Gradually you guys are falling to Kanu's philosophy, something that you initially never wanted to hear about... Success and freedom truly begets many prodigies! |
This is surest the way to go. This will immensely add to the school's IGR with numerous ripple effect. The students are already presenting their wonderful proposals to the Hub. UNN anthem gives me ecstasy and euphoric feelings... I wish we can replace Naija anthem with it. We are Lions and Lionesses and we don't make noise, we just Roar! and growl (hummmmmm!!!! ). |
Story about your ordeal with our so called law enforcers... most times it would save one an ample time to just be jovial towards these lots whenever you are accosted by them. They've twisted the law in their favours such that standing on your right will seem as an affront and a ground to oppress and molest you the more. From your story if actually you never beat the red light, it's obvious they have colluded with the second driver in the favour to make you part with some huge sum as a fine. sorry about that ordeal once again. |
To keep sleeping... LOL! |
RIP to the legend. His book still evoke nostalgic feeling in me... |
ChimaAdeoye:lol... you are right sha. |
Digitron:The Church is quite large sha. With a basement as large as the Church auditorium. But they've been doing collections for its completion as far as I can remember, even collections for the Church agricultural university yet they haven't laid the foundation to more of envisioning its completion. |
Digitron:Beautiful city indeed... You beat me to that. Would have posted it yesterday but my phone has been acting up lately. Saw the pix captured by one of my Facebook friends; Uche. An art enthusiast. |
so this couple are still together? haven't heard much from him since he had his stint with the government house... I just pray this their union is finally sealed with a child. Happy Birthday Oshobaba |
my eyes love the colors of the snakes but what my mind is seeing is Meat! Meat!! Meat!!! ...i don join Lala for him ministry. |
He looks unperturbed... |
Don't mind all these Lagos -Ibadan media houses that see nothing beyond Ore. They think Nigeria starts and end within that circus and all other part of the country is a dead zone or more like it... the current VC is really doing a lot in area of radical transformation of the institution in both infrastructures and in academic. Thank God for this rebuttal! ...of the greatest Lions and Lionesses (roars! Huummmmmn!!!). See how sleeky our own incubation hub is. Watch out for the Den (UNN) cause more are still flowing from the pipeline. Lalasticlala this also needs to grace the homepage. |
Good news there. I pray it sees the light of the day... but which one is Anambration again? or has Anambra finally attained that status of a state as a polity or a city state? |
Yes I did and it's amazing... |
This is interesting... I know our military drill will not make the list |
You are somewhat right about that assertion because many of the East African Universities (like Makarere, Nairobi, Kenyatta I think) started counting their year of establishment from when they severed relationship from the collegiate system that they have been practicing to become a full-fledged university... I don't know why UI still sees her college years to University of London as part of when she was established as a full-fledged university. UNN, itself was established in 1955 but she started counting her years from when academic activities started in 1960, in October precisely during the euphoria of Nigeria Independence. |

sorry about that poor grade. But don't let that grade determine your final grade in school... I had something equivalent to yours in my first semester first year's result but I didnt let that determine my final result in school. Initially I was carried away in that semester due to the euphoria of being in the university but I had to seat my arse down and caution myself that my primary aim in this place is academic, I had to forgo so many things including social life (although I had mild experience of it there) and thereafter immersing myself deeply in iterative and rote reading of my course materials... I equally humbled myself learning from others or asking them to put me through in one or two hitches in the course of study. To God be the glory I graduated last year with 2.1... I think you can even do better. just make sure your subsequent results are far better than that. Good luck bro. |
spyder880:Yes bro... it will be a great idea. there are several locations in and around the town that you can establish your serene Tiger Estate. But I will suggest Ihuama, Ajuona (both in Obukpa) or areas around Obukpa layout, and hilltop due to their proximity to UNN. other interesting parts of the town that is witnessing gradual development are ugwuawarawa (with beautiful edifices being erected on the expansive escarpment), Ikenga layout (still waiting to be fully developed), also areas around Echara layout with other numerous areas that I can't lay my hands on now... NSK is growing with some new private tertiary institutions already berthing in the town especially around Echara, Ofulonu axis down to the ever busy industrial layout with her bustling building materials market therein. The town is on the path to glory! |
