SailorXY: Besides I see no logic asking Anderson to leave while Cleverley is retained, as far as I'm concerned they are par @ best, yet Anderson edges it being by being more talented...
Just like I was saying last season that there's no sense calling for the head of Nani to be axed while we retain a certain Ashley Young or Welbeck
U forgot they're sons of d soil?

StarBoard: I think you have to put the Rooney criticism into perspective.
He asked for a transfer, for the second time within two years, and tried engineering a move over the summer through the press.
This is on top of the fact that he's earning a million quid a month.
With that kind of salary, he has to play well EVERY game. (At least my boss at work asks me if I can guarantee 100% performance if I asked for a pay-rise.)
So it's actually odd for me hearing peeps lay praise on the fella for doing what he appears to be overpaid for.
In my opinion, he should be scoring every game and having above 90% pass accuracy in each of those games.
Otherwise how can he justify his huge pay-packet?
That said he had a good game yesterday even if he could have played a lot better and a whole lot more sensibly.
As for the game, I never want to see Phil Jones and Chris Smalling anywhere near our team list.ferdinand and Vidic still remain our first choice CB pairing.
Nani had a stinker. Is AJ44 our best winger now?
Rooney was good yesterday n DM did good substitutn also.
I wouldn't want Rio near d@ 1st. Moyes should have started Vidic considering our opponent.

montelik: Rumors is DDG could well be off. We were supposed to have begun contractual talks with him regarding an extension, but Moyes and Woods put a halt on it till end of season. Apparently they aren't too comfortable with our gks. Hence why Lindegard has been in and out of the squad and is hasn't even played cup games.

Suggestion is Moyes is open to the possibility of using DDG as bait for Fabregas @ Barca or Khedira/Modric from Madrid. We will grab Forster or Begovic as replacements and Woods rates Forster highly and has sent scouts to watch him.

Could turn out that Moyes ends up being convinced into jettisoning any thoughts of let DDG leave , but it could easily be that none of Steele recruits (DDG or Lindegard) will be at O.T next summer.
So he thinks Fab would sort all our midfield problems?. I laff!

But seriously, he should be smacked if he goes back to Barca cos of Fab.

That's y we didnt strengthen our mid cos he was after unrealistic targets n guys were blaming Wood.

chamotex: That is the problem. I dont think DM has the balls to drop VP. If he is fit, he will play at the weekend and Kagawa will make way.

I've always talked about trying different things and the Rooney/Kagawa combo looked promising towards the end
D@ means VP/Kagawa combo will be magnificient

We've been wasting our no.10 on bench while complaining of lack of created chances.

coogar: moyes has brainfarted again...

----------de gea----------
rafael--jones--evans--evra
valencia--giggs--carrick--kagawa
-----chicharito----rooney-----

i still find it baffling giggs start games ahead of anderson, fellaini, etc. it's just wrong playing giggs in the midfield. he puts the u in useless!
Sure DM is not having a bust up wit VP?
Ando didnt even make bench

elampiro: Rooney was our best player against West Brom until he got tired at 70th minute. He had many km in previous matches which tired him out. Get the expert match rating of players and you will see Kagawa was nonsense. Kagawa was giving away possession. The only sensible ball he played was when Rooney put him through with a clever pass on the left.
So Rooney made d assist for VP goal?
Lol! U need medication to be freed of this guy.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 12:05pm On Oct 23, 2013
elampiro: Man United Vs West Brom Rooney was thousand miles ahead of Kagawa.

Man Untied vs Leverkusen, Rooney was a Zillion miles ahead of Kagawa.

Which one again have they played together?

I expect a natty gale to tell me indomie played on the left. But Janujaz has played on both left and right, then centre.
Rooney better than Kagawa against W'brom?

My guy, football is different from wrestling.
I know AV n Welbeck would be on ur 1st team list if u were United coach.

Remove Rooney's energy n drive n he's below average.

Wonder hw's gonna be when he turns 30. Would be better he's sold nw b4 then.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 11:43am On Oct 23, 2013
Drop ur facts on y u think he has been better than Kagawa?

elampiro: What is the criteria for dropping Rooney from a UCL game. He is the deadliest in Europe behind Messi and Ronaldo. Go check your records and leave sentiments out. I hardly argue about pre-match team selection made here.
Cos of his poor form simple. We need guys d@ can help in ball possession n he is d opposite.

montelik: @A40. Abeg nothing saf has said is explosive. its all been fairly obvious to any long-term united fans. what I would like to know is whether fabregas was the punk who threw pizza at him. I have personally always suspected Cole or Lauren. Also who stopped Rio, Carroll and Giggs from cracking a few skulls in reprisal. lol
Fab did.

