I don't do it, the network does and truthfully I sometimes get a Nat type 3 on mtn as well but most times I get a type 2, just depends

I currently use mobile hotspot(Mtn and airtel) for online gaming on my ps4 . though I occasionally get disconnected from gaming session but I still enjoy a smooth or near smooth experience.(FIFA 18)
I checked my connection and discovered it is NAT 3(strict). I understand d experience will be better if it's nat 2 or 1,especially if I want to play online injustice 2 or fps.u might also not be able to connect to friends easily on nat 3
any suggestions on how to go about getting a better NAT connection.


PS: I av checked Google and YouTube......I will appreciate local experience/advice.

Try mtn , the network has Port forwarding so you'll be getting a Nat type 2 most times and type 3 on occasion

I'm equally experiencing the same shitty problem from crappy Airtel, and I didn't waste time switching to mtn... Airtel is getting worse by the day if you ask me,adieu Airtel

Mtn gives me a Nat type 2 all the time cause they network has Port forwarding so online multiplayer for me is a breeze, battlefield 4 on PS3 anyone.

Without online game play, it's not worth it, cause most gamers play alone these days and without PSN or Xbox live gaming alone will never be fun...so I'll rather buy the overpriced disc until PSN is possible

How much to jailbreak a PS4 and inject like 6games on it

If you are rooted, download "terminal emulator" from play store and type the following lines

i) "su" without "" marks and tap enter key and grant super user access

ii) after granting the access type this "getprop | grep dns" without the "" marks, tap enter and take note of your current dns

iii) next line type "setprop net.dns1 8.8.8.8" without the "" marks and tap enter

iv) type "setprop net.dns2 8.8.4.4" without the "" marks and tap enter

v) lastly, type the line "getprop | grep dns" it should have changed...

NOTE: if you reboot your phone, you will have to go through this steps again

So I have to do all this dance all over again once I reboot my phone, doesn't it save automatically once it's done and save on terminal emulator??

If your phone is rooted, you should try changing your dns to Google public dns, worked for me

a good speed with a nat type 3 is still junk. I recently bought ntel thinking I will get a type 2, the speed recorded in my area was above 60mbps, I could login easily to psn but nat type was still 3... Its sad though...

Maybe so,my 9mobile also give a Nat type 3 on PSN,I've been trying to find a way to get a Nat type 2 all to no avail so gat no choice but to continue with it most of the data services providers in naija don't really give subscribers the latitude to forward Port so they can enjoy a seamless online game play, it's sad really

Someone should confirm the Psn nat type of airtel for me..

That will be a Nat type 3, unfortunately Airtel doesn't have Port forwarding unlike mtn where you'll in most cases get a type 2 but it takes a lot of tries to login to your PSN account... Airtel is not bad though despite this shortcoming provided the signal is good in your environment
