But we women sha, we continue to de born. We should stop blaming the men, a woman should know that after four children she should go to the health center for family planning procedures. |

Jessica555: This is my story. I was a graduate assistant in federal university ndufu alike ikwo in Ebony state. I was employed in 2O13 and in 2O14 I enrolled for my Master degree in FUTO. I finished course work in 2O15 and started my project finished it in July 2O16 waited for a year before my HOD scheduled us for the of bench and internal defence waited for another 8 month before i was scheduled for the final defence which I did in February this year. In march 27 this year the V.C terminated our appointment on the basis that we have exceeded three years and yet to present our statement of result. We pleaded but he refused. In April 26 I was issued my statement of result. I went back to present it but he refused reinstating me. Now since march I've been out of job. I borrowed money to pay the additional three years school fees FUTO made me owe. I learnt how to sew but have no machine I only use needle and thread to make good cloths I have videos and pictures of my works uploaded on my IG. No one will give me their clothes to sew with needle and thread. My mother has been sick since July. On tuesday the doctor asked us to take her away because we couldn't pay for the treatment. I decided to go hawk pure water yesterday but couldn't even raise up to 3OOO naira. The shocking thing is I went to the school on Monday to realise that our salaries are still entry but the V.C is the one collecting the money. Meaning DAT the federal government doesn't even know that about 21of us had been sacked and so the government still pays but we aren't receiving it. Please I want you all to help me so that this gets to the appropriate authority ( the president, vice President and so on). Its not fair on us. Please help. I can give you my cloth to sew if you are in Lagos and female clothes. |

Angelanest: A 28-year-old man has been arrested by police operatives in Ogun state over the death of a 40-year-old married woman after they allegedly had sex.
According to Ogun Police spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect was taken into custody on Wednesday following a complaint by an hospital.
“Men of Ogun State Police Command have on Wednesday the 15th of August arrested one Kelvin Micheal ‘m’ 28yrs old over the death of a 40yrs old woman Monsurat Idowu ‘f’ after a marathon sex’,” Mr Oyeyemi said.
He said the suspect who took the deceased to State Hospital, Ota, could not explain the circumstance of her death.
“The arrest of the suspect was as a result of complaint by one Benjamin Okereke of the State hospital Ota who reported that the suspect brought the deceased to the hospital dead, and since he cannot explain the circumstance that surrounded the death of the deceased, he decided to notify the Police,” he said.
Mr Oyeyemi said upon the report, the Divisional Police Officer of Onipanu Division, Sangobiyi Johnson, led his officers to the hospital where the man was promptly arrested.
“On interrogation, the suspect claimed to have met the deceased last month in a bus at Ketu, Lagos where they exchanged phone numbers, consequent upon which he invited her to the house of his friend in Ota where the deceased suddenly slumped and died shortly after they finished having sexual intercourse.”
He said the husband of the deceased, Idowu Lamidi, a commercial driver who was quickly contacted, told the police that he left his wife in the house hale and hearty while going out for work, wondering what led to her untimely death.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the transfer of the case to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for investigation; while the corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for post mortem examination.

seunmsg: I reason with them. It's so hard for many states at the moment to pay 18k minimum wage and labour is now advocating for 56k. How will they cope?
In my opinion, the principle of federalism that we all like talking about should be applied. Each states should be allowed to determine whatever it has the capacity to pay based on negotiations with state chapters of organized labour. If we are to wait till all states concur to the proposed new minimum wage, we may have to wait till eternity. NLC and TUC should conclude negotiations with federal government and let implementation start at the federal level. Yes, it is very hard for them to pay 18k but it is not hard for them to embezzle to stash abroad, build houses, send their children abroad to school after they have destroyed the public schools they all attended to get them to the high position they are in today while you are their thinking of how to get one meal a day, unless you are saying you are part of the stealing. A salary earner will not object to increase in salary which i think you are not. May all these wicked governors meet their doom soon. |

Newsmania: Governors under the auspices of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) say they were not voted into power to pay salaries alone but also to provide good roads, electricity, education and other necessary amenities.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum, Abdulaziz Yari, has spoken out on the ongoing negotiation for a new national minimum wage after a meeting of the governors of the 36 states of the federation on Wednesday night in Abuja.
According to Tribune, the Governor of Zamfara state, told reporters that the governors want the national income to be examined over the last 14 years so that its exact position can be determined. The NGF chairman regretted that states government have been limited to only the payment of salaries and unable to take care of development responsibilities in other sectors such as health, electricity, education, among others.
He said that the governments have no magic to meet the expectations of the people if they do not have the required funds. On minimum wage, Yari said: “We have a committee of six which represented us in discussions in the committee headed by Labour minister. The committee is yet to give us the final report.
"When they give us the final report, for which they have our mandate to present our position, and the position most likely is to look at the record of up to 14 years. “For instance, in global practice, in your income, how much are you spending as salary? So that we can start from there. They have given us an interim report, that at the of the federal government level, over 82 per cent is being spent on overhead which cannot move the country forward in terms of infrastructure development and development that we need now.
“So, on our own part, we are saying we are going to look at how our income is trained from our final account from 14 years ago so that we can come up and stay in the middle. “I don’t think you people voted us for only to pay salaries. You are looking for good roads, electricity, education and others. So, we can’t do magic. It’s only when we have the funds do all those things.”
Speaking against the backdrop of the freezing of Akwa Ibom and Benue states government accounts by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Yari said that even President Muhammadu Buhari will not support the illegalities perpetrated by the agencies. He said: “We believe strongly that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari will not sit down and supervise this illegality in the system.
“What we are saying is that we all support the government to fight corruption because it is endemic and has suffered the nation for over six decades. Definitely, it was part of what we discussed. “What we are saying now is that we are going to support the government in terms of what it is doing to fight corruption, but the due process must be respected in whatever action the agencies are going to take in the name of fighting corruption.”
