centje: You all gat joke. If UNN is not after merit, which University started post UTME? Who were the VCs through the years, under their watch, UNN became a shadow of itself?thank you brother. I am just stunned by what the other guy said, even comparing UNN to UNIZIK... Its uncalled for. In Nigeria as a whole the universities that can be compared to UNN is OAU, UNILAG, UI, ABU and maybe UNIBEN (in terms of quality education). UNN as a citadel of learning is transforming at a great pace, the school is not resting on her oars. I have so many anambra friends (and roommates) who said they would always choose UNN over UNIZIK. ...in terms of infrastructure the school is on the verge of claiming the title of the most beautiful university in the country nay the continent with masterpiece architectural building springing up at every nooks and cranny of the campus. One thing i love about UNN is that at every corner of its vast arable land (on soft green hill) u will find beautiful structures and manors built there. In my department alone, i know of lecturers that lecture at UNIZIK (part-time) shuttling btw UNN and UNIZIK on weekly basis talk more of other departments and our GSP lecturers. Talking of infrastructures ,do they even know that the past VC built a presidential lodge at Odim side (Obukpa part) of the school? That building is world class (with only few students aware of its existence i would taken a pix of it but where its located is far from by abode), do they also know that in all the classes in the school, the old school desk common to Nigerian tertiary institutions have been replaced with modern desk imported to the school? (when u seat on that desk u feel relaxed to learn) The classrooms have been equipted with electronic boards which our lecturers use to deliver lectures to us, if u visit our laboratories (especially faculty of biological sc) u would quiver to know that such labs exist in Nigerian uni let alone a govt one. I bet u when the new faculty of pharmaceutical sc is competed it would be one of the largest in the country (if not the largest) or is it the new post graduate complex that is nearing completion? (the complex would also be one of the largest PG complex), or the library the endless list goes on. UNN is going for all round development... I know many of you haven't visited the school, i bet u when u do u would be amazed and even compare the current school to Abuja in development. NB: UNN is the premier indigenous univarsity and wouldn't want her name to be soiled. GOD BLESS US ALL!!! |
spyder880: To restore the dignity of man.wow! That's my school! Just wish u could upload the new main gate, i would i done it but i lost the pix together with ma phone few weeks bad. ...is it not Enugu? We keep growing STRONGER!!! |
042 for life!!! ...not even ndi osuimi can stop that. |
Why is it that anything that is making wave both in entertainment and otherwise are always linked with superstition? ...quit such life biko, (though I'm not a fan of most Nigerian music) cause its not good for ur health. |
After some people would say Nigerian teachers are the worst on the continent. ...may God bless all teachers, its not easy building future leaders. |
Wetin we go call this one? |
So David Mark and other Benue politicians have finally made otukpo rice mill (the initial largest) moribund? ...the facility in otukpo rice mill currently is not producing to capacity. The whole structures there are just dilapidated and in deplorable condition. May God help us BTW kudos to GEJ, another feather has been added to his hat no wonder he would stay in office till 2019!!! |
Dreal1247: I wonder what the Madonna University is doing there. The school that was struggling with accreditation with Nigerian University Commission.you are just commuting fallacy of ambiguity. Thank God u said "...the school that was..." |
otil1: @ Chritjames. you deserve not admonition for you spoke kindly and from your heart.quite insightful and thoughtful... I just wish Sullivan can perform better but he is handicapped. Because the allocation from FG (which other states look forward to) which would have been used to transform the state randomly is very meagre. There is nothing we can do again but to hope and pray for better successor because his (Sullivan's) tenure is gradually coming to an end. May God be with us!!! |
In as much as Sullivan still have other projects to achieve that would bring succour to the masses, he has performed far better than his counterparts both past and present. We should learn to give credit when it is deserved. If he chooses not to even beautify enugu metropolis (like most Nigerian politicians would have done), no one would incarcerate him, the highest they can do is to chase him with EFCC (which would eventually die down after few months). We are commending him for the little that we have seen cause corruption in Nigeria is just gettin worse. |
Who is the MOD that is denying this thread front page? Its unfair ooh!!! |
basilo101: New Radio Nigeria FM station jst opened in Nsukka, located at Ugwuoye. Dey r stil playing music only. I will get dia name and frequency laterits VOICE FM 96.7 ... I believe its an FRCN station. |
kenis: You are correct. Those places they call forest are villages that has bungalows and some story buildings in them. Very much of those trees are economic trees and our people intentioally plant them compound and nearby vacant lands. You will get supriced at the kind of 'mansions' you would see if you drive inside those 'forest'.yea, there are mansions and duplex there (not exaggerating), even the style of mansions that are littered over Gwarimpa estate Abuja, individuals are replicating them at home, i was shock when i saw those buildings there (Ndigbo doesn't settle for less). I love the natural milieu of Nsukka as a whole, a place where nature and man dwell without interference, the species of birds in Nsukka are just unique, the interesting part is that those birds can pearch close to u without fear. |
