Celebrities / Pay Tax For What? Bishop Oyedepo Reacts To Be Named World's Richest Pastor. by chrisobas(m): 5:14pm On Oct 14, 2014
Winners Chapel GO Bishop David Oyedepo who recently turned 60, has reacted to the Forbes List of World's Richest pastors where he was placed at No.1 with an estimated worth of about $150million.
Asked about Forbes' estimate of his fortune, Bishop Oyedepo told Reuters that he doesn't know how Forbes arrived at their figure but says he's blessed...

"For me, to have fortune means someone who has what he needs at any point in time. I don't see myself as having $150 million stacked up somewhere. Whatever way they found their figures, I am only able to say I am blessed by the Lord."
Asked if churches should pay tax considering how much they make, Bishop Oyedepo said;
"There is no single government input on this premises. We supply our water, we make our roads, then you ... say: 'Let's tax them'. For what?"

Obiagelli:
I was beginning to enjoy your right up till I saw this crap you wrote. Where is your source? Ciroma and other pdp northerners made that statement.
Thank God you mentioned Mallam Adamu Ciroma but let me add that former Governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Lawal Kaita that was also found to have made such statement. They were the mouth piece of Buhari and the North. In this link, you find Chief E.K Clark referring to this (http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/08/boko-haram-arrest-ciroma-lawal-kaita-clark/#sthash.BTLec9g8.dpuf). Are these men not from the northerner extraction? Gen. Buhari was also found to have shed tears while presenting his campaign speech. Please Obiagelli can you explain to me and Nigerians why the General wept for Nigeria in public? If you read the whole write up you will clearly understand what I am all about here.

Politics / The North And Opposition Parties In Nigeria by chrisobas(m): 12:40pm On Jul 15, 2013
When a man with clear vision and profound acceptance starts declining in his social and political statutes, watch it! It could be that the system has overwhelmed him or he simply was not fit from the beginning.

This brings us to the issue of the Nigeria state and it's governance as it stands now. When President Goodluck Jonathan was running for presidency in the year 2011,he had wide acceptance from the people though the North initially did not want him there as they perceived that their supposed uncompleted tenure due to the death of President Yar'adua was not to be inherited by a southerner but the way Goodluck Jonathan comported himself all through issue of the failing health of then President Musa Yar'adua coupled with his minority ethnic group origin and poor background gave him wide recognition and acceptance in Nigeria as the people voted massively for him even cutting across religious, ethnic and party divides. He subsequently won the election and from that day all hell broke loose.

General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) who ran against him on the platform of CPC party, made an inciting statement during that period saying Nigeria will be made ungovernable if he loses and I can confidently say that he has made do with his threat judging by the spat of violent events that have been unfolding since then.

The Boko Haram insurgency which had receded during the time of Yar'adua came fully alive as mayhem became the order of the day and is still the order of the day. President Goodluck Jonathan has not had the breath of fresh air he used as a slogan for his election talk less of making it available to the citizenry as promised. The question is, could it be that he is weak? My candid answer is NO. The President may be seen as been more reactionary than proactive but that does not in any way portray him as a weakling. Post election violence and Boko Haram issue were the first shots General Buhari and his cohorts unleashed from their arsenal and President Jonathan is still battling with it coupled with the other numerous antics they have made available to aid them in seizing power from him come 2015.

When we carefully look into how they are politicking to wrest power from the incumbent we will never call CPC, ACN, other parties and the yet to be formed APC the messianic platform. They have gradually found their way into the PDP party where they are venting their anger and fanning the embers of discord among once party faithfuls as seen in the rift between the Presidency and Governor Chibuike Amaechi of Rivers State.

Governor Amaechi who they left in the PDP until their well calculated period of time to be a mole by going contrary to the decisions of the party and even planning to run against the incumbent president come 2015 has been made to look like the small boy being beaten up by the big man,the President hence heralding sympathy from people who they have gradually manipulated so they can overwhelmingly vote for them come the next general election. Take a look at how Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) which is merely an Association but a powerful structure of determining who becomes who mostly at the federal level was hijacked by Governor Amaechi's greedy intent of a second spell which had never been so solely for his selfish aim of becoming the Vice-President as been promised by the North. By implication, Amaechi and Jonathan are both from the same South-south region and at the moment the same party and this could scuttle the latter's re-election. Who says the President should open his eyes and watch them pour sand into them? When will the people wake up to think and see what is being played right before their faces?

