Is like this boko boys have laid siege on the country's capital... Bubu will soon address the nation using his best world which turns him on always; 'enshua' as in ensure, to reiterate his support for the arm forces that have been churning out false report on the war against the insurgents. ...i just hope there is no casualty.

I domas didn't vote APC yet Ortom got more votes in Otukpo than Makurdi, Idomas didn't vote APC yet Dan Onjeh is on the verge of snatching David Mark's "birthright" from him. The OP is ignorant I must say. Btw, Otukpo is morethan an embarrassment to any Idoma person.
you absolutely right bro...
Politics › Re: Tiv Nation Has Been Betrayed by christejames(m): 1:59pm On Oct 02, 2015
How can you come here to cry foul why you are also guilty of such? In as much as I loath APC as a party, saying the Idomas didn't vote for them in large number is totally unfair. I still knw many Idoma people that are fanatic supporters of APC who canvassed and campaigned vigorously for the party during the last election. The Idomas are not fools, underdogs or lapdogs as you seem to portray them. One the other hand, the TIVs have been at the helm of affair of the state since the inception of this democracy but what have they done for the Idoma nation and other minor nations? Nothing other than lopsided appointment. Visit Otukpo; the second major urban area in the town, and see how impoverished the people and the place is. ...just a 'common' and 'noise makers' appointment by the president to represent the country as a minister from the Idoma part of the state you abruptly put on your spectacles running to nairaland (the arbiter) to cry foul and vent your anger. If you truly cherish the 'noise maker's' position why don't you exchange it with the state's governorship position? ...this your post reeks of greed.

OKKO:
My country home at (Nru) NSUKKA (Enugu State) is at the belle of a hill. At onset of rainy season, it is a bit warm inside the rooms but cool outside. We enjoy evening breezes under a bright moon and shiny scattered stars, at times, at night it would be as bright as a white fluorescent bulb...but at intervals a thick cloud covers the sky leaving us in temporal darkness- as we lie on mats enjoying the natural scenery, if it stays that way for about 15 to 20min, mummy will start waking us to go inside, its about to rain, yes and surely it will start drizlling and the rooms will become cool too.

Hammartan is extremely cold, windy, dusty and dry, mid rainy season is as well cold always. We experience double maxima of rain and a 2 wks August brake!

You may not like the soil, it is predominantly red, dusty and sandy (dirty sheos and fabric a lot) but my area is pebbles all through, it gets very cold in the early morning, punching our bare feet as if it has developed thorns.

An undulating hilly and plateau landscape (yet I have never seen a major erosion), covered with a half-sudan-half-guinea savanna kind of vegetation, (palm) trees and shrubs scattered over an extensive grass land. Oh! my home of orchards- the highest producer of all kind of fruits (apart from our Benue State neighbors) in Nigeria. I regret why we don't have major rivers, coasts or beach- save only River Adada!

Varieties of savanna animals, domestic and wide; of interest to me is various species of birds singing 2 hourly with a nature made roster, to entertain you with a dynamic melody apt for the prevailing weather condition.

Traditional dishes (I once wrote an article of about 80 of them), morals (especially of the girl child), education (home of finest secondary schools and University of Nigeria), cultural heritage (biannual masquerade festivals) religion (christianity and traditional) are all yours. NSUKKA!
nwanne, you have summarized everything one needs to know about Nsk in a single post. Hmmm, Nsukka shir' ike. Abum onye Obukpa...

With time brother, with time! smiley ... meanwhile let the development continue, i hope to add my own quota to the development of a modern igbo capital.

Please take pictures of the nsukka/ enugu country side, the thread on enugu is not doing much justice to her landscape.. we need to show case and sell enugu to the world positively, Nairaland is not only read by blue blood Nigerians, other people from different parts of the world go thru our threads.
you are right big brother...

then nsukka needs massive development, it should be a city for prime real estate. considering the weather, which of course is pretty rare in Nigeria, im considering investing in enugu when its ripe for me, as an architect and business man. nsukka can be a great place to build mansions, i mean prime mansions where the rich can always vacate to when needs be. oh i love Her greenery + her semi temperate climate (my be i'm wrong) , with the way enugu is developing, in few years time, we all as Nigerians will be proud to have her amongst our beautiful cities.

Imagine having this modern house in nsukka, her undulating lanscape, Rolling hills and Greenery, oh la la. this will be a new trend when the right people think in this direction.

Quote me anywhere.
LOL!!! NSK currently is developing rapidly in terms of private properties, there is this new area on a hill/escarpment opposite the old GRA, just around ugwuawara (where the finest hotels in that town are located), the kind of mansions and duplex individuals are building there no one needs to tell you that that place is sort of the new GRA. Nsk is developing as a fast pace through the help of affluent individuals... The town has two housing estate own by the state govt; one at Obukpa layout while the other is at Echara layout close to Umuakashi industrial layout... The major problem in the town is poor state of public infrastructures especially roads...

I don't think its as cold as Jos climate (don't even know how the climate in Jos feels like) but the weather in Nsukka is favourably mild especially around the hilly valleys, its not as harsh as normal weather elsewhere around Nigeria that I have been to (not even Enugu that is situated south of the town)... I have never seen or heard about grape being cultivated in NSK, not even from the agriculture faculty of UNN, although the faculty has this greenhouse where I believe most of this low temperature crops are cultivated (I am not in the faculty though). #my token!!!

Politics › Re: How Some Of The Roads Constructed By Gov Akpabio Now Looks. by christejames(m): 1:51pm On Sep 18, 2015
I can only see a flooded road from the pix, maybe the ditch constructed besides the road was not properly constructed which led to the spillover and then flooding... Not withstanding, maintenance of infrastructure is the bane of this country, I just wish our so called leaders that travel the various world cities almost on weekly basis could borrow a leaf from those cities on how infrastructures are catered to... We still have a long way to go cause this present crop of politicians leading us (even with the so called change mantra) are same rogue and embazzlers that we've been crying about!
Politics › Re: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by christejames(m): 10:15pm On Sep 17, 2015
Abakaliki nay Ebonyi is a gold mine, those of you thinking otherwise or belittling the city obviously have never been there. Just like what Happyjoe stated, if the govt of the state puts the development of the state first, between 4-8 years the city (Abakaliki) would be rivalry Enugu or Owerri in beauty. Just about five months ago, my department ( I was among) went to the city for a field work and I can tell you that many of my course mates where stunned and awed about the level of development in city because their misconception about the city prior to our journey was conspicously proved wrong when we arrived... Many even thought the city would be smeared with just 'face me I face you' buildings talk instead upstairs but when we got to the city centre there is this majestic ten storey building (though uncompleted then) glaring at us with other numerous magnificent edifice dotted accross the city. We lodged at Pastorial centre at old Enugu, the experience there was something else. Touring the city was fun!!! Abakaliki is developping in tandem with the coal city; beautiful roads (dual carriage) with flowers and also fine houses, pedestrial walkways or sidewalks beside the roads, somewhat clean city and also beautiful people especially the women... Umahi has even electrified the roads with street lights. Elechi really tried his best in bringing the city to limelight just that his trumpet was barely blown.

And this is the best reply you could come up with? Nigerias problem is indeed Illiteracy and if this trend thrives, nigeria is headed for unmitigated doom
