Politics › We've Jammed Radio Biafra Signal - FG by CHM11(op): 2:39pm On Jul 15, 2015 |
ABuja—The Federal Government said on Tuesday that it had succeeded in jamming the transmission signals of Radio Biafra, which had been operating illegally from an unknown location. Dr Yemi Folasade-Esan, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Information, stated this while speaking with State House correspondents after he had briefed President Muhammadu Buhari on the activities of the ministry.
Folasade-Esan said that Buhari was adequately briefed on the activities of the illegal radio station and the successful blocking of its transmission signals.
“We also gave a report on (Radio Biafra) that right now, the signals from Radio Biafra have been jammed. The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has successfully jammed that.
“The NBC is also working with security operatives to get those behind that radio because it is an illegal radio. It is not licensed by anybody to be on Nigeria’s airwaves.“
The permanent secretary disclosed that she also briefed the President on the activities of the nine parastatals and agencies under the ministry as well as the Federal Information Centres in the states of the federation.
According to her, the president raised concern about piracy and instructed the ministry to work harder to reduce piracy to ensure that the producers of intellectual property such as Nigerian movies, get what is due to them.
Folasade-Esan identified inadequate funding as one of the major challenges the ministry and its agencies were experiencing. She said that the ministry was considering resuscitating its federal information services in each state of the federation considering their importance to the success of its mandate.
“Most of the challenges have to do with inadequate funding. We talked especially about National Press Centre that is not working up to the level it should work.
“We also talked about the Federal Information Centres. You will recall that we have Federal Information Centres in every state of the federation.
“They are not working optimally as well and we brought that to the fore because that is actually one of the strengths of the Federal Ministry of Information.
“We also talked a lot about the external publicity and the possibility of reopening the Federal Information Services abroad.“ http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/07/weve-jammed-radio-biafra-transmission-signals-fg/#sthash.tEMVMOt9.dpuf |

For a start, I'm from ogwashi ukwu in anioma land, and I'm proudly igbo. I am beginning to think that you are mad honestly, and it will be a pity if I just quited a lunatic.
ikechu1257, fr3do, 1naira6 etal pls do you have anything to say to this goat cos I don't like conversing with mad people
kai! what an iddiott? English is quite hard!!!... As much as u try to be stupid on a public forum. I will try to make easier for your brain. I have not seen any igbo in the south south. The igbolike tribes I've seen don't call themselves igbos!!!. This doesn't stop them from wanting or not wanting Biafra. Its a thing of choice!!! (Please take note of the bolded above) I know even the above clear explanation will still escape your logical dispersion because you are a child born into hate for other human beings. Re-evaluate your life, repent and see what plans God have for you. I hate no tribe or religion...We are born into what we are,.......respect each other!!!! |

belzabull: When time comes we see how you will stop Igbo in the SS from aligning with Biafra Don't intend doing that in anyway. There is always freedom of association and mutual respect amongst people in the SS. Mutual respect I find very rare from many SEastern nairalanders (dunnot if its so in real life). There's nothing wrong in respecting others as they respect you! By the way, I've not seen any IGBO in the SS!!!!....they don't call themselves 'IGBO'. |

The Igbo re just fighting For Biafra so only them will have access to our resources. greedy fellows. Why Nigeria on the other hand are fighting to keep the resources within there control.
That why we need to come out and say We want Niger Delta Republic, Or better still a country with Edo, Urhobo, Isoko, Itsekiri, Ilaje will be better the reason I added ilaje is bcous there languages is 80% itsekiri.

EggovinMma: I think nobody should forget history, else it may repeat itself again. What happened during the civil war was really something that will continue to live in the minds of every igbo, it was a genocide in all its entirety. Igbos were killed even in the army by their fellow hausa soldiers. All they wanted was self determination. So many countries have done it and still doing it.
Looking at Nigeria today, I honestly pray we survive yet another 4 years. Our leaders are greedy and selfish. If the marriage isn't working, there should be a divorce.
Looking back at the horror of those civil war years, it's effect et al, and the igbos still insist on biafra, why not give it to them? Your bolded will most likely work. Problem will only arise when the igbos try to claim oil/gas producing lands in the SS. I believe that's why the Biafra dream failed the first time. Nigeria and Biafra fought for the Oil discovered in the SS region, a non igbo, non yoruba and non hausa minority people. |

Christianity Etc › Re: Sallah: Displaced Persons Get Donations From FG by CHM11: 1:34am On Jul 15, 2015 |
kodded: that is why they dont want SS to join forces with SE to fight for biafra I am from the SS, I am not really OK with the SE and its ways too. So its not always about the North....between the SE and the SS there is no bond as the SS people feel the only reason the Igbos want a relationship with them is for their oil and waters for creation of ports. I always ask my igbo hommies, what does the SS stand to gain from the SE?....if nothing then the SS will do better being on its own as a unit or in bits., |

ajahexcel: really need more schools More schools to do what? Pour more graduates with awesome results but no enabling environment? We don't need more schools, infact we need to discourage tertiary education a little and encourage skill development. a first class BEng. Petroleum Engineering degree holder from the University of Portharcourt who hasn't seen a rig/exploration site is just irritating!, but that's what we have in this country. The meaning of Bachelor in BEng or BSc is totally misconstrued over here. |

Awesomeking: its not easy, science students who crossed to management when i was in school ended up failing woefully, all 6 of them, apparently, its a lot harder than they thought..they think its all rainbows and flowers, fella there are man eating canivorous flowers there too, just like every other department. Don't know you or your level of professional experience. But my comment wasn't talking about high school or tertiary institution but I'm talking about the professional business world, from oil and gas to banking, to FMCG, to consulting etc...You have science guys replacing management and commercial guys even in their own fields/specialty. Engineers are almost always preferred in banks over people who studied banking and finance. Mathematics, Comp science and even physics guys are trained as accountants and they are outstanding at it. I've never seen a political science, economics or business admin graduate being recruited as rig engineers, or QC chemist, or plant design engineer etc etc..... I don't like arguing....its a fact!!!...95% of kids who run to arts and commercial actually did that to run away from science. FM, Chemistry, Physics, calculations, biology etc scares many of them. Only about 5% of kids actually go to arts/commercial out of a sincere desire to build a real career there. |

#shikena 'On average, pure science related peeps are smarter than their commercial counterparts'.....understand this then we can discuss. Average here can also be referred to as 'mean' in statistics. Doesn't take away the fact that there are some extremely intelligent commercial guys and there are also some really dull science guys. |