God save the people of Rivers state and Nigeria as a whole because the crises rocking the state is becoming alarming and could become uncontrollable if not duly checkmated. The majority of the people in the state have rejected Amaechi even his own party as he still stands suspended from the party as I write. The minority that stand by him who are mainly State House of Assembly members have as well been playing to the gallery. Going by the recent happening on the floor of the house, one can clearly see how this pro-Amaechi law makers attacked their colleagues and started crying wolf at the end of the day. Is this not a scheme to put the President in bad light? If Amaechi has displeasure with the President, why don't he mend fences or leave the party that has out-rightly disowned him until he makes a u-turn?

I have long seen and considered the merger to form APC party a sham. This is not that I do not want a two party system in Nigeria but how can the so called Salvation Army, ACN party that has almost recaptured the whole of south-west team up with the CPC party that is characterized with violence, bigotry and jingoism if they had nothing hidden in their cupboard? Chemist and non-chemist alike know that water can not mix with oil. So how come this supposed water is mixing with oil if it is truly what it claims to be? Check out the Save Nigeria Group, the so called Activists, Labour leaders and tell me what parties they belong to? They are majorly either in the ACN or the CPC . These people are not supposed to be partisan by virtue of what is required of them so that their sense of judgment would not be beclouded but is that what we see today? Even the so called opposition parties that are supposed to give constructive criticism which is good for a healthy democracy do not do so.

These Northerners who perceive the presidency to be their exclusive reserve due to their long military that has profited the nation nothing are tactical and seem to be the master of their own game as they have drastically reduced the love and acceptance the people once had for the President during his period of emergence. As it stands now, if free and fair elections were to hold tomorrow, the President may woefully lose out because they have succeeded in painting him black before the people.

The North and the opposition party(s) should allow this President of our's that once had no shoe the enabling environment to work as there are plethora of issues to fix like the power sector, unemployment, transportation system, and so on and let Nigerians judge him in the general poll on fair basis.

The rift between Blackface and Tuface has been further exposed to the outside as it now spreads on social media as wide fire.
Former member of the defunct music group, Plantashun Boiz, Blackface, seems to be ready for a showdown with another former member of the group, 2Face Idibia over the controversial hit song, 'African Queen,' which the former claimed he co-wrote with the latter.

Blackface is insisting that he also has a share in the glory and therefore is entitled to whatever revenue 2Face earns from the song. Though 2Face Idibia has been taking credit for the hit song, which was used as a soundtrack for a Hollywood movie, Phat Girlz, released in 2006, and which featured American star, Mo'Nique, Blackface has now cried out that he is also part of the song.

But why it took him this long to voice out is what many still question. Shortly after the Plantashun Boiz broke up, the relationship between the duo was still intact, and it was believed that only Face had a strained relationship with the other members of the group.

The strain in the relationship between Blackface and 2Face became obvious during the April 2013 wedding of the latter in Dubai, which the former didn't attend. When asked by a follower on Twitter why he was not at 2Face's wedding in Dubai, which was attended by Face, Blackface simply replied that he doesn’t go to where he is not invited.

Blackface's response raised questions and confirmed that the two erstwhile friends might not be on speaking terms. Speaking with Channels TV some days ago, Blackface stated that he was yet to receive any money from 2Face despite his incessant cry on the matter.

“I still haven't (received any payment from 2Face) because they have to backdate it, they have to check the revenues of the music, what it has generated, what is due to the co-writer and all that, all those things are just still hanging, but I still have one or two things that I am doing to find out what the issue behind all these stuffs are,” the singer said. www.naija2geda..com

Mercy Johnson is a well known Nollywood star in Nigeria, nay Africa. After taking a break from the klieg lights to get married and have her baby, she’s now ready for a new project – the Mercy Johnson Foundation.