GustavoFring: What is man utd's starting formation?
U should've asked 1st b4 d post.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 12:21pm On Oct 22, 2013
coogar: comedians have taken over the thread - leave the golden boot winner in the last 2 seasons on the bench?

you guys need some protein-shake to boost your brain power to the optimal level. RVP is very vital to the way we play. rooney must be the one to stay on the bench.
GustavoFring: Compare and Contrast Man Utd and Arsenal.

They both play 4231, they both have a striker and a 10.

The difference is, when Ozil has the ball, Giroud is moving towards him to receive the pass and hold up play before passing into space

When Rooney has the ball, RVP is moving away from him to find space for a shot.

RVP's approach makes it harder to retain possesion as he is more interested in the final ball, rather than the build up itself.

The difference? Giroud currently has 4 goals and 4 assists in 8 games while RVP only has 4 goals and no assists in 7 games.

With regards to team performance, it means that the goal scoring burden at utd lies squarely on RVP's shoulders and when he's not scoring, no one is.

No doubt he is a fantastic scorer, but he will not operate well in a 4231. He is more suited to a 433

As a manager, I would prefer to have a free-scoring team instead of a free scoring striker.
Manutd plays 4231?
U're indeed a comedian.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 11:46am On Oct 22, 2013
GustavoFring: What else does RVP offer apart from goals?

And how does he differ from Hernandez who is currently languishing on the bench?

Infact I put it to you that RVP is only starting by virtue of his reputation as he cannot even boast of a superior goal scoring record to Chicharito.

As a manager, My best team with the current squad would have Welbeck leading the line and Rooney tucked in behind

And here's why, RVP is a poacher and poacher's thrive on service -and United's squad currently have no midfielders to provide that service.

Welbeck has proven that he can hold up play and bring in his teammates with layoffs and flicks. He will not just be waiting for service, but will be looking to provide service as well.
So wat's d primary role of no.9?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 9:18am On Oct 21, 2013
StarBoard: The pro-Rooney camp cannot tell us what exactly it is that makes him our " best" player.
Instead they say van Persie is also " struggling".
A supposed #10 can only make 1 out of 6 telling passes in a game.
Aside from creating imbalance in the squad, he adds nothing positive except dead-rubber goals.
Anyone saying Rooney has been our best player should go to d asylum.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 12:38pm On Oct 20, 2013
SailorXY: Hahahahaha infact eh... Choi!
If Rooney keep getting the praises while the team keep dropping points, of what benefit exactly is that to us?
Even if I didn't see the game, I'll like to know how many direct chances Rooney created?? How many times did he find van Persie in good space with a neat through ball? This is what we want to see from our AM!
Since Moyes seem to have personal beef with Kagawa & Zaha, let Januzaj be playing the CAM & Rooney + Nani can be inter-changing by his sides.
Fellaini & Anderson or Carrick & Cleverly or Cleverley & Anderson should be the pivot. We can't keep using two extremely slow men directly in front of the back four, non compliments the other @ allllll
Janu created more goal scoring chances yestade than our 10 has done in d last 2 games.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by chrisley024(m): 12:25pm On Oct 20, 2013
elampiro: What! Father Lord thank you for saving me from the spirit of argument on this thread. Look at what they have been arguing about. Someone will soon argue that Opabunmi has ball sense more than Beckham.

..............

Reading backwards, anyone who didn't watch the match would be made to believe from Montelik that Rooney did not make any positive contribution in the match. How many times did he actually give the ball away in the dangerous area?

I couldn't imagine that a supposed United fan celebrated Southampton's equalizer all in the name of sentiments and gathering points for arguments. Wow! It is evil for anyone to have wished that Southampton equalized so that he could prove a point in his argument. This goes to show the level of loyalty or 'illoyalty'. Such a person will still call himself a Manchester United fan? They are really not United fans but fans of the imaginary football they wish or dream that Man United should play. To them, Pogba, Obertan, Morrison, Eagles, Chicharito, Berbatov, Young and Anderson should be the ones starting our midfield and attack. They are so attached to putting these pieces in their fantasy/imaginary Man United team that they are so removed from reality and as such they can't analyzed a simple match. All I see is Rooney mess , Rooney shit, Rooney pee.

This thread should be named Man United antiRooney thread.

