They should get ready to be consumed by the inferno while the dogged and resilient country still stand.

Although the trend has been for long, I believe 2019 may just be too far. A little shake off at NUC can go a long way in saving that innocent prospective student a complete world of misery. It should begin now!

This is interesting. It's high time schools started churning out fully baked and knowledgeable graduates. We can't continue with that trend of trying to outpace one another in inanities such as those poor grades...

We will get the someday and I think we are on course already starting with 2019.

If this will send a strong message down the anal of Buhari then I'm in full support. The carnage and cleansing have to stop...

In a saner clime, the commander in chief would have honorably resigned but here we have someone that is still trying to rear his head in 2019 not knowing that everyone is fed up with him. #B2D in 2019.

This is beautiful...

Missionary schools have been in the forefront of educational growth and development in world, I just wish the ones in Nigeria will have a template for educational growth of the nation so that in the nearest future we would also look back and smile the way we are doing for Notre Dame.

Okay.

It's been long since the last time I was there.

But if they interlock alvan, will boys still be able to play soccer there?! shocked
Yes

when I was there boys were playing ball on the Alvan interlocked pitch the only problem is serious injury if one falls hard on that floor. Still inter-series competitions were organized there.

The problem with Unn is not about building buildings but equipping/furnituring. Check new Pharmacy building, empty.check the new structure adjacent Jimbaz and the one behind C. E. C They have been empty for years now.
You are absolutely right Bro, just like the faculty halls that have now been put to use it took departments years before they started using them and I bet in no distant time when new design comes up there will start demolishing them to erect such. UNN is good at that.

How far have they gone with the Post Graduate School building that somewhat looks like an ark in design? that building had been stalled/moribund for quite sometime before I left there, Hope construction has resumed there? That project was initiated by Prof Bartho.

Coldfeets:
Of course, I know.

I stayed in Franco during my days in UNN.

But I'm trying to recollect and I think eni njoku had a better stadium than Alvan.

And this stadium in the photo looks more like that of eni njoku than Alvan's...

But I could be mistaken...
The courtyard for Eni Njoku has been interlocked now, it's taking them forever to replicate same in Alvan.

2005. Okay....heard they have relocated them to the now 'completed' hostel along the road to Gate 2. What's the name?
Peter Odili PG hostel, I think the hostel was built by him, the former governor of Rivers State.

I saw the design of that senate building from the contractors and I was just astonished...... Is it Tetfund funded?
Definitely TETfund, although the school's IGR will play a huge part in the project.

Faculty of Art twin complex.
One of the faculties I so much admire in the school, always brooding intellects and brainiacs.

One of the female hostels. In Nigeria, when you talk about the place that have high regard for the female folks call out UNN, the way the school pampers that gender is on another level. The comfort in their hostel is unspeakable.
Talk about the boys hostels popularly called Franco republic? the distance from the campus Centre is a turn off already. I think the school had a major facelift for the hostels recently though.

Education › Re: Nairalanders Represent Your Universities - Photo Contest by christejames(m): 11:16am On May 04, 2018
The school new main gate at Nru, the distance from this gate to the campus centre is like making a journey from the village to the city. It is the southeastern main gate of the school...

UNN is the only school with too main gates, lol. The first main gate is more busy though cause that one leads to Nsukka town.

Education › Re: Nairalanders Represent Your Universities - Photo Contest by christejames(m): 11:14am On May 04, 2018
Nice pix there, your school is beautiful...

I rep UNN, it's unfortunate I'm not in school currently but the school is developing at an exponential growth rate. Would have loved to post pictures of the new imposing structures in the school with some completed, others still under construction whereas some are still in the pipeline.
below is the pix of the Vice Chancellor's office, the Senate building is underway.

Why are these South Africans xenophobic towards other Africans especially Nigerians?

they will answer you that Nigerians are drug peddlers as if those people selling those drugs sell them to themselves, is it not to their fellow South Africans? if the demand ain't there then there won't be any supply.

Left for me I will say most south Africans are battling with extreme case of paranoia.

RIP Bro.
Politics › Re: Harvard University Uses Nigeria As A Case Study Of A Failed African Country by christejames(m): 2:22pm On Apr 21, 2018
I believe the research is an empirical one filled with facts...

Nigeria is a glaring example of a failed nation. A nation still grappling with one of the basic necessities of life like water and power. A nation that was touted to be among the greatest in the world after five decades of Independence but today the nations that were tipped together with us like Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Chile have all galloped and trotted beyond our reach, currently we are going to those nations cap in hand begging for assistance. The country is a disgrace to nations that secured their independence in the '50s.
Our leaders think they are taking us for a ride and making fool of us but they don't know that the time for reckoning is near cause we have reached the rubicon.
