Music/Radio › Niyola,barbara;any Hope For Them? by chronique(op): 1:10pm On Feb 12, 2008
hi fellas, just tot i should start this top.was watching one of our urban music channels yesterday and i saw the video clip of niyola's call my name.honestly,i feel sorry for this girl considering the amount of hype dat surrounded niyola's debut single.we all tot we were about to witness another mary j blige of some sort or probably alicia keys.the video even got a premiere stat on soundcity.at the end of the day,she just got messed.the song is not a bad song, neither is it a hit.listening to the lyrics, its suppose to be a party joint but i must confess that even a lame man wont attempt dancing to it.it actually doenst hold up.the video must have been edited by one of those point beats amateur, considering the fact that most tymes, its always a fam affair.am talking from experience.we once had a joint produced by joe kaynieand he reccomended abounce as a director.truth is the video never made it far even after spending money on a higher definition camera.back to the video, its all spoilt with so much colour that you cant really appreciate the beauty of this young chap.no doubt, this will obviously take her some tyme to get back in da groove.my verdict is dat wit proper managemnt, she shuld do beta.

wat about barbara?i think she shud pick up some kind of employment somewhere else.she cant sing;thats a verdict.the most annoying aspect is her trying to sound like cassie.ojb also goofed by trying to make the beat sound like cassie's.this not so good at all considering the super star producer stat he has gotten wit tu face.its just my op.you guys can tell me wat you think.
Music/Radio › Re: Sauce Kid Is Better Than Modenine, ruggedman, freestyle Eldee,2shots All Of Em by chronique(m): 8:28pm On Feb 04, 2008
honestly speaking,i feel so embarassed to hear peeps who are supposed to be lyricists jumpimg at each other on someone else'sshit.it doesnt make sense at all.who is been paid to hype sauce and who is paid to run him down?u guys should just pass a com on wat u think abt his shit and get on wit ur shit.all dis shit u guys r doing makes little or no sense if i must be sincere.u r just making a fool out of ur self.2morrow wen u gart beef wit sauce,he will point to the fact that u were once a muta fcukin fan to him on nairaland.here's some piece of advice;try hornin ur skillz and stay true to urself rather than being some errand boy on nairaland to someone who probly doesnt dig you.one love to all of my peeps out there.ee go betta
Music/Radio › Re: Is Ruggedman A Lyricist: What Is Lyricism by chronique(m): 3:04pm On Jan 22, 2008
i hope we don't listen to music because of sentiments or some kind of stupid segregation that doesn't exist.i hope true hiphop heads know what to expect from a lyricist.basic rules:punchlines and metaphors, beats must me on point and deep sense of poetry.listen to 9 ova and ova again and you see all of this in him.he has the intellectual capability to cap it up.its really hard to find fault with the bro when he rhymes.rugged man got some stuff but u can really pick out loop holes from his lines.now check this out: what do u make out of a line that says "i rap for mechanics and i spit for shoe makers"?in the real sense of hiphop as far as naija is concerned, how many mechanics have you seen playing hard core rap or how many shoe makers listen to rap?is it the aboki that cannot even communicate effectively in pidgin English that would listen to this rap?as far as i am concerned, that is a slap across the face to true hiphop heads.listen to the likes of nas and Jada kiss and know why dey are dope.the deep sense of poetry is always there.that is what 9 is like to the naija industry.rugged man's dis on eedris was more of a comic line than what a true lyricist should have done.from the first day i listened to " its about to get ugly",i knew 9 would someday rule.i think emcees should just try to take their game higher to his level dan pull him down because i see this bro defying the laws of gravity that says "what goes up must come down".for me,9 is the best around.u can holla sauce kid next and cap it up wit an over dose nigga.that is where we stand right now

rap is basically "rhythmically applied poetry"

all of dis has notin to do wit how many albums x and y gat.wat is the content and the message?period.