There is a cult here and some people don't have a word of their own except to align with Coogar on the 98% of the time. I know three guys who would join Coogar even if he were to argue that Justin Bebier and Usain Bolt would have been Old Trafford heroes had SAF been sensible enough to invite and play them in a run of games.

The interest of this cult and its ideologies are highly protected by the moderator who sends annoying spambot to hunt down any one with contrary opinion.

I remember having an argument with a guy sometime past. He said SAF was against black players. I told him of York, Cole, Ince, Anderson, Evra and the rest. He said no, SAF is acually against African players. I reminded him of Fortune and the purchase of Mikel. The guy said Fortune was not given a run of games to really establish himself.

What a comedy some fans really are:

...............
********************************
My opinion on yesterday's match.

We were comfortable and looked like it was a matter of time before we score again until Giggs came in for Nani and we suddenly became weak on the right. Instead of causing threat on the right, we were suddenly been overrun.

I honestly felt the first change should have been Kagawa for Janujaz, the young lad was tired from the 65th minute and was never again making himself available for passes.

When I saw Moyes leaving out Valencia, I knew he was looking at the UCL. With Valencia, Giggs would never have come in.

Rooney should never have left the field when we had just a slim lead. Despite giving the ball away twice in dangerous area and thrice in the final third, he was very vital to our attacking threat. He was involved in virtually all the threats. His fantastic run gave us the goal and he was unlucky to have hit the bar. Although he was expected to have scored on a face to face with the goalkeeper, his outpacing of the defender was nevertheless praiseworthy and it led to a goal. You don't take away a player who could help see off the match in the final 10 minutes. I mentioned this the last time but people misunderstood me. Rooney makes himself available for the ball, and it helps to run the time with few minutes left.

Welbeck doesn't know when to pass or dribble or shoot. He could have put Rooney through on a clear one on one with the goalkeeper.

Southampton has only conceded three goals from 8 matches. They are hard to tear apart. We were not lucky to have run away with at least 2 or 3 goals. I also thought our defence did extremely well until the changes which exposed us. Fellaini may have had a poor day, but he was somewhat an obstacle to Southampton than Giggs.

*** Let me argue as some guys would do had it been the reversed that happened:

Is anyone blaming Rooney for the loss of 2 points? What was the score when he left the field? Rooney was the only one who won 3 points against a defensive disciplined Southampton side yesterday, the rest 13 players got a draw or loss.

***Defence:

The last four men were great until the substitutions. They were swift, athletic and well coordinated. They were hard to beat and prevented the opponents from entering our box. It is our best defense outing so far except for the Leverkusen game.

***Substitutions:

It shoud have been (a) Kagawa for Janujaz before 70th minute to allow fluent exchange of passes between Rooney, Kagawa, Carrick and Evra
(b) settle the midfield probem by bringing in Smalling for Fellaini, Smalling moves to defence while Jones paired Carrick in the midfield. Or Push Rooney to midfield while Welbeck comes in for Fellaini.

***Selection:

Valencia and Vidic should have made the bench. Had Valencia been on the bench, Giggs should never have come in. With Valencia's magnificent performance against Uruguay, he showed how much he can be vital to a team, but Moyes had a UCL in sight.
Had Vidic been around in the last few minutes instead of Smalling, I can argue he would have headed that ball away instead of allowing it to drop to an opponent's foot.

***Fellaini:

I don't know what's the problem with Cleverley, I wished he was on the field. However, Fellaini may have been our worst player, but his presence (on and off the ball positions) was an obstruction to Southampton smooth transition of the ball. Even though he was beaten several times, his direct approach to tackles was a positive attitude, that enable his team mates to recover. If he is trained to be firm and win tackles together with some speed to his game, he will be fine. Speed was my only worry about him before he arrived Old Trafford.

***Moyes:

His overall game tactics is improving. We have started creating chances while transiting the ball faster as compared to our early games. His substitutions were not only poor but shocking. However, I believe he will still click. It was hard for Macini to finally find rhythm for Man City. Every team has strengthen from last season.

***The Immediate Future:

11 points in 8 matches for Man United. Shocking! We are lucky not to be more than 10 points behind the top three teams. With 30 more games to play, we can push towards the top four until December. Then before playing the big teams again, we can strengthen in January to ensure we finish decently by May among the top three. It is very possible.

*** I expect some guys to react to my opinion, but I am not to argue again. Una kpele o.
I agree with u on d issue of substitutn n tiredness of d young lad(ofcos expected from a lad of 18), but on Fellaini, Moyes n Rooney? They're all shi.t n shuld fvck off.
