guys what do u think bout this? i was readin thru this morning and i saw it.

“Sometimes, even people who have held offices in government criticise me to the extent of personal abuses. Sometimes I ask, were there roads across in the country and Jonathan brought flood to wipe out these roads? or we had power and I brought hurricane to break down the entire infrastructure?

“If they say Boko Haram is because of poverty; were there massive irrigation projects in the North where agriculture can thrive and massive farms, and Jonathan brought drought to wipe out these farms? under two years is it possible? - President Jonathan.

Christianity EtcBoko Haram, Has Issued An Ultimatum To Christians In The North To Leave by chxe(op): 12:07pm On Jan 02, 2012
Boko Haram, has issued an ultimatum to Christians in the country’s north and threatened to confront troops after the president declared a state of emergency in hard hit areas.

Abul Qaqa, who has spoken on behalf of the group blamed for scores of attacks in numerous times in the past, said he was giving southerners living in the north a three-day ultimatum to leave.

“We find it pertinent to state that soldiers will only kill innocent Muslims in the local government areas where the state of emergency was declared,” he told journalists in a phone conference late Sunday.

“We would confront them squarely to protect our brothers.”

Speaking in the Hausa language common throughout the north, Qaqa said “we also wish to call on our fellow Muslims to come back to the north because we have evidence that they would be attacked.

“We are also giving a three-day ultimatum to the southerners living in the northern part of Nigeria to move away.”

Boko Haram is believed to include different factions with varying aims, its structure remains unclear and other people have claimed to speak on its behalf.

Nigeria’s 160 million population is roughly divided between a mainly Muslim north and predominately Christian south.

Muslims have been victims of Boko Haram attacks, but a wave of Christmas day bombings particularly targeting churches set off fears of retaliation from Christians.

President Goodluck Jonathan declared a state of emergency on Saturday in parts of four states hard hit by violence blamed on Boko Haram.

The declaration came in response to scores of attacks attributed to Boko Haram, particularly the bombings on Christmas that killed 49 people, most of them in a gruesome blast at a Catholic church as services were ending.

Qaqa also criticised Jonathan over his visit to a Catholic church outside Abuja on Saturday. The church was the site of the bloodiest Christmas day attack, with an explosion killing 44 people there as services were ending.

“The President had never visited any of the theatres were Muslims were massacred,” he said, naming areas where scores of Muslims were killed in post-election riots in April.

While Boko Haram has been carrying out increasingly deadly attacks for months, including an August suicide bombing of UN headquarters in Abuja that left 25 dead, the Christmas violence sparked intense fear and outrage.

It also led to warnings from Christian leaders that they would defend themselves if such attacks continued, raising deep concern.

While declaring the state of emergency in Africa’s largest oil producer, Jonathan acknowledged that the attacks “have threatened our collective security and shaken the foundations of our corporate existence as a nation.”

It was declared in parts of the states of Borno, where Boko Haram has traditionally had its base, Niger, Plateau and Yobe.

In the northeastern city of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state, residents reported increased patrols on Monday. Soldiers had been entering homes in search of weapons and bombs, they said.

After the searches, soldiers told residents to report any unusual behaviour or abandoned vehicles which may contain planted bombs

SportsKeshi Opens Door For Yakubu Return by chxe(op): 10:16pm On Nov 21, 2011
Super Eagles’ head coach, Stephen Keshi says he is ready to hand Yakubu Aiyegbeni a recall to the Nigerian men’s team.

Aiyegbeni, 28, scored twice in Blackburn Rovers’ 3-3 draw at Wigan Athletic and his performance has not gone unnoticed by the Nigerian manager.

It was Aiyegbeni’s fifth goal of the Barclays English Premier League campaign in seven appearances.

Keshi believes that the addition of Aiyegbeni to the Nigerian squad will give the younger players a chance to learn from the former Everton man.

“Yakubu has always shown that he’s a fantastic striker and any coach will be happy to have such a player of his quality in his side. I have followed his performances in recent times and he still has a lot to give to the national team.

“Besides, I must say that with the kind of experience Yakubu has got playing in Israel and at different divisions in England one cannot turn a blind eye to that except we want to be sentimental,” Keshi told SuperSport.com.

