aww, that's cute.

The rich ones, right? Blame that on the Nigerian government. Poverty is wide-spread in the country and the few who are well-to-do use their power to lord over the less privileged. Nigerians are generally arrogant anyway  grin Blame that one on the genes.

Yes, I don't believe in the theory of opposites attracting. Well, the only opposites who I know attract each other are men and women. Likes attract!!

But how are naija women control freaks? I don't see them in the news killing their husbands though.

@janifer,

I think your advise for Nigerian men should be WHITE WOMEN ARE A MILLION TIMES BETTER THAN YOU grin at least they´re used to the "human rights" thing and they have the original western mentality (i mean it´s theirs) not like you African women who copy/adopt wrongly. I have been married to a white German for 7 years, she earns twice much as I do, and her parents own companies here in Germany & all over the world (so u know her background) my sister, she respects me more than anybody I´ve ever known. So, the best thing for us Nigerian men is to look beyond the skin color and actualy marry whoever will be a true wife to us. worried if she´ll move back to nija with you later if you want to return?? YES SHE WILL, if you settle yourself properly back home (build a nice home & business in naija)  & show her & your kids they´re your WIFE & KIDS. I tell you that they LOVE our country/weather.
Good for you!
The derogatory remarks towards naija women = unnecessary. Well, isn't that usually the case with your type? Live and let live.
How is it 'wrongly adopting' if you actually move to the said western country? You can't pick and choose what laws of the country to live by, especially only the ones that favor you. If she's working several hours, which is a western lifestyle and bringing home much of the cheddar, there has to be some compromise not your typical traditional "I am the head regardless of whether I'm working or lazying my a/s/s at home while you toil all day". Compromise, I suppose, is also a western thing. Figures!

You're right in some ways, marry who you want regardless of skin color. That way, less naija women would be butchered by control freaks. Everybody is happy.  smiley
