As usual, i got to the Lagos embassy (the same embassy i did my 1st interview) @ about 5:30am but i met people fewer than 50 & eventually not as many as my previous interview. Was interviewed by a young dude. Lets begin! Me-Good morning sir Vo-Good morning & how are you doing Me-Fine Vo-Please, pass your documents Me-(I did just that) Vo-Which School are you going to? Me-XYZ UNIVERSITY Vo-What course? Me-MBA Vo-What is your highest degree? Me-Bachelor of Science In Business Administration and minor concentration in MIS Vo-Which other schools did you apply to? Me- 4 in US, 1 in UK, 1 in Nigeria (i named them) Vo-Why did you choose this school? Me- (1) Its Wealth of Experience of over 100years of Standard University Education which makes the school among the best schools in the Southern region of America rated by usnews.com & world report. (2) Its conducive classroom that has a Student-Faculty ratio of 14:1 which gives me an opportunity to interact well with my colleagues & lecturers on academic issues. (3) All my lecturers in the School of Business Administration & Management are Professors which makes them experts in their respective areas of teaching. Infact, i communicated with the dean of the School of Business Administration & Management, Prof. Hector Quintanilla who advised me via the phone as well as e-mails on the importance of studying my MBA @ the School & what i stand to gain when i graduate from the School. (@ this point, the guy called the next Vo who happened to be the guy who gave me that pathetic white paper on my 1st interview, "den dey gist about my matter oh" for a few seconds, i guessed!) Vo-Did you write any exam? Me-Yes, GRE. Vo-Can i have it? Me-Yes (i passed it & he checked it) Vo-Where did you do your exam? Me-Lagos Vo-What do you understand by Geometry & Algebra? Me-Geometry is a form of mathematics that has to do with description of shapes, sizes & eventual interpretation in mathematical terms through solving problems while Algebra is a form of mathematics that involves the use of equations & formulars to solve problems, for example 80 + x = 120, what will be the value of x? Vo-Who will Sponsor you? Me- My Dad Vo-What does he do? Me-He supplies Building materials to Companies & Individuals within the country, infact, he owns a Building material company, presently has two firms, 1 in Lagos state which is the head office & the annex in Ogun state that both supplies Building materials within Nigeria. He is the General Manager of XYZ BUILDING MATERIAL COMPANY. Vo-Do you have any statement? Me-Yes (i passed it & he glanced through & returned it) Although @ this time i had accepted fate that its nt my day again after i noticed his hands directed towards the same spot the earlier Vo took dat pathetic white paper & also handled my passport along with my I-20 the same way the earlier Vo handled it & thought i heard him say something like re-applying again or their usual rehearsed pathetic statement. But i was shocked when the Vo gave me only this supposedly "white paper again" but refused giving me my passport & I-20. "Na so dis white dude no gree oh". (later i discovered the white paper he gave me contains encouraging statement regarding collection of visa). It was then it clicked that the devil has finally been disgraced, disappointed & defeated!!! GLORY BE TO GOD ALMIGHTY!! Please, join me to sing & dance "Come & join me sing Halleluyah, Jehovah Jareh has done me well, Come & join me sing Halleluyah, Jehovah Jareh has done me well". GLORY BE TO ALMIGHTY GOD. [/quot Congrats Mr Chris u did it at last wishing u the best of ur studies here ![]() |

ronakoks: I was at abuja cousulate on monday. I was denied the F1. Was interviwed by one very young, deceptively prettey and calm VO at window 6. They say she's new at the embassy and actually she was taking her time and asking many questions and not really issuing F1, like someone who is trying to be meticulus cos of her inexperience. I hope she's not an intern or somethin at DHS cos there was a point durin my interveiwe wen another young lady came to her boot as if to come check on her to see how shes doin on the job and they were looking at my i2o and bank statement and smiling and nodding there heads at each other and sayin somethin to each other as if in the process of learnin or something. I felt really sad cos i was kinda prepared for this interview. At least i really prepped for the main F1 questions. I cant even totally recall how everything that went down. |
dnpasion: Went for my second interview today in lagos and the black american guy interviewed me but got denied again. I'm so sad and even got depressed ever than before.I wasn't nervous today and I gave all my answers without fear. Anyway here is how it all went:-SORRY BRO WRITE SAT NEXT TIME....DON'T GO WITHOUT IT NEXT TIME..WISHING U THE BEST NEXT TIME!!! |