On the 2010 World Cup miss by Aiyegbeni against South Korea, Keshi made it clear that “players do have their bad days on the pitch.

“I must say every player do have their bad days on the pitch. That day was one of his own bad days. As a player I can recall countless times when I had my bad days but that doesn’t mean you’re a bad player or that you don’t want to win.

“As much as we are rebuilding we can’t throw away the fact that we want to invite players to the team based on performance. If Yakubu or any other player deserves to be called up to the team, definitely I will call them up,” the former Togo manager said.

Aiyegbeni’s brace against Wigan last Saturday took his total number of goals since arriving England in 2003 to over 100.

The Blackburn Rovers’ forward last appeared for Nigeria at the Fifa 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

RomanceDid This Guy Go Too Far? by chxe(op): 9:47am On Oct 28, 2011
got this from someone's profile ;
[12:52:37 PM] Rolake Obatomi: This is a true story about a recent wedding that took place in Lagos. This was a huge wedding with over 300 guests. After the wedding at the reception, the groom got up on stage and took the microphone to talk to the crowd. He said that he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their Weddi, ng. He especially wanted to thank the bride's and groom's families , for coming and to thank his new father-in-law for providing such a fabulous reception. To thank everyone for coming and bringing gifts and everything, he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift from just him. Taped to the bottom of everyone's chair (even the chairs of the wedding party) was a manila envelope. He said that was his gift to everyone, and told everyone to open their envelopes. Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 picture of his best man having sex with the bride. (He had gotten suspicious of the two of them and hired a private detective to trail them weeks prior to the wedding.) After he stood there and watched the people's reactions for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said ''F--- you!'' he then turned to the bride and said ''F--- you!'' and then he turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said, ''Thanks, I'm out of here.'' He had the marriage annulled first thing that Monday morning. While most of us would have broken off the engagement immediately after finding out about the affair, this guy goes through with it anyway as if nothing was wrong. His revenge: 1) Making the bride's parents pay over 320,000/= for a 300 guests wedding and reception. 2) Letting everyone know exactly what did happen. 3) And best of all, trashing the bride's and best man's reputations in front of all of their friends, their parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, nieces and nephews, etc. Did the guy g☺too far!

PoliticsNiger Delta Militants To Work With Army Against Boko Haram Attack by chxe(op): 1:39am On Sep 21, 2011
Following intelligence report that the Islamic sect,  Boko Haram, had concluded plans to bomb some states in the Niger Delta, South-East and South-West geo-political zones, militants in the Niger Delta, have volunteered to team up  with the security agencies, especially the armed forces to repel the rebellious group.

Spokesman of the militants under the aegis of Niger Delta Liberation Force, NDLF, “Captain” Mark Anthony, in a statement, Tuesday, said the Israeli forces contracted by the government cannot provide adequate security.

He volunteered special security services for President Goodluck Jonathan and members of his immediate family because of the precarious security situation in the country.

The group which warned Boko Haram members  to steer clear of Niger-Delta said: “If they ignore this warning, the counter reaction will be disastrous.

“We offer on behalf of the good people of Niger Delta and Nigerians  to partner with the security forces, especially the army to give voluntary security services to President Jonathan and his immediate family over the precarious security situation created by the Islamic sect whose suicide bombings in Abuja and other cities in the country had created total insecurity.”

“This call for partnership becomes expedient, especially with the porous security network and backstabbing at high security quarters, which gave the feeling that the life of the President and his immediate family members is at risk,” the statement added.

PoliticsMend Threatens Fresh Attacks by chxe(op): 5:39pm On Jul 14, 2011
Militants in the Niger Delta region on Thursday issued a new threat to resume hostilities as the Security Agencies battle a wave of bomb attacks blamed on radical Islamists in the northern region of the country.

"The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) is preparing very hard for the resumption of hostilities with the training of new fighters joining our various camps" the group said in a statement.

MEND accused government of applying double standards after the authorities announced that dozens of Islamists arrested recently in connection with the incessant bombings and shootings in the North may not be prosecuted.

The country's intelligence agency two weeks ago said it was holding over 100 suspected members of the Islamist sect known as Boko Haram with a view to reform rather than taking them to court.

