Most fishes are edible.
You can boil, fry, steam, roast and even bake them. This is the most important about fishes!!! |
Goodnews With more resources found in the south west, soon they too will want to leave. Nigeria----->Northern Region, the Biafra nation, the NigerDelta nation, Odua nation ![]() |
Nice analysis. Only flawed when you said 'nigerDelta (SS $ SE)'.....Niger delta is in the SS Only!....not SS and SE. Don't worry, Buhari will meet his waterloo soon. |
okeyjames:Lol bro, my first job after NYSC was a referral from my fiance's dad. Even with that High profile recommendation, I still wrote 3 tests and attended two interviews....before I got the offer. I thought he pulled all strings until I was in the company and had first hand experience as to how things were done . The best a referral can do there is get you a spot for the first stage test. If you fail, it ends there. Yes I will give him my CV but I would expect to be put through the recruitment process too. Lol I may be excellent in the job specs which will help me grow steadily on the job. A time will then come when I am probably a member of the management team, and I decide to compromise on quality to cut cost or I can decide to be involved in things that are against company policy simply because my moral compass points south. Men....when ph people and those wey miss AC go finish jare make person start expect feedback joooor... |
NPComplete and scarletdp Awesome view points guys and I must say I understand your line of thought now. NPComplete, I'm sorry I misconstrued your earlier post. I must make clear though that there is a difference between right/wrong and excellent/poor. Consider, someone who got into a company via the back door but does the job EXCELLENTLY as an engineer on field is excellent on the job but such a person will most likely be a wrong hand when it comes to morals and integrity. In the long term, such a person might mess things up as he will probably use his excellent influence to bring others who are poor hands into the company through the backdoor too. If you have some designated channels of recruiting as your only RIGHT channels as a company. It is WRONG to use any other means that is not in the books. This is naija though, we are just sharing ideas, we all know what happens on the real ground.......we hope its stopped or reduced to the barest minimum soon. |
NPComplete:There is nothing open and/or honest about this sentence 'going through the back door doesn't make you a wrong hand'. For me, If you go through the back door, you are definitely a wrong hand. There are always accepted channels of getting employed by any company. Anything out of the accepted is unacceptable therefore it is definitely wrong. |
scarletdp:Whether as contract or full time staff, what is wrong is getting employment simply because you know someone in the company when it is not a family business. I know an FMCG that conducted recruitments where thousands applied and in the end they staffed the contract workers they had with them, without taking even anyone out of the thousands of external applicants who passed their tests and interviews. These contract guys most likely got their contract role via IM and now they are full time staff. Anyway, NLNG will do what is right in terms of integrity in final list, I am 95% certain of this. |
scarletdp:Going through the back door includes having someone pull off strings for you...they are all wrong and you definitely are a WRONG HAND if integrity is part of the shared values of the company's staff. Yes, 99% of persons will like to be put through the back door if given the chance, this doesn't make it right!!... Someone who can be put into a company through biased means will definitely be likely to do things that compromise standard acceptable modus operandi. |
jamanuka:The bolded simply means that there are PwC guys working in NLNG at this moment. They are sent from PwC to NLNG for a specific jon which usually has a time frame, maybe recruitment, maybe auditing etc. Most companies at this level have external people from other firms that help maintain integrity and standard. In terms of this NLNG recruitment and the professional relationship between NLNG and PwC, I believe there will be some PwC guys assigned to help check and identify lapses in the process. Just a believe though. |
freaknik:Naaaa..its possible, I don't expect 100% meritocracy, but for NLNG I expect atleast 85-90%. Thanks for sharing this info though, its really appreciated and trust me, it will keep some HR people on their toe. I pray that all those PwC guys on secondment with NLNG will use their time there judiciously!!!!. *If you are reading this and you know you can do something to curb anomalies like this one raised here,...please be the change that we need!!!* |