dnpasion: Mine was paid via cashier check and i printed out my online sevis receipt 2days after the payment was made, Try to make use of cashier check.@yvete you can see the guy(dnpasion) above testified the same for cashier's check its only 2 days...so dont waste time anymore |
Yvete: @Sealord & Chitown I called SEVIS people and they said that money order takes 2 weeks to process. The interview is next week.@yvete the cashier's check only takes 2 business working days as soon as the check and the student info is sent via usps becos the last time i paid sevis was on friday and by monday the student already had the printout of the receipt sent to his email address...but u can also confirm from the sevis office too about the cashiers check of a thing..but all i kno is 2 business working days and u shud have the receipt den. |
mckenziiii: @ kpolli I knw I just needed sm ideas u kno two heads r neta dan one@mckenzi mehn i think is kinda wierd asking someone why u wanna study a course or why u want this particular sch mehn do alot of research urself, trust me within a few days u gonna come up with something good or try part 1 and 2 like the house suggested. i just kno wen dere is a will dere will always be a way!!!...@imperioux and dose making out time to assist prospective students despite the tight schedule in school; keep up the good work!!!! |
@beambor1 congrats wishing you the very best in ur studies and @ yvete i have made sevis payment in the us with a cashier's check and sent it with the student info via usps and everything was fine. |
It was really a sad day for me because i got Denied today at Lagos Us Embassy and here is how my interview went. Firstly i was bit nervous when answering the questions. Vo. Why this school? Me. I chose this uni becos 99% of their classrooms are technology-enabled and the school offers intelligence cognate which combine the key elements of computer science with the skills needed for work in the security and business sector. Vo. How many schools did you applied to? Me. 3 and listed but only xyz admitted me. Vo. Who is Jerry westfall? Me. Thought he said Jerry Falwel so I said he is the founder of the school because Jerry Falwel is the founder and chancelor of the school not knowing he was referring to Westfall who happens to be one of the prof. In the computer sc. Department. Vo. Why this major? Me. I chose this major because almost every major challenge facing society is turning to computing for a solution. Vo.What will you do after the completion of your study? Me. Come back for my nysc after that I wish to work for the nigeria government. Vo. Who is sponsoring you? Me. My dad Vo. What does he do? Me. Business Vo. Type of business? Me. He is a major distributors of mouka and yinka oba foam, he is also into sales of building materials. Vo. How much does it have in bank for your program? Me. Told him the total on the bank statement but he didn't bother to look at the bank statement. He typed for some minutes hoping that he is going to give me the green paper but unfortunately he gave me a white paper and said sorry can't grant you a visa. Dont go to abuja...try lagos again, GOD is every were!!! and next time try to kno so much about your skool, program and department including courses you will be taking when u register and even the dorm/hostel you will be staying, and one more thing write SAT even if u cannot write toefl its very important for undergrads becos the vo will recognise you as a genuine student and also u might have the chance to qualify for a scholarship from your skool..if not u will end up wring Act when u get here...Wish u the best of luck next time fella....!!! |

Shalomnuthin like influence for embassy ooo as for my own knoledge na all man for himself at the embassy wether obasanjo follow u go or not when u dont prove urself credible before the consular officer then there is nothing else just pray to GOD FOR FAVOR THATS MY ADVICE. |
kpolli: That doesn't apply if they don't have anyone in USA. . . . Being alone and broke here is close to suicide@kpoli i want to remind u i'm here all alone by myself but i got a family thru organizations like church and soroties in school, and they did help in so many ways. and as for being broke no body will give u any answer on that becos right from when dey got their visa i always said it as a priority even if u have funding its a must for u to have more than enuf for at least first semester so as to atleast help urself before u kno how to manage.....so any how sha na 9ja dem be ![]() |
yo fellas check this schools out eatern illinois university..(www.eiu.edu)...........Illinois State University (illinoisstate.edu)...western illinois university..(www.wiu.edu).......and also shout out to my n**gaz jimtosam and impreioux dey got some more schools with full funding for y'all; u just gotta to pay less than a 1000 usd a semester in eiu for the school i kno much about...to try to check each department and call or send dem an email if necessary..........best of luck guys...i hate to see people suffer but at the same time they never try to find out imformation or make research dem selves at least to make it a lil easy for dem selves.......America is a place to be if u got the right info mehn u will live at least an average decent life with little stress but not stress free............. ![]() |
