IT IS FUNNY BECAUSE I CAN REMEMBER TELLING A FRIEND WHO IS GOING TO SCHOOL BEFORE COMING TO AMERICA TO HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR ATLEAST A SEMESTER WITHOUT WORKING; HE LAUGHED AND TOLD ME SINCE I SURVIVED HE HIS GOING TO SURVIVE, FUNNY ENOUGH AFTER 2 MONTHS HE ENDED UP BEEN HOMELESS. LIFE IS SWEET IN AMERICA ONLY IF YOU HAVE MONEY, YOUR FAMILY IS JUST YOU AND YOU ONLY. NO HELP OR WHAT SO EVER. POLICE SEE YOU ON THE STREET AND THEY FEEL YOU ARE ALWAYS GUILTY BECAUSE OF YOUR BLACK SKIN, NOT TO TALK OF HOW PEOPLE MAKE FUN OF YOUR ACCENT, BUT IS AN EXPERIENCE I THINK EVERYONE SHOULD HAVE ONCE IN A LIFE TIME. @Funmi the only way u can work is wen u register with the school u are goin to attend den u can look for jobs on campus and its only a 20hr job for 8.25per hr

thats in IL with other states i think the minimum wage is even lesser so its better u have enuf financial backup before u enter Usa, becos getting job outside

yankison said if u have money for flight he can survive in America that i shud not discourage him, becos i survived in America He too will survive its so funny.

so all am saying is carry as enuf as u can atleast for first semster then work during the summer 40hrs full time then u shud be fine and also apply for GA if u are a graduate student...my 2cents!!!