Last Friday, Sunday Sun caught up with Mercy Johnson at the Boys Correctional Center, Oregun, Lagos, where she went to speak to the boys and donate some gifts. She spoke briefly about motherhood and living beyond the moment. Samuel Olatunji recorded this excerpts…

You were at OJB’s house to see him and donate money, now you are here to donate to the Boys Reform Home in Lagos. What’s the idea?

No idea, we are just promoting the ideals of Mercy Johnson Foundation. The idea is to identify the needs, evaluate and help in our own little way. All fingers are not equal; those in position to help should do so without hesitation. You will be hearing a lot about Mercy Johnson Foundation from now on. We have put our house in order and now ready to help those we can. I strongly believe that as stars we should live beyond the euphoria of stardom and the moment. We will not always be here, what happens if you look back and realise you could do a lot to make the world better when you had the spotlight and you didn’t? I want to live beyond the moment.

Why the reform homes in Lagos?

I know I’m not glamorous to a lot of people, but we must know that if we do charitable things for publicity alone, we defeat the purpose. We need to find ways to reform young boys and girls otherwise they will make life uncomfortable for the children of the privileged. At this point, I must commend the government of Lagos State for making efforts at reforming the kids. We are looking at what we can do with the state to help make the future of these children better.

Motherhood seems to have changed you…

Yes, motherhood changes women. You begin to see yourself as a co-creator. You begin to see yourself as a protector. Few days ago, I was feeding Purity and she started dragging the bottle with me with the hot water in it. She pushed the bottle, I had to quickly push her away from the water and let it pour on my arm instead. That’s the kind of protection I am talking about. I think it will also make you feel more responsible for other children as well. You begin to see them as children of some other mothers. You have a sense of responsibility to want to protect them as well.

How are you coping with your husband and the baby?

There’s nothing like coping, he’s making my job easier. He dots on her. He carries her, feeds and does everything for her such that she misses him when he’s not around. You won’t believe she sleeps on his chest every night. He understands whatever adjustment I need to make when it comes to the baby. He’s a loving father?

What about being a loving husband?

Come on now, you know that Sam. He’s the best thing that happened to me. People usually say men are not reliable, in the case of my husband he’s a blessing. It’s obvious we are his priority.

So, your step of faith is paying off?

Yes. I am not saying its perfect, but this is close to perfection. If this is what it feels to be married, I want to marry my husband again and again.

How come you took a break and still returned as number one in Nollywood?

There’s nothing like number one in Nollywood. We are all doing our jobs; it’s just that some people are busier than others. I’m glad of what God has given me.

What should we expect from you career-wise?

I’m trying to be more selective with what I do. If the script is not good, I don’t want to do it. Our market is getting core aware and advanced as the day goes by.

How come you are not an ambassador of any brand yet?

We are having discussion with a couple of brands, when we agree with the terms, you will hear from us. However, I need to quickly point out that Mercy Johnson is a blend of youth and family brand. We just can’t stand and represent any brand. If it’s not representing the youths, which is our major consistency or the family, we will not be favourably disposed to it. I can’t at this point be ‘hawking’ cleavages in the name of promoting brand. Things have changed; this is the beginning of a new era for me.

Mercy Johnson and Tonto Dikeh obviously have some bad blood between them and this won't be the first time Tonto has indirectly cursed Mercy on twitter.

To muddy the waters again, Tonto recently dropped this tweet:

"@TONTOLET: Wen n if I give birth, God plz provide mii wit a husband dat can provide 4 uz,Not 1 dat wld send mii bck to actin 2monthz after I born 2 Huzzle"
Who got back to acting two months after birth by the way?

Culled from http://naija2geda..com
There is controversy in town. It is in the church and it has been causing ripples among families, especially the women.
The issue of contention is the teaching of a pastor, Harrison Charles of the Day Spring Assembly that polygamy is holy, pure and biblical.

Expectedly, the female members of the church are up in arms as they won’t contemplate sharing their husbands with other women in marriage.

The charged nature of their reactions and the insistence of the preacher with copious bible quotatations have resulted in jolts and turbulence in homes. Some homes are in Disarray as the wives pack out in protest and the husbands with the support of their pastor press their claims that such men in the church must marry other wives.

We listened to the protest of the wives over this doctrine and also sounded out the preacher on his ‘unpopular’ message He insists God directed him to so preach.

