UNICEF shared this inspiring story of a young female Welder, Rosemary Amposah from Bechem, Ghana.

"My mother said I should become a policewoman, a nurse or a doctor. She said those are the jobs that people respect," Rosemary said. "When I left high school, there was very little to do. I worked at a filling station selling petrol but had very little fulfillment.

I always asked myself, what if this company collapses or the owner decides to sack me? My father brought me here to learn welding. My mother hated the idea and always compares me with my sister who went into nursing training. But my dad supports me. Everybody says it’s a man’s job. In my class, there are fifteen boys and I was the first girl to join them. I walk a very long distance to get to school and each time, I get someone who passes a negative comment. Like the last time, one man saw me and said if I continue with this job I can’t get married and it would be difficult to give birth.I think they are trying to pull me down but I’m not interested."

Barely a week after a 35 year old Nigerian businessman, Ikejiaku Chinedu, was beaten to death by guards of a private security firm situated on the outskirts of Polokwane, Limpopo Province of South Africa, at about 8p.m on Tuesday July 25th, two other Nigerians, Gideon Ogalaonye and Nnamdi Michael have been killed in the country.

According to Ikechukwu Anyene the president of the Nigeria Union in South Africa, one of the victims, Gideon Ogalaonye who hails from Onitsha, Anambra was allegedly shot dead while on a visit to the home of his daughters while Nnamdi Michael from Enugu state was allegedly stabbed to death by a Zimbabwean who wanted to steal his mobile phone. The Zimbawean has been arrested by the South African police.

28-year-old Stage actress Agharese Emokpae popularly known as A’rese has won the first season of The Voice Nigeria.

A’rese comes from a creative family. She has been doing music theatre ever since she graduated from Washington and Lee University in 2010. She has starred in various musicals and theatre productions in both Nigeria and The United States.
It was a nail-biting finale as A’rese and Chike made the Top 2. They performed “Halleluyah” by Jeff Buckly. and “Mama” by Kiss Daniel respectively.

In many African communities today; children, teenagers and young adults are braving obstacles to go to school, get educated, at least to change the narratives in their family. This is one of such. Kudos!

It's been a week of the unusual in PTI, Effurun, Delta State. Student have suffered the unavailability of two essential things, Power and water. The school management had earlier promised to fix the issue but it seems they are taking the students for granted.

There is currently a plot cooking in the school to stage a protest and stop all academic operations till the issues of Power and Water are rectified.

Speaking to chuzzyblog.com, a student who prefers to remain anonymous said;

"The situation is alarming and it's really unfortunate that the school management is taking us from granted. Can you imagine that for 5 days, we've not had light and water. Students can't have their bath, so many of us writing our project are stranded cos there is no power to work with our laptops.

We have to walk a long distance to get water to bath. How much can you carry when you have such distance to cover? We end up carrying just a bucket at least to bath.

We can't read at night, and that's the only time we have! A lot of us have lectures from 8am to 5pm. Please we are begging the school management and the Federal government to do something about this asap"


Meanwhile, the school's SUG is working round the clock to fix this. The School P.R.O, Comr. Jonathan, related to the students this morning that they are working tirelessly to make sure everything is resolved.

This is really a sad experience, we hope something will be done pretty soon!

[b]Uche Ogar's invalid CoR: You can't build something on nothing
Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you this day, two documents. Judge for yourselves which of them is real and fake. Compare and contrast the Valid and invalid. Original and forged.
Before you do that, permit me to give you the background of how it all started.

There was a governorship election in Abia State on April 11th, 2015. That election was declared inconclusive by INEC on the grounds of irregularities in some local government areas in the state. That election failed to produce a clear winner despite that Dr Okezie Ikpeazu of the PDP was already cruising home with a wide margin of votes against Dr Alex Otti of APGA.

INEC called for a supplementary election in the affected LGAs on April 25th, 2015. After the election of April 25th, a winner in the person of Dr Ikpeazu of PDP emerged as Governor-elect for Abia State, and he was issued with a certificate of return, bearing the two dates (April 11and 25) that elections held.

Uche Ogar did not contest any of the elections. He could not have because, as a matter of fact, his name was never submitted to INEC as a candidate by any political party.

As far as the 2015 Abia Governorship elections are concerned, Mr. Uche Ogar, is and remains an interloper. He is not known by moral and electoral law in the governorship election. This is another reason he is invalid and will continue to possess an invalid document.
The election that produced the Governor of Abia State in 2015 is the April 25th election, and not the inconclusive April 11th election. If Ogar had contested the election, he would have known this fact. He would have also realized that the document issued to him by some agents of INEC is invalid. But as someone on the fast-lane, he lost his sense of reasoning.

You can now understand why the failed civilian coup was plotted. You can also understand the rush by Ogar and his cohorts to invade the government house. But the coup failed. This conspiracy and evil plot has failed.

This just happened at Aba-Owerri road, just around Rhema University in Aba, Abia State. The reason for the collision is not known at the moment as people are trying to clear the road to reduce the gridlock on that major road! According to an eye witness, there was no casualty despite the intensity of the damage on the truck! More photos below:-

For Awopeju Olaniyi Philips aka King Phillipiano, it was fame or nothing as the self-professed herbalist stormed the Ultima Studio in his full traditional regalia to slug it out with other music enthusiasts in the Lagos audition of MTN Project Fame West Africa season 9.

Adorned in beads, robes, animal skin and a horsetail to match, the chap claims his costume represents the cultural diversity and the unity of the African continent. Like many others who thronged the Ultima Studio, he had the singular objective of reaching musical fame on the MTN Project Fame platform.

However, for this feat to be achieved, King Phillipiano believed his costume would prove his seriousness to the judges. Like the celebrity he dreamt to be, his presence attracted paparazzi on the yellow carpet.

However, the fame King Phillipiano sought wouldn’t come cheaply for as he had to showcase his vocal prowess to convince the panel of judges comprising Gloria Rhodes, CobhamsAsuquo, and Shola Allyson. See photos below:-
