Symphony007: Does'nt mr president have advisers. Were did he get this crazy idea of wearing military uniform in a democracy? A civilian in civilain clothes being saluted and giving orders to the unifromed military is central in our constitution. He is not even an ex-service man like obj. Did yar adua ever wear military atire? Even north korea with all it's propagandar, the kims never wear miltary atire.

@mieye007, @Ijaw Citizen
Do you realise that in the 13 years from 1952-1965 of Eastern Nigeria, Bayelsa and Rivers states produced more quality graduates than in the 45 years of Hausa/fulani/Yoruba domination. Mention any one from 1968-2013 that is like IGP Louis Edet, Gen Effiong, Saro Wiwa, GTG Toby, Obi Wali, Graham Douglas, Elechi Amadi, Justice Alagoa. Now compare recent outstanding Igbos not Achebe, Ojukwu generation, but circa 1971. Dora Akunyili, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Prof Barth Nnaji, Ngozi Chimamanda Adichie, Soludo, JJ Okocha, Nwankwo Kanu, Sunday Olise, Chioma Ajunwa, Mikel.
Bad choices have produced worse outcomes.

rapheaders: hey numbskull, so ibori and alams that stole your resources are yorubas. ain't you guys dumbos, isn't it the likes of falana, gani, tunde and soyinka that stood for all your heros in their trying times where were all you running mouth ninnies. atleast your son is at the helms of affairs now tell him to balkanize the nation so your low life will spare us your deafening whining spree.
Mr Vulgar, the context was about stealing Nigeria,s resources. Alams and Ibori did some development, on the ground, though marginal. You don't know the kind of looting going on in the oil industry, and by who?
You can deny this but thankgod you accept the fact that ojuku ran away for biafran struggle.

We can still do that even in the same Nigeria.Maybe ibos should start by learning to live in their gully-ridden region ! I'm always eager to see an undiluted yoruba nation from of scavengers . tongue
The scavengers have taken oil wealth from Ogoniland to develop Lagos and Ogun, with so many billionaires, and now at least one trillionaire. They killed Saro for demanding some little benefits; and Asari, Ateke, et al, have to fight and lose thousands of men. Southwest has over 50 private universities, and not a single one in the oil bearing zone. Izon Citizen Anua! Then it is Igbos who must now risk everything to defend President Jonathan, otherwise the Northwest/Southwest locusts and looters would have removed him in less than one year.
How many old eastern minorities now and then support biafra ?
Republic of Igboland.
Islamic or Ifa Republic of Oduduwaland(their beautiful flag is in Nairaland).
The Glorious Islamic Sharia Republic of Hausaland.
The Famous Egbesu Republic of Izon.
The Ogoni Kingdom is bigger and richer than some European nations.
Akpabio has so built up Ibibio nation, that they can form a viable republic with Cross River.
These things are easy. Luggard's 100 years has expired.
Price of Crude oil will soon fall to a level where Nigeria will not be able to buy military weapons, or pay soldiers to force everyone to remain Nigerians. CIA predicted accurately that Nigeria has finished serving the purpose of the Queen Victoria, for whom it was created, that these Africans will eventually return to their original tribal domains. Its just common sense.
Are you afraid to develop your own God-given region?

ijaw citizen: At the vertical stretch of the Imo river, you have;
Ogoni@ the upper western bank
Ibibio@ the upper eastern bank
Opobo, Nkoro & Andoni Ijaws @ the lower western bank
Andoni Ijaws @ the lower eastern bank.
You see, no one has absolute control of the VERTICAL HOME STRETCH OF THE GREAT IMO RIVER, as she empties gently into the majestic Atlantic. Nigerian Navy has all the details. Get it from them.
A peaceful breakup of Nigeria will not happen unless the oil revenue is less profitable to risk life for and the various stakeholders voluntarily pull away from the center to form new political units.....either in the form of regional governments or a spin off of new sovereigns. As long the revenue is still worth dying for, it will take violence to split the nation into its units.
1.Obama says America doesn't need African oil.
2. CIA says Nigeria will end in 2020.
3. All the parts of this puzzle are falling in place.
PoliticsRe: SE Will Have Access To The Sea If... by ckkris: 10:43pm On Jul 07, 2013
Abagworo: Even if we divide Nigeria, it won't still work. Like myself for example will prefer an Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta country while some Southeasterners will want us as part of Biafra. There will be war everywhere except the Southwest and North. Ijaws vs Itsekiri will be full blown while Ikwerre will be finding their foot in a fight with Okrika who will also be fighting Eleme. Infact Southeast and South-south will be in a long lasting tribal war and war for land and natural resources. The peace we enjoy is because of Nigeria. Middlebelt will be at war too.
If a plebiscite supports Republic of Orashiland, it should be. Its not anyone's business what happens in foreign nations. All the nonsense will just stop. The Igbo nation can win Nation's Cup in 5 years, and produce bicycle within that five years. Once Aba gets Nnaji's constant power supply there's nothing stopping them. Oduduwa children have everything to be world power, but in Nigeria everyone must develop at the same pace. And it can never work.
The do you have a problem with bilateral economic co-operation with your neighbours?

Your response is quite strange.
Why are some people afraid of dividing this Nigeria that isn't working. And they don't want Nigeria to work either.

ijaw citizen: The government of Ijawland will never sign any such "bilateral economic co-operation" with Igbo people.
Is there any Ijaw-speaking village along Imo River? This man has never seen the Imo River.
PoliticsRe: SE Will Have Access To The Sea If... by ckkris: 9:54pm On Jul 07, 2013
ijaw citizen: There is nothing Igbo people can give us to allow them such access......I'm sorry bro, its never gonna happen. (emphasis on NEVER)
Igbos already have a small riverside harbour that smugglers use. Please who are the WE you talking about? All people along the Imo River understand Igbo, the language of commerce for centuries, and they co-operate very well. You don't seem to know the terrain al all.

I'm glad you are liking this thread. I will definitely be posting more. Right now I'm just finishing up the Haitian revolution first.
Please include how the United States turned around to join France and England to impose a 25-year debilitating economic sanction on Haiti, as compensation for losing the territory, which also crippled Haitian economy, as they all refused to trade with Haiti, refused to supply industrial equipment, and wouldn't buy Haitian products.