"The group therefore, regards this gesture as a blatant disregard to all Christians in Nigeria killed and also an insult to all Niger Deltans with reference to the Delta indigenes arrested over the October 1 bomb blast carried out by our field operatives", it said.

The Group whose attacks in previous years slashed oil production by around half, staged a major attack in the capital Abuja during October 1 Independence Celebrations.

It set off two car bombs near the venue of the official ceremonies killing 12 people and wounding several others

PoliticsStay Away From Christians, Boko Haram Warns Muslims In Nigeria by chxe(op): 5:34pm On Jul 14, 2011
…Every none Muslims in Government is Infidel and marked for Death
The Boko Haram menace has taken a dramatic twist with its call on all Muslims in Nigeria to stay away from Christians, Security Agents, Government institutions and functions or face death.

It maintained that since the present Federal Government is not Islamic, every employee is considered an infidel marked for elimination.

This came on the heels of reports that the group just stormed the divisional police headquarters in Toro Local Government area of Bauchi state, carting away arms and ammunition. It was not clear if any police officer was murdered.

The deadly group urged Muslims to stay away from Christians, their houses, businesses and churches because they are targets of attacks.

This warning is contained in a statement issued by the spokesman, Abu Zaid and exclusively obtained by pointblanknews.com.

According to Zaid “The only dialogue in this crisis is as follows: Stop abiding by the constitution in our land (Dualan Usmaniyya), and government must be sincere and stop terrorizing Muslims in Maiduguri and parts of the North, then there should be a time limit for ceasing fire to gauge Government commitment in keeping to its promise, which cannot be more than ten years.”

The group boasted that it was yet to employ 5 percent of its military might and weaponry.

Said Zaid “What is holding us back is the innocent civilian population, but as soon as people stay clear from security agents we will launch a full-scale attack. Unarmed Muslims were picked up from their homes and from their hospital beds and summarily executed; the world saw it on AlJazeera. Yet the same Government wants to forgive us for the wrongs they meted on us. In actual sense, we are the ones that should give amnesty to the Borno State Government.”

According to Boko Haram “We as a group don’t kill people who are innocent. What we are trying to tell people is that, in regaining the pride of the people in Islam, people have to endure in losing their properties and sometimes lives are also involved and this can fall on everyone, including us.”

The statement continued “This is a government that is not Islamic. Therefore, all its employees-Muslims and non-Muslims are Infidels. This is a Government which naturally fights Islam because Muslims were killed were killed in Zagon Kataf, in Jos and Southern Kaduna but the perpetrators have never been prosecuted by the so-called existing laws of the land. Mosques were destroyed and punishment for this is death. Therefore, we have the right to kill them all. But if there are people who profess Islam and do not take part in Government or Western Education, their blood and wealth are sacred unless otherwise.”
The group also explained how they get finance and ammunition “Nobody is asking the Niger Delta Militants where they are getting the weapons, nobody is asking Christians in Jos and Southern Kaduna the source of their funds to buy weaponry, but they are questioning where we are getting ours! It is very easy to get weaponry in this part of the world. Each day we look for money through lawful means. We task ourselves and sell our properties like Houses and cars since we are now fugitive and use the proceeds to buy arms.”

The statement said the group would only accept the apologies of former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, if he dissociates himself from” anti-Islamic activities such as democracy, etc, and withdraw his support or contribution to either his cronies and political associates nationwide, then he should come and join us to fight the system he helped build even as an adviser. We believe Allah will forgive him because it is not us that he has wronged but Allah because he is committing shirk (unbelief).”

According to Boko Haram “We are not in doubt that we are going to win this war. So far we have an upper hand. Even if it means bringing external forces, we will fight to win. History has shown that when you are fighting in the cause of Allah there will be a divine intervention, which we have so far seen with the ongoing war with security agents”

The group that has murdered dozens of policemen in recent weeks concluded ” Our cause is purely religious. Muslims should try as much as they can to be neutral. And we are aware that traditional rulers, religious leaders and house owners etc are meeting in different parts of the north on how to undermine our activities and track us down. We urge them to stop; if not we will turn their areas and states like Maiduguri.”