…Our husband are gone, and they want the kids too

Another controversy is already brewing around the General Overseer, Pastor Harrison Charles of the Day Spring Assembly over the new doctrine he introduced to the members. While some male aggrieved members of the church, alleged that the boss of the church is living with their wives who were deceived into leaving their matrimonial homes, some of the women who are also victims are crying out that their husbands have been exposed to multiple marriages which they won’t accept.
A staunch member of the church, Mrs. Oluchi Ezeobi has pleaded with the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to see that the church is abolished or risk another Rev King incident. She is alleging that her husband who she loves so much had deserted her and their children in a bid.

Come back to me

Mrs. Ezeobi doesn’t hide the fact that she still loves her husband and is willing to make her marriage work. She told Saturday Sun that her problem started when she rejected the ‘strange’ doctrine and subsequently stayed away from the church. She joined the church sometime in 1998 because she discovered that they had the spirit of prophecy.

“I was invited by a member to the church and when I discovered the gift they had, I started attending the church. After the demise of Pastors Augustine Okezue and Samuel Ezeanochie - two pioneer ministers of the church in 2000, Pastor Charles took over the ministry when it was obvious that he was a better alternative. Few months after, he told us to remove our headgear, use cream and start watching television unlike before when we were banned from such. We started wearing good clothes and it was a welcome development.”

Mrs. Ezeobi was one of those who benefited from pastor Charles style of imposition as she alleged that she was betrothed to her husband without any form of courtship. “I was in my shop one day when the GO called me to travel down to Onitsha as he had good news for me. He told me that God wants me to marry my husband immediately. I protested but he insisted that it was the will of God and if I fail to abide by it, the repercussion will be great. Because I believed in him as my spiritual leader, I agreed and the next day he announced it in the church and called us out for prayers. He told the congregation that he had just wedded us, if we like we could go and consummate it in the village with the traditional marriage. This incident took place on December 12, 2004,. The following month, we had our traditional marriage.”

With time Mrs. Ezeobi learnt to love her husband and marriage has been blessed with two children.

New doctrines

All seemed well for the couple until Mrs. Ezeobi decided to call it quits when she became uncomfortable with the new doctrines introduced by the GO. She was shocked when the man of God mounted the pulpit and told the congregation that Jesus told him to disregard the teachings of the Bible. “He told us in the church that he went to heaven and met Jesus who told him not to follow the Bible. One of the things he claimed that Jesus specifically told him was that men should wear women dresses and vice versa.

He also informed them that polygamy is of God and that any woman who stands in the way of her husband’s bid to marry a second wife should be sent to the village until she is willing to yield to the new order. He told us that Jesus married two wives, Gentiles and Israelites.”

The new doctrine was made open and popular when he told the congregation that he would teach them how the multiple wives are consummated in Christ. “He said that he would teach us how a pastor can marry many wives and still confess Jesus. He engaged in it perfectly just few months after. I have been with them for almost 14 years. When these things started, I decided to leave the church. Because of the series of preaching, I was scared that this man would force my husband to marry another woman.

Because he was determined to marry many wives, he told the men to also marry. Sometime in December 2009, my husband told me to come back to the church or the marriage will be over. When I rejected his pleas, he packed his property and left. He began threatening me that he was going to take our children and since he does not have money, that he will send the boy to the north. I cannot leave my son for a man who I am not sure of what he will do next. I am scared that they will come and pick him up. I have assured them that when the children grow up I will ensure that they re-unite with their father. Alternatively, if he wants to take them, let him go to court.”

More crises

Mrs. Favour Ozor is also one of those who felt bitter about the multiple marriage doctrine. She kicked against the polygamy doctrine like most women of the church. When the new doctrine was introduced, she held to the love that kept her marriage despite 10 years of childlessness. When it was obvious that her husband had decided to marry another wife, Mrs. Ozor protested and by way of punishment, she was asked to go to the village until she repents. “My husband sent me packing because I protested that he should not marry another woman. This man stood by my side for 10 years of childlessness until God gave us a baby boy. The boy was barely a year when the problem started. Since my husband sent me back to the village, I left the church. He took my baby who was about two years but with the help of the welfare department, I got him back.

