The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will today begin the trial  of a former National Security Adviser (NSA), Mr. Sambo Dasuki, ex-Minister of Finance Bashir Yuguda and a former Director of Finance in the Office of the National Security Adviser, Mr. Shuaibu Salisu, as well as  six others for the alleged misappropriation of N10billion.
  [b] The others are a former Executive Director of NNPC, Aminu Baba Kusa, former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Bafarawa, Sagir Attahiru, Dalhatu Investment Limited, Acacia Holdings Limited, and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited.
The N10 billion was allegedly distributed to delegates to the Presidential Primary Election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Other expenditures include an alleged N13.570 billion “agreement”  between Mr. Dasuki and the ex-Director of Finance;  the transfer of N1.45 billion to Acacia Holdings Limited’s account for special prayers; the N2.1 billion given to DAAR Investment and Holding Company Limited for publicity;  the N170 million for a four-bedroom duplex; the N380 million to support re-election of members of the House of Representatives; and N750 million paid into Reliance Referral Hospital Limited’s account for special prayers; N670m paid to a publisher; N260 million transferred to Tony Anenih and N345 million traced to a former President of the Senate, Sen. Iyorchia Ayu. .........

[/b] That list is not an exhaustive one of those criminals who received proceeds of the 2015 election bazaar.... Many of those names had individuals of no political worth.

It's like you are not getting the drift. The monies paid to those people were for certain reasons according to them. My question is: what was hamzat capable of delivering to Jonathan in 2015 to worth being given $5m? He wasn't a strong grassroot politician and he only came into the scheme of things as far as Lagos governorship was concerned, cos he was hand picked by fashola and being bank rolled by him. In essence, he neither had the political clout to influence things in Lagos, nor the money or experience.

Lol. Buhari should come and tell us what was inside the 53 suitcases he wanted to smuggle into the country as at that time. Who knows, it might just have been Aisha's pants he was trying to bring in.

": Hamzat was Fashola's anointed candidate to succeed him in 2015 . Although Hamzat who was then Commissioner of Works lost at the 2015 APC primaries. I am not sure why he would choose to lie he was offered such if he wasn't. He was a nobody capable of delivering anything significant to Jonathan in Lagos as at that time and that is an undisputable fact. He wasn't a political force in Lagos to reckon with, and is still not a political force in Lagos as at today.

When I read the news from hamzat, I had a really good laugh. As at 2014/15, "nobody" knew hamzat and as a matter of fact, I only recently got to know him during the Lagos apc crisis that produced sanwo olu as the governorship aspirant for apc. Why Jonathan would want to offer an unknown hamzat with no political clout $5m as at 2015, is something hamzat should tell lagosians.

Under Jonathan when the economy was better, naira was stronger, people had jobs and were living better, we were consuming 30m litres per day. Under buhari and his bad economy that has sent people out of jobs, weakened the naira, and has seen Nigeria become the poverty capital of the world, we are consuming 50m litres per day. People who support buhari are not just outrightly stupid and dumb but also dishonest and fraudulent.

One thing you are forgetting is the level of demand there is for Dangote’s products.

And the sophistication of his dealership network - Dangote is an African/SE Asian phenomenon- this is a man that has built plants in other African countries and some SE Asian countries

Rather than preach a boycott you should be aiming to be like him.

Politics aside - we need more people like Dangote that would bring a good name to our country.

His political affiliations should never be a bone of contention.

In the next few years, Dangote’s refinery would come on stream - a massive investment that would finally put an end to our importation of petrol - a shameful practice.

By the way, Otedola is selling most of his shares in forte oil

I don't have intentions of being like dangote. I have dreams and visions of being a successful business man. I built my current business from the scratch with no single penny coming from anybody. It's being a story of success from baby steps into having a thriving business that did not fold up under this incompetent regime(despite the fact that some people I know in my line of business are out of business).

Dangote has a right to support whoever he wants and Nigerians have a right to boycott his products and patronize other brands. Nothing is cast in stone.

You need cement and you need diesel - too many small businesses rely on men like Dangote and Otedola.

There are other cements in the market. Lafarge, BUA, and the likes. The problem is that most dealerships already sell dangote cement. If dealerships can buy more of the others, the sales from dangote would drop. No doubt about the fact that we cannot completely boycott dangote cement but one thing is sure and that's the fact that we can reduce our patronage of his products. When it comes to his consumable goods like pasta and the likes, there are more than enough alternatives to choose from. Again, a 100% boycott cannot be achieved but we can reduce our patronage of his products. Same goes for forte oil. If you can afford to fill up your tank elsewhere other than at forte oil stations, we can do something.

Boycotting their products doesn't mean we would be able to do that 100%. It just means we have to try as much as possible to avoid patronizing them and this would surely impact on their sales.

Boycotting anything that has to do with these two, should be the way forward.

It's so bad that our soldiers are being wasted and routed and annihilated by terrorists to the point that they now run away from battle and are absconding from their duties. Even mobile policemen who were being drafted to the theater of operation in the north east, absconded with their rifles for fear of being killed... We can go on and on and on and still won't exhaust all the failings of the buhari government. Yet, some idiots that call themselves prophets would come and start campaigning subtly for the disaster called buhari, in the name of giving prophecy. They have come again with their lying spirit. That's how father mbaka, Tunde bakare and Co led gullible citizens to vote in this epic failure. I'd like them to come out and tell us how all the evil and nonsense that has happened under buhari, is the work of God and was ordained by God. I'm waiting.