imperiouxx: ^^^^ Sebi someone said I'm blasphemingyou talk well jare broda...u dey go straight to the point......anyone interested in GA funding schools we can always be of help..............i go some info for ya... ![]() |
Adolite: We all face different life in America, To some is Sweet when you prepared before coming down here but to others is Hard ..in my case America is sweet and am ready to explore more soon , Thank God that i choose my uni in a small town, imagine in less than a month i got here i got my Driving License and later got a very NICE car for myself, preparing for Winter. If you really want to STUDY and your papa no be politician or RICH MEN in naija then find some Cheap schools in some states...Please follow this link it help..if u say amke dem no come if no enuf moni dey will think u dont want dem progress dey will learn it the hard way when they choose not to listen but the truth is 9ja na 9ja dem go survive everybody face hardship one way or the other but be strong guys no matter wat............its still a place to be... ![]() |
well i dont know how u guys make research about states and all that..but one thing is anyone interested in coming here should be prepared regardless of the states u go live in there is always expensive places and cheap places so u just have to find out. i stay in Illinois and i pay $300 for rent and $20 for internet and 30 at most for electricity for a one bedroom apartment so u just gotta find out. try to make friends with not just indians alone there are cool black and white americans, and also check organizations around you like church, african student association, ahplha phi, sororities meet people thats the best way to get so many information u need dey will let u kno mehn.....as funding like imperioux always emphasize on mehn thats a great deal. like almost all my firends in grad school are going to school free of charge dey only pay like $800 a semester for student fees tuition is fully funded by the school plus they get stipend monthly like $900 for up keep. so life is what u make it. if u feel u are not enjoying here is becos u have not found a way out. so try and mingle mehn....AMERICA IS FUN FOR THOSE WHO KNO THEIR WAY...NOT ILLEGAL OOO OR SCAM. ![]() |
@yankee boi try to do all u can to finish this semester all though i didnt went through all this stress but i wud just say try to get a laptop Asap then try to make research online try to be aware of things around you need and also a way of contacting people..but since ur staying far from skool try craiglist look for apartments close to school check the housing scetion u might be lucky to find a place close to ur school and then next semester u transfer to were u have people... and as for job u cannot work outside of ur campus since u are on F1 status, so try the the dinning and housing halls.. if ur in Chicago make we kno how to help!!! |
dipson047: Hey pals plz I do need ur help!! An agent want to hlp me get USA student visa & he said I shuld pay d sum of 200k for d admission alone & I will ve 2 balance him 900k after d interview..when I heard all diz 4rm him I went online bymyself 2 check about diff cheap universities & I saw diff tins differs 4rm what d man told me..my question is can I apply by myslf because I ve sponsorer here in Nigeria & a white woman over there whcich I meet on facebook who re willing to foot my bills.you can do it all by ur self here if u follow the due process...just ask the guru in dahouse sure dey will put u through...but as for the white woman wey go foot ur bills mehn just forget that area..yankee na all man for him self ooo. even ur broda or family or whateva relative or friend dem go blank u once u dey talk about paying my bills ask guys wey there dem go let u kno wasssup ![]() |

Anthonymighty: After so much biometrics at number 5 stand...and waiting...there were only 2 people interviewing...A man on Number 7 I think in his late 30's and a woman at number 9 other stands where empty. I was saying abi this people no dey come work again?. Anyways I was studying them as usual, I noticed the guy was friendly to females and the woman was a little friendly but calm and strict. But in general they were only giving out visas to parent and parent(s) who came with their kids. They gave all of them visas. But they denied 4 students that that went before me and the guy gave just 1 student then called me for my turn. Here was how It went:next time try and add some work experience to ur application even if u dont get paid just let dem kno u are on internship or something....and pray to God for favour....all the best next time. |
and i hope this senate of thing comes out with favour of students here....so all my people too go smile