Another ex-member Leo told Saturday Sun that he left the church when strange doctrines were introduced. “It was a good church before the present GO came after the death of the founder. My sister was a victim, she was forced to marry a member of the church and when she agitated when the issue of a second wife came up, she was sent packing while her baby was taken. It is really a pity.”

In his defence

While some are embittered by the new doctrine, others eulogize and pray that the other churches will take a cue. Lagos area pastor, Ikechukwu Elden was contacted on phone and he described such information as false and a ploy to destroy the work of God.

“These are all tissues of lies from the pit of hell within the camp of some men that covenanted with the devil to harm the work of the Lord through a certain newspaper publication and we have made our stand very clear through our spokesman. Almost all of these fabrication are lies. You know when the work of God is going on and the devil does not fight it, it means that it is not the work of God. It is not surprising that the devil will use these men who have fallen out of the grace of God. It is very unfortunate but it is not surprising. It is blasphemy.”

On the polygamy doctrine, Pastor Ik said: “We have made it very clear that there is no where in the Bible that God condemns polygamy. In the book of I Timothy chapter 3v1 - 2, it is stated there. People are quoting Matthew chapter 19 vs. 6 and saying that Jesus said that it is one man, one wife. Jesus never said that rather He was answering the question on divorce not polygamy. This is the truth people do not know, that doctrine came from Babylonian governor not from the true church of God. “Saint Paul because of the issue at hand, made it clear to some particular set of people but that was because of the contingencies of the time.

The scripture ought to be known. Any law that God has given there is a purpose and mind of God for giving that law. The problem people have today is that they know not the mind of God as it is today. We are favoured of God at this point in time and in our generation to know the mind of God. Therefore, we stand to say that we are one living church of the true God and we speak for the truth as it is. God stands by us to confirm it.”

Does the doctrine of multiple marriage partners apply to the women? And Pastor Ik said: “that is not what God is saying, the woman was created for the man so it is no place in the mind of God that the woman will marry more than one husband.”

On how the wives would live in peace among themselves, he said: “In the church of the living God, everyone is supposed to have the holy spirit and having the spirit, it teaches all the truth to know the will and mind of God. She will not be uncomfortable doing the mind of God and abiding in the family that God has put her. Agitation is coming from ex-members that the devil is using. It cannot come from any genuine child of God that has the spirit of the living God”

For another member, Kenneth Okpala, Pastor Harrison was sent by God to deliver them from darkness and ignorance.

Business / The Power Of Goals by chrisobas(m): 4:41pm On Apr 13, 2011
Whether you want to try to do something as simple as lose a few

pounds, or something as complex as starting your own business, it is

absolutely important to create and set goals, and then stick to them.

Goals are what make us strive to become better and to continue to

press onward so we can have the things we want or be the person

we have always wanted to be.

By setting goals, we create a sort of “visionary prize” for ourselves

that helps us stay on track. Without having a goal in mind, the final

result does not appear to be as clear. If we come up with some goals

and then stick to meeting them, it’s amazing what we can achieve.

There are many things you can do to help you reach your goals, and

with some simple advice and a bit of hard work, your dreams no

matter how big or small can come true.

Why Goals are Important

Goals are important because they help to give you clarity of the final

result. For example, if you want to lose 50 pounds, setting small,

incremental goals can help encourage you and keep you moving in

the right direction.

Once you reach your final goal, a true feeling of achievement takes

hold and you gain courage to try something else. Perhaps it may also

encourage you to do something much more bold, like go rock

climbing or learn a new sport. Small goals are wonderful stepping

stones towards helping us reach that final outcome.

Aside from helping you move towards the right direction, setting goals

make you more accountable to yourself. If you hadn’t set a personal

goal, there is no repercussion if you falter. On the other hand, if a

goal is already put in place, you can begin to create some rules and

boundaries to help you stick to it.

Let others know about your goal and keep them informed of your

progress. This way, someone else is aware of what you are working

toward and can help to encourage you. Any goal is designed to help

you be responsible for the mistakes you make, or for any learning

curves you might experience along the way. It helps keep us focused
with our eyes on the prize, and allows us to better understand what it

is we are trying to achieve.

