Hi all, by God's grace I just graduated this year from Madonna University (university with a difference) and am about embarking on a service to serve my fatherland. I have this passion for yoruba language and if am not blowing wings, I can speak like 30% of the language. so I need help from my Yoruba brothers cum sisters here in NL to help me choose a state in SW which is conducive, accommodating and in all where I can learn the yoruba language at ease. Thank y'all in anticipation as I await for your suggestions.

To be sincere, I've learnt alot from this good site 'Nairaland' a place where one can come and have fun, laugh, pass time, and have discussions varing from one thing to another, especially in the three most visited section which are viz; cultural, politcs, and writings. In other words I must say this place has caused more harm than good to an average Nigerian who uses the internet very often. Because here is a place where Nigerians hate opon other Nigerians, a place where Racism and Tribalism is highly encouraged without a second thought. I love the ethnic composition of Nigeria, especially the Yorubas, Ijaws, Efik and most Northerners but after joining this social media the likeness I have for them reduced drastically due to the daily tribal bashing/E-war happening here. If I must ask, why do we promote Tribalism here in this modern days of 21st centuary? In a developed world if you are a known racist there is a very big problem for you to be sincere, so people avoid such thing there, but here we seem not to care, we just spit it out and thus; also spoil the good minded ones, because out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh, why do we think of such deeds, even as am typing this am afraid of maybe the insults am gonna recieve latter but no matter what, lets leave sentiment apart, I believe that anybody using the internet very well have come of age and knows what is good and moreso contribute good things to there society via that same social media. Please lets put an end to this madness called tribalism/racism, it would do us no good. Lets make here a place where we'd learn more about Nigeria and the world at large, and also learn how to speak with one voice for our Nation. Though we are not ONE, but Lets love one another no matter our short-comings, ThAnK yOu.

why can't he hand over to the SE? Presidency is based on merit and not sectional politics, the worst thing the Hausa/fulani will do is to cause post election violence and encourage boko haram more which may eventually lead to a break-up of the federation, of which we know those who will suffer it the most.

There is no general agreement of rotational presidency in Nigeria either among geo-political zones or between the North and South. well to cut everything short after Jonathan Igboman must occupy that sit. Power must remain in theSouth to equalize the present in-justice.

For now in Nigeria its not possible, because ethnic politics/tribalism have been settled in our minds, though the 1999 constitution did not enshrine that one must be an indigene of a particular state before running for governor. Take U.S for example; there is nothing like state of origin, one can be born in the state of Hawaii nd still be governor of state of california or maybe state of illinois, but to be sincere its only the Igbos that believes in one Nigeria, Igboman lives as far as sokoto even in Borno doing his/her thing and living their life and contibuting to bettement of the place, they say where there is no Igboman there is no life there, run away.

Nobody is claiming Rivers state as a whole but rather the Igbo lands in it streching to 9 lgas, Ikwerre denying to be Igbos is not there fault, they did it for survival sakes, so as to have a say in the existing govt. dont forget that Rivers nd Bayelsa states where one as of then and Ijaws were the majority then and the de-Igbonization of P.H was done in Ijaw rule and a time when the Igbos were seriously maginalized in Nigeria due to the civil war records.

rumu, umu, idumu, omu= children of or quaters of.. In Igboland. Ikwerres use rumu (P.H), umu and omu while other parts of Rivers Igbos uses 'umu'. while some part of Imo state uses omu and umu, and delta north (ika part) uses idumu and umu as well. But 'umu' is peculiar to every part of Igboland, no matter what, Igbo is Igbo.

To me the issues I would want them them to really discuss are; True federalism (resource control), uni-cameral legislature, recognition of geo-political zones with equal states or regional govt, rotational presidency, removal of immunity, autonomy of LGA nd house of assembly, regional/geo-political police, national census, reduction of federal characters, devolution of power, 1 yr term of 7yrs, economy, etc..many more coming soon.

I support GEJ, but left for me I'll advice him not to contest, because its against the constitution, which states; that no person shall take the oath of presidency more than twice and no one should exceed the number of 8 years in office. So as for GEJ he should just be a national hero and spend his 6 years peaceful with a lot of legacy, after all its just two year difference. More over he was a V.P and acting President, so he should add-up those V.P and acting president year with his 6 years in office, it would even pass. What else does he want to achieve by being sworn in the third time which is against the constitution and the promises he made, therefore he should use this remaining yrs and leave a big legacy and turn a national hero. But if he should go ahead and contest I will vote for him rather than voting-in a core northerner, but that is if I don't see any chances of Igbo presidency in 2015.

I don't know the exact problem of the Northerns, they oppose everything that will move the country further, all they support is Amnesty for Boko Haram, islamization of the country, Northern Presidency and dependant on only Oil from the south but their plans will not work, thank God we are in Democracy. Then talking about 'WAR' let the Northerns especially the Hausa/Fulani pipes not think they will win a war against the south again, this is not 1960s when 75% of the Army is occupied by the Northerners and moreover the Idea of One indivisible North is a fraud and is dead, the Igalas, kwarans, tiv, Idomas, southern K.D, jukun people will not join hands with them to fight the south, the Yorubas are wising up too, therefore anything the core Northerners are calling for I bet them we are also more than ready, Nigeria must be better..!!

the problem in 'Nigeria' my beloved country is Political instability; Nepotism, Tribalism and Corruption. The Nigerian government have made the central Government too attractive, that every persons wants to be there or see his Brother there (Tribalism). And moreover no Nigeria politician is committed to developing the nation that is why everybody must be settled(Corruption). So everybody must get there thru I.M not on merit grounds (Nepotism), by the failure or interruption of executing the Above mentioned this equals to CRISIS. Therefore the solution remains to BREAK-UP or form a Confederation or true Federalism and make the center LESS attractive, have a working government, TOTAl reform inshort..

While the ones within Nigerian territory are being killed by boko boys, may God help us all..