freaknik:Oh, ok I'm not saying there can't be man know man and other forms of favoritism in this recruitment but I choose to be optimistic about this entire campaign because that's the best I can do. Its also possible that your 'candidate' was lying to you. I know over 20 close pals working with NLNG, some entered as graduate trainee and others as experienced hires. Almost all these persons entered on Merit. so I choose to be positive. |
freaknik:What!!!! I can't believe this, I'm sorry. |
Jerry951:I do bro....Learning |
Jerry951:Thanks bro, we are all learning. Besides I thought Akpor means World and Emo means Children so Emoakpor or Emakpor would be something like World Children.... Now I know.. But u know in local languages, things like world and life are synonymous? Someone can say ..haa This World self!!!! It could still be said as ...haa this life self!!!! U get? |
chuqqym:Hehehe this one is not smiling!!! Nice!! |
tk4rd:Those guys are everywhere!!!!...even in NLNG them plenty there!!!.... Crazy smart consultants with their small small heads!!! |
ArmaniNG:Underworld Awakening!!!! From their comments ooooooooh,..you shall know them!!!! |
enito:From their comments you shall know them!!! ![]() |
coolio2014:My brother, na so we see am oh....I know a shell cutee, a total dude, one Hali damsel and Yes Mobil!!!! In this race.....some of them are contract staff though and most got into their current company 'specially'. PwC people!!!!!!! you guys just flooooood this recruitment ehn!!!! |
DivineU:très raisonnable, excellent et beau point de vue!!!!! That's why I said other criteria that is not 'work experience' will be best used, because no knows the work experience and/or other qualifications candidates have acquired since the SHL test. Would be unfair to use work experience for a graduate trainee opening. As regards FC, sex, course of study, skills, I believe NLNG knows what best to do. Relevant Skills would have been assessed at the Assessment center. I would share my clearer viewpoint on this issue but for the ph guys not to have undue advantage, I'll chill. @bolded, I am only positive about a prospective employer, this is Nigeria where mediocrity and nepotism is the order of the day. But this is also NLNG, a company with a proven track record!!!.....I'm pretty sure top heads in the company will resist pressure from Abuja and other places so as not to compromise on the meritocracy of this process. They are recruiting the future of the company, employing the wrong hands by using IM and connection will mean they are willing to throw away all their years of hardwork!!!!......like you said, let's believe in them that they will do what is right. Regards Technical guys, I am in line with your view too....but remember this is a graduate MANAGEMENT trainee recruitment. |
omah1:Lol, we can start by coming together first. I had to travel to live with grandma just to learn the language |
JVgal:Correct!!! Is that your name? |
JVgal:Correct!!! Is that your name? |
rezzy:Yes Oghene is short form and Yes people are called Oghene by their parents. I've seen many of such people. |
Machini:Was it accepted at the SHL test? |
LumiNG:I think it would be best to use just AC performance. It would be unfair to use work experience especially as this is a GT recruitment. All those Shell, Total, Hali, Slum, and mobil peeps at the AC!!!! No one knows how they got into these great coys, so performance @ the AC would be the only adequate and unbiased thing to use. If candidates have the same score which is most unlikely, then they can use other criteria but not work experience. Besides, its been one whole year since we filled that form at the SHL test, some peeps have got awesome jobs after that SHL test, some have lost their jobs, some have got higher degrees/certification/training, while others have gained useful experience. These things that happened from the SHL time till now are unknown to NLNG. Its best they just go with AC scores as those scores won't lie. If you can do what they want at the AC, you most likely would do it even better on the job. I believe they know all these though and they will do what is right and unbiased. |
elohorayodele:Ughelli, I'm urhobo but speak some other local and foreign languages. |
laurel03:LOL |
Khaytunechi:OFCOURSE HE IS FROM THE AXIS...URHOBO, ISOKO |
Khaytunechi:Hi bro, there are many tribes who are descendants of the great Benin kingdom, the urhobos are one of these many tribes and we do not deny our origin. History has it that the ancient Benin kingdom span from benin in edo state to Benin republic through the entire yoruba nation, and from Benin again through the coast of the atlantic to even parts of the akwacross axis. you can do your research. So it is very likely that we might have some names and traditions that look alike in both igbo speaking regions and even yoruba speaking regions. |