The school is beautiful... aside their outrageous school fees. Private schools are are fast climbing up the ladder to catch up with most public schools. |
spyder880:You are right big bro... Nsukka is in dire need of proper or modern planning. Most of the inner roads of the town are narrow like laneway, and people build haphazardly causing sprawl and blight development in the built up part of the town. notwithstanding, I have equally seen well planned layouts being developed. I just wish the town planning agency will just gird their loins and make the town develop in line with its master plan. |
basilo102:The construction work is almost there... they've done the first layer of the asphalt on the aspect of the road. I think the main work is ongoing currently. |
More pictures.. . Nsukka is growing in an exponential rate... Beautiful structures, and layouts, plazas with numerous fun seeking resorts springing up. The town is no longer 'the local rural town' but an urban area on the course of attaining a City status. The first pic is that Odenigbo road coming out from the government field/plyground area (a kinda Okpara square arena). The new Anglican Cathedral Church can be seen... The second pic shows the aspect of the Opi-Nsukka road yet to be completed. That is, the one in Nsukka Town itself. It can be noted that the government had embarked on solid underground drainage construction in this part of the several kilometers Opi-Nsukka road. This could be one of the reasons for the delay but as I type construction is ongoing currently in the town. With quality construction by RCC... The last pic is that of the fence of once popular and first hotel in the town; Ikenga Hotel. It can also be recalled that I complained about the sorry state of the hotel when I did my first tour round the town... But as it can be seen from the pix, the hotel is undergoing renovation and refurbishment. I'm highly elated about this development... I would have gotten the pix of the hotel itself but due to the presence of security men guarding the edifice and numbers of milling individuals around with their peering eyes made me to rescind that decision. I'm not a praisesinger of any of our politician but at this juncture I think Gburugburu is trying and doing something worthwhile. ..
|
More roads... ...but I didn't visit all the roads being constructed like the popular Orba road which leads to the new main gate of UNN. The last pic is that of the all important Ikenga junction... Nsukka is growing!
|
I don't know why it's only one of about fours pictures I'm uploading that is agreeing to upload. Let me try UC browser. .. The ones below are that of Urban girls/industrial area road. It can be recalled that I onced talked about this road urging the then government to step in.. . Thank God it's all glaring now. This is an all important road!
|
I don't know why the pictures are refusing to upload... let me keep trying. The ones below are that of the famous Opi-Nsukka road...

Afam4eva:Good day big bro... like I promised during the beginning of last month that I will be returning to NSK in about two weeks time and if I had the time I will take some pictures... I actually did.. Sorry this update is coming a bit late. it was due to some unforeseen circumstances. I managed to go to some sites of the government's projects in the evening and was being disturbed with calls from relatives to comeback that it was getting darker... please manage these amateur shots from me. The second and third pictures are from Ogurugu road; a very busy road in the town. the first and the last are from Odenigbo road. It can be seen that the govt marked these roads and have also erected streetlight posts in these major roads awaiting the fixing of the lamps. The roads also have pedestrian walkway... Modified: I think I will stick with UC here.. .
|
splenzard:Roars (hummmmmm)... we are the best. we don't make noise like these other universities... We do the talking in the field. Great Lions and Lionesses!!! |
Under Human geography; A Geographical Appraisal of Urban Growth. You can use any town or city as your case study... That was my project topic though. |
Afam4eva:I just hope what I came here for won't hold me back from doing that. notwithstanding, maybe when I return about two weeks time to finish up my unfinished business with UNN, then I might have ample time to do that. Cheers big bro!!! |
Stingman:so if people say they is nothing happening in the state you will believe? like you said, we all hope he does more and better. |
