What do you expect from a prayer warrior mod? He's trigger happy.

hod898: Guy it depends on the kind of phone that u use and to an extent, the area.
1. Torchlight: very good with all networks.
2. Java phone: most areas have bad networks especially mtn and airtel. However, etisalat always have a fast browsing and streaming + good network, even if the network strength is low. Glo is also very good.
3. Symbian phone: moderately cool with all networks.
4. Android phone: network ain't a problem for CORRECT ANDROID PHONE users as they can always activate the 3G network.
The funny thing with all these networks is that once you get out of your house and into the mainroad, you will see a sudden boost in network strength... Very annoying.
Other times, a CHINA phone might have network but phones like nokia java phones will have zero coverage.

Yeah this is so true. I can't browse with Mtn on my java phone but etisalat is fast on it. But when I use Mtn on my Android and activate 3g I'll have no reason to complain.

Kinda sucks though.

I know you might not get to read this but still I have to try...

As stated in my post to you here... I have two complaints to make, which I will elaborate on, in two separate posts. My complaints are:

1) No formal avenue for reporting moderators when they use their powers arbitrarily.
2) The section is greatly skewed to favour 'Christianity' or better still protestantism.

1) No formal avenue for reporting moderators when they use their powers arbitrarily.

If the above is true then it only shows a weakness in the design in management controls over Validity (V). The goals of any design effective control is to achieve C,A,V,R i.e

1) Completeness (C)
2) Accuracy (A)
3) Validity (V)
4) Restricted Access (R)

I want to believe that goals (1), (2) and (4) are considerably okay because it seems there is a 'log' for every post made in nairaland (takes care of completeness), the data input seem to be accurate and access is restricted for certain cadre of members i.e 'ordinary' members don't have access to the functions reserved for mods; mods don't have access to the functions reserved for super mods etc.

However, in the area of validity, going by the comments made yesterday, there seems to be a loophole that needs plugging, especially as it pertains to the validity of some actions the mods may mete out to 'ordinary' members e.g unjust bans.

It is my view that it would be greatly unfair to members when erring mods are not called to order when they are caught using the extra buttons they have access to arbitrarily. Even in soccer, there is a process for calling erring referees to order, despite their seeming status as 'demi gods' on the field of play.

If this section is to achieve it's goals then there must be an avenue for members to seek redress, backed up by appropriate evidence, even though the actions of the mods might not be overturned; but at least the mods would get a warning for it (which probably would be done in the mod section), and the aggrieved member assured that appropriate actions would be taken.

The Traditional Religion Worshipers Association, (TRAWSO), Osun State chapter, has issued a note of warning that the Joint Task Force (JTF) alone is incapable of fighting and winning the terror campaigns of the Boko Haram in the North.

TRAWSO assured that it would only carry out some sacrifices, which would automatically compel the recalcitrant insurgents to lay down their arms, if the Federal Government was ready to opt for their intervention.

Leader of the traditionalists, Chief Awopetu Idowu, stated this at a press conference organized as part of activities marking this year's Isese Day, Tuesday, August 20.

Chief Awopetu contended that rather than attribute the want on destruction of lives and properties that the country has witnessed since the insurgency commenced in 2009 on religion as the members and leaders of the radical sect had claimed, the massacre of innocent Nigerian has political undertone and, therefore, charged the Federal Government to formally approach traditional worshipers to solve the problem.

Pitching his tent with him was the president, the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the association, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, who also said the insecurity facing the country could be resolved without the use of fire arms as there was appeasement that could be made to make members of the sect lay down their arms.

That page only has 1000 views, and yet the comment INSTANTLY received 20 likes. The 'viewing this topic' section is not at all impressive.

I was looking at the page when it had about 800 views and no comment had that many likes, and the next minute this one comment had 20 likes. This is just a heads up on something worth investigating. Considering the amount of people who have multiple accounts on Nairaland, it would not be surprising if some of them are using those multiple accounts to artificially inflate the likes on certain comments.

Does it violate any of the present rules? No.
Is it in the spirit of the website? That's up to the mods, supermods, and the administrator.

It's now 33 likes last I checked.