OkijaAmaka: i dont like this Estate, igbos dont live in squatters, this is land wastage for crying out loud, if in 20 years the roofs turned brown will start seeing an Ibadam emerging from the East.i said in my previous post that individuals are building better houses there na, cause there are still large virgin-land to develop (and i even saw beautiful houses being constructed by well off citizens). That thick bush u saw in that other guy's pix doesn't mean that place is an undeveloped forest (Nsukka itself is like the mangroove forest of Nigeria with taller trees) they are also good housing that forest (even 3 storey building... I'm not exaggerating) cause i used the road that passed through that forest. Even if you take the skyline pix of UNN you will still see huge trees (like forest) that doesn't mean the school is underdevelope. The houses in that Obukpa housing estate is just for low income earners and i can tell u it is well built ( with individuals adding other features to the houses depending on income-like fencing as aforementioned), those that want posh house can buy land there and build to their taste. ITS BETTER THAN NONE!!! |
Evergreen123: Have ppl settled in that place?yea people have started settling there. Even when i passed the other day i saw some men fencing their own house there. I believe some of them are the university staff cause that place is closer to the campus. |
basilo101: Aerial pic of obukpa estate Nsukka, property of enugu state housing corporationyou got it right brother... Nice pix! |
passion007: ^^^i hope so too. Thanks big bro! |
To be honest i have never missed a class right from my primary to secondary school days, Even if I'm sick (until i am permitted home by my teacher that i can called that day a "missed day"). My parents were so strict especially my dad, i could still remember when i was in primary two (or so) i delayed and went to school late. To add salt to injury i was driven back home when i got home i unfortunately met my dad (he hasn't gone to work then) and the man just lucked me up in the room (cause if i was allowed outside i will play till twilight). Fortunately the back door was always locked from inside so i used that door (if i want to know whether the sun is still blazing *wink*) but didn't go out cause if I'm caught by my dad i go chop Cain tire!!! |
I didn't know that our lionet (wireless) would be that fast ooh *LOL* i had more pix but i deleted them out of frustration cause in the village yesterday after remaining one kilobyte to upload it would just stop abruptly. I AM SORRY about that... *SAD* |
centje: ^^^please re-post the pictures when data service is good. Thanks a bunch!let me try now that I'm in school.
|
I didn't even know that covenant university is among the cheapest universities ooh, or is the OP not getting his facts right? |
I have tried my best to upload the pix to no avail, even the last one i uploaded was distorted. I would and upload it with wireless when i get back to school but until then make i go prepare for mass cause its Sunday. HAPPY SUNDAY everyone!! |
On my way to the village i passed the obukpa housing layout (beach layout) of the enugu state housing development corporation. What i saw there can be taken to a more greater height by the government. The layout has its low cost houses (although individuals are erecting their own beautiful edifices that suit their status there like the second pix), football pitch and other facilities. The major problem there is the deplorable state of inner roads (just like everywhere else in the town). If only the govt can construct the inner roads there and the adjoining roads with street light i think the potentiality of that place would just be unravel.

I love my performing governor so much!!! I love the way he works silently letting those who he is governing to see for themselves and also commend. He has fulfilled one of his promises especially that of rural electrification. I went to my community (village) today to spend the weekend with my big aunt (older than my mum) i saw new electricity lines, new transformers (which i have seen before now), poles and other equipment. My people have been giving the testimony about improvement in power supply (although when i came there was power outage). Its a good thing cause my people haven't had it so good before. Below are some pix!

The university market road that most of u are portraying here is different from the one in the pix. The one that most of u are portraying is Enugu road while the one in the pix is university market road beside the school main gate. Currently i am in school and i havent heard of such news. If true RIP to the dead and quick recovery to those injured. |
Evergreen123: yesthanks! |
That's nice, congratulation to him. He was a true lion from the den that is making it despite all odds. Kudos to him. |
Spyder, where is that KFC located, is it polo park mall? |
I was born and brought up in the north, precisely Benue. Currently schooling in the east. I LOVE NORTH so much!!! |
Sorry to say, Enugu state police car is way finer than that cab talk more of coal city cab or shuttle. This is a conspicuous evidence of fraud. I am not into cars but i know the worth of that car won't be up to 500000 talk more of 1500000. Lets try and get it right please, it pays to be honest. |
