Politics / Re: 79.6% Students Fails Again In Waec Exams by chiogo(f): 2:39am On Jan 11, 2011 |
I remember taking junior WAEC in naija or barely. . .hmph, didn't even know how I did, poorly I suppose. . . never got to see my scores, not like I needed 'em. Again, dislike standardized tests. Reading the conversation between fstranger and SEFAGO, I'm thinking could it be the age factor? I mean you guys were so young, the average American is at least 16 when they take the SAT, I was probably younger when I took mine though since I started school in Naija. Maybe kids should mature a bit before all the cramming that the Nigerian education entails is thrust upon them. Maybe they're not as smart/knowledgeable at that age as they would be if they were a couple years older. This is just like a "psychoanalysis", I'm probably wrong. lol In naija, I generally sucked at math but as I've gotten older, I even like it. . .sometimes Well, the American education system also helps, teachers are actually patient and take time after school to explain course materials to you. So, I guess it still boils down to the teachers, most naija teachers don't show a personal interest in helping students learn. Their job ends with the school bell since many are already underpaid. What do you expect from the students? |

Hmm, not a big fan of standardized tests. Personally don't believe it fully portrays understanding of a subject. But failing it is something else, do people really fail WAEC and co.? or do they just get really low scores? I know one can't necessarily fail the SAT but everyone knows anything below 1000 is just piss-poor. Maybe they should revise how the tests are administered? Naija's teaching method is all about cramming anyway and copying a bunch of notes. The so-called teachers need to be qualified before getting the job in the first place. |

2M naira per month? May I ask what your profession is? I doubt you could earn that much in this new Nigeria. |
Romance / Re: Do Some Black Men Treat White Women With More Respect Than Black Women? by chiogo(f): 8:03pm On Jan 06, 2011 |
Of course. We also hear of these stories where a successful black man would leave a black woman who stayed with him through the struggle to make it with the excuse that they no longer connected and it was best to go separate ways although he appreciates all she did for him. They sometimes even give the women some money as compensation for everything. Who do these men usually end up with afterwards? well, you know. But hey, that's Black people for you. Just looking at slavery alone, you'd see how many black folks learned absolutely nothing from it. All boils down to inferiority complex, which can be attributed to slavery, in my opinion. Internalized oppression is the worst form of oppression when you begin to accept that you or your type don't deserve better. I'm all for being with whoever matches your tastes/preferences, there's no use being in a forced relationship. But that doesn't negate the fact that many Black men abroad use this preference excuse to do very stupid things. |

ElRazur:LOL, who's 'we'? The dude is Naija, there's no ploy Some of the other videos posted by rapjunkie didn't have all the 'nigga' stuff but crazy wackness in display. He even has a speech impediment - "I love you. . .baby. . .baby. . baby" lmao! Great comic relief though. rapjunkie:LMFAO!! That had my ribs hurting. I guess he wasted no time in showing us his talent. Funny how he described when he first started and how ppl discouraged him, he sounded like he's actually made it. Like a success story! This man is talented though! Just too funny. |
Romance / Re: Can You Leave Home Without Wearing Pants? (underpants) by chiogo(f): 6:40pm On Jan 06, 2011 |
Missy ★ B:I was gonna ask the same thing. The question is, has she reached puberty? HTown Eve:Umm, the point is that there's still some form of discharge. . . . and it's usually sticky. I really don't know if you people are actually females because this is common knowledge. I'm pretty sure any female that has reached the age of puberty has whitish secretions during ovulation. It could be white/creamish in color, that's mostly how you know it's normal, maybe other colors are abnormal but I wouldn't know about quantity determining that. |

Bavarian:Umm, no one asked for your life story and if you had noticed earlier, I said "good for you". Your case is obviously different from what we're discussing here. My post was mostly in response to the remarks you made about Nigerian women. It's ok to marry a White woman or whoever you're compatible with but using that as a reason to feel you can insult Nigerian women is just plain silly, which is something I've noticed about Nigerian men who marry White women. You haven't won a trophy or anything, people have been marrying foreigners for a while now. I'm happy for you really but of course, you don't speak for every Nigerian man. There are still happily married Nigerian couples out there. But I agree that one should marry who they desire regardless of peer pressure/societal influence. Obviously, I made the "lazy" comment in a general tone, was not specifically referring to you. I'm sure you know lazy Nigerians exist abroad. |
Family / Re: I Regret Bringing My Wife Abroad by chiogo(f): 10:28pm On Jan 05, 2011 |
haha, this thread has turned into something else. Chai, Nigerians got issues sha. But I still want a Nigerian for marriage. Crazy, right? Jenifa_:LOL, I always say that too but there are exceptions. Not all of 'em are prehistoric, control freaks. You might even find some with the character you're avoiding here in the States. I think Naija people are all the same, home and abroad. . .if you can see thru some of the hypocrisy One just needs to find someone they're on a common ground with, not someone you raised from rags to riches, same mind-set, especially not marry through some arrangement(although, not all of them are failures), actually get to know the person for a while before marriage, and definitely not keep a long-distance relationship before marriage. |

buzugee:Hmph, you had a crazy Nigerian girlfriend. But that's all your evidence? |
Family / Re: I Regret Bringing My Wife Abroad by chiogo(f): 9:36pm On Jan 05, 2011 |
tensor777:Of course. . .but that's another issue entirely. They can't even try that in America, housemaids are non-existent esp. live-in ones. But it makes more sense since they aren't romantically involved with the housemaid, not that the treatment is any less cruel. But I can't get my head around why a man would claim to love his wife and wish for her to not have a say, totally absurd. Bandit C.:Aww, that's cute. buzugee:The rich ones, right? Blame that on the Nigerian government. Poverty is wide-spread in the country and the few who are well-to-do use their power to lord over the less privileged. Nigerians are generally arrogant anyway Blame that one on the genes. |
Family / Re: I Regret Bringing My Wife Abroad by chiogo(f): 9:20pm On Jan 05, 2011 |
buzugee:Yes, I don't believe in the theory of opposites attracting. Well, the only opposites who I know attract each other are men and women. Likes attract!! But how are naija women control freaks? I don't see them in the news killing their husbands though. |

Bavarian:Good for you! The derogatory remarks towards naija women = unnecessary. Well, isn't that usually the case with your type? Live and let live. How is it 'wrongly adopting' if you actually move to the said western country? You can't pick and choose what laws of the country to live by, especially only the ones that favor you. If she's working several hours, which is a western lifestyle and bringing home much of the cheddar, there has to be some compromise not your typical traditional "I am the head regardless of whether I'm working or lazying my a/s/s at home while you toil all day". Compromise, I suppose, is also a western thing. Figures! You're right in some ways, marry who you want regardless of skin color. That way, less naija women would be butchered by control freaks. Everybody is happy. |

^ "What y'all niggas saying? uh huh niggas" CLASSIC!!! These people are so high, I'm pretty sure they're not all there, like mentally. I mean this dude actually takes himself seriously, in the interview he claimed the music thing started off as a joke. Aaah!! I blame the Nigerian government completely for this. |