Keep in mind that most successful people began their journey with

some kind of goal in mind. No famous business owner, movie star, or

sports hero began their journey expecting everything to simply fall

into place the way they wanted it. Instead, most likely they decided

what they wanted in advance, and then worked hard to get there. The

same can be applied to us in our day to day journeys: if we want

something big to happen, WE have to make it happen. This is where

the role of setting and sticking to goals comes in.

I have a well written ebook that teaches how to make some good money in no time selling information in the form of ebook. I can

authoritatively write and speak on this because it is what I do for a living even though I am a graduate. Send me a mail at

successfromgod@gmail.com and you will receive a quick reply. God bless

The idea of making money is something most people have but just don't know how and when to start. Making money could be very easy and still very difficult depending on what approach you apply.

Do you know that the small knowledge you have is a great asset? What can you do very well that will make people look for you again and again?

The essence of this article is to help you itemise them the best way I can in a very summarized form.

1. Barbing of hair: Do you have the skill of barbing peoples hair? Most people do not like going to the barbing saloon to cut their hair maybe because they just can't face the stress of going out, waiting for their turn etc. You can capitalize on this opportunity by having a mobile number where people can call you up for this service in their home or place of convenience. Just imagine cutting 10 peoples hair a day for the rate of 250 naira , that is 2500naira multiplied by 30days, this gives 75000naira. You can start this up by compiling the names of people that might need this service, call them or visit them to let them know what you are into. I bet you it won't take up to 3 days before you start getting lots of customers.

2. Decoration: Who does not like good thing? Some people will give out lots of money to beautify their houses, wedding grounds, meetings, birthdays and lots of social events. If you are good at decorating, why waste your time sitting back and wasting that skill? Fridays and Saturdays are major days where people love organizing events. You can start up by going to such places and helping out. When they see your handiwork, they will appreciate you, do this for up to two or three times for free. But you should try to look for an opportunity to put down your contact on a visible place. For example, you can say "DECORATED BY CHRIS, 08025, ". When you are done with this free services, meet those that you worked for and tellthem that they can refer people to you for a reduced price, go out to look for people and tell them what and how well you can design their occasions by making referral to those you have worked for. The aim of you working for free initially was for working experience that your subsequent clients would ask for. Do this and see yourself make as much money as you would not believe.

3.Jokes: If you are humourous then you can make money. The idea is simple! Start by being an MC in a friends birthday party, do the best you can to make them want to forget themselves. At the end of the event tell them that you are available if any of them want an MC. Then you can start collecting little money from them. In no time you will see yourself doing this for big occasions. This was how the likes of Basketmouth, I go dye and all started. You do not need any penny to start.

4.Dressing/styling : Do you know that most people out there do not know how to dress? Some do not know how to match colours. They will give alot to have someone say "wear this with this". Some people even need someone to follow them up to a boutique to make selections. You can assist these people if you have a good sense of dressing and start making money from it. If you do it for Mr(s) A and he or she likes it then he or she might introduce you to Mr(s) B. Without even been introduced you can start up by going to people and give them your contact so they can reach you when they need help.

I have lots of ideas to dish out to you but it will be very stressful for me to put all of them down, so if you are interested in doing something that will yield you money and do not know how to go about it, please feel free to contact me on this number 08025316130 or 08063418294, my name is Chris. May God give you the needed idea. Amen.

Dance music rave and Dem Mama crooner, Timaya, has labelled the freshly released track, ‘I Don Know’ by producer cum performing artist, K Solo, as fraudulent. The Hip-Hop World Award winning singer, whose vocals were present on the track which premiered last weekend, denies ever being a part of the song on his Twitter page. ‘‘Pls my people, I didn’t record any song with ksolo, I have not seen him for the past nine months. My vocals on his song was copied from my song,’’ the self professed Egberi Papa 1 of Bayelsa tweeted in the morning of Tuesday, March 292011. Timaya also stated that he cannot remember recording any song with K Solo and suggested that the vocals were lifted from an old song he recorded at KSolo’s studio a long time ago. ‘I Don Know’ is the first official single off KSolo’s upcoming album, ‘Mr Pedigree’.
