Exactly how I see it, but I would be so glad if he could prove to be that jigsaw. Nothing gladdens my heart than seeing my midfield flourish while I have a potent fire power. With a good Midfield, our defense wouldn't be very much exposed as has been the case lately

Look, we have a goal scoring MF on Aribo. We need to utilise that. We have an elite and world class ball winner and defensive shield in Ndidi. We have a similar thing in Onyeka who is more of pressing machine. And in Iwobi, we have an AM who can play on the wings if need be. But none of them are genuine Midfield playmakers from deep.

And the beauty of having this dynamism in the middle is that we can mix things up. Also, a DLP is harder to track and press than one who plays #10. People just don't see this tactical angle.

Till today am not sold on Ndidi and Onyeka starting together....why not Ndidi-Aribo-Iwobi or Ndidi-a rejuvenated Nwakili-Aribo.I always see Onyeka as a natural back up to Ndidi.

Ndidi-Aribo-Iwobi has been tested and the result often came out negative, hence the urge to get Nwakali aboard the ship, to try to utilize Aribo's new found mojo as an AM, while Nwakali conducts as Ndidi shields.

Onyeka can be brought in for Nwakali to close shop alongside Ndidi. But for the most parts, if we truly wanna take the game to the Egyptians, we have to play on the front foot. We have to wrestle control from the Egyptians in the middle game and dictate the flow and rhythm of play.

Nwakali will have to prove his mettle before this conclusion can be reached because he is still a greenhorn as long as the senior national team is concerned. Mind you, this isn't doubting his abilities, but being factual.

First step - Give him a shot, if he does well, continue with him, otherwise, try other options.

Please help me ask them o. Onyeka that is even better than Ndidi in the EPL this season. Onyeka and Aribo have been our best two midfielders in Europe this season as Ndidi has been struggling with Soumare pairing. No coach will select Nwakali over these guys except by favoritism.

I have a feeling that Nwakali will get to the AFCON and when he gets gametime, he'll put on a howler that will show how far he currently is from the level of the best midfielders in Africa who play for the top clubs in the top leagues in Europe. It is not by being technical or commanding midfield, if you are not on the top level professionally it will show. Imagine Partey and Kessie who have been playing consistently against the best players in the world coming up against Nwakali in midfield. Who do you think will win the duel?

Bennacer and Onyeka should not be in the same sentence. Onyeka lacks Bennacer's passing range.

They are similar in energy levels. Similar in pressing. But one can pass wayyyyy better that is what makes one a Midfield conductor and the other just a pressing machine.

Tactical analyses of these players is not hard naa. Eye test sees it all but we would rather play one because we watch him on TV daily by popular demand even when he doesn't have what is needed to strike that tactical balance we lack in the middle.

If you read between the lines, you would understand that I was a bit picky, and my statement conditional and subjunctive. It was not a given, hence I hinged my points on Onyeka being as energetic and combative as Bennacer, appreciating his deficiencies too. It is just something the coach could give a shot IF the plan A(Nwakali) falls short(which I seriously doubt, by the way)

Eguavoen can’t risk benching an Onyeka who hv been the teams best midfielder in training so far for nwakali
