that's the most rhetorical question I've heard all day.

I was sitting out with a pastor friend at maitama and he asked me this question;is Jesus a christian? I simply told him that I believe God is the God of Heaven and earth. Jesus was sent to save mankind, so whether you are a christian, muslim, buddist, hindu, etc...righteousness and salvation is a personal thing as God searches the heart. I concluded by telling him that Jesus is not a christian, but God of everyone who believe in Him and does what is right in the sight of God...Please am I right?

Who can deny the heart of this sweet, great feeling, of eternal bliss encapsulating my fragile heart of sanctimonious benevolence ravaging my entire being with gargantuan Amor?

This is what i am feeling right now. Ever since i have been managing this cyber cafe, i have not felt this way for any one before.

He is the most handsome guy i have ever seen. He is gentle, talks with charisma, eyes like an angel, sonorous voice, he has everything.

When i first set eyes on on him i couldnt sleep well that night. He seldom come to browse, and i wished he could be come everyday.

But there is a problem. He has never ask me of my name. i resumed work late and saw him there. I pretended i was tired and had to rest near him. Twenty minutes later, he called me to scan a pix for him. After scanning i went to him to show him where the location of the pix was. His gentle hands brushed at my fair skin. It was so wonderful.

As a lady my pride is at stake if i ask him out myself. I am light in complexion, well curved [figure 8], and dress well.

Why is he not feeling me?
Why am i not drawn to him?

Please help me on how to get this guy. He is what i need.

Sanchez01: I beg to disagree. When we fast, we abstain from certain things that are considered priorities; things we tend to glorify more than our spirit man and God. There is no difference between fasting and abstinence save for the fact that one is religious and the other is not. Abstinence can be as a result of our decision or will while fasts leave us no choice but to stay away, with the help of an active consciousness being made alive in the spirit man. I really hope you get this though.

you wrong on that...fasting is different from abstinence. Some people contradict both, but while fasting entails abstaining from all or some kinds of food or drink, especially as a religious observance; abstinence has to do with keeping away from one or more things we love to do esp as a religious observance. As regards the topic, am not so sure of any biblical backing but I feel one should keep away from sex during fast. Am even wondering how your third leg can function during fasting...sounds weird though

Sanchez01: Yes, one can. However, the essence of fasting is what most people don't understand. Fasting can take different forms. To fast means to subject the body and deny it what it loves most. Hence, if your body craves se.x during fast then you should't. Our bodies have ways of idolizing things, even when we don't know it.

Why do people avoid food during fast? People do so to keep the body under check by denying it what it loves most. As much as se.x is of the body and one of the thousand desires of the flesh, it is only recommended that one stays away from it during this period.

As regards the authenticity of the RCC, there is no doubt that it reamins the agbanwe-agbanwe...unchanging church founded by Jesus Christ Himself. All other churches sprouted from the RCC...well some were called but most of them came about as a result of greed and internal rancor

The favourite scripture these dudes use to confirm the popeship of peter is that in which jesus said: 'niether flesh or blood has revealed this......you are simon peter which means rock....... Jesus was not refering to peter as the foundation of his church, but he was referring to the revelation that peter saw and uttered in reponse to jesus' question:who do you say I am. So since Jesus at certain times asked Christians to make images; even the ark had cherub's etc...the images we venerate aint idolatry. Wonder why and what the 2nd commandment meant by its wordings. Anyway, God searches the heart right!!!

felixzo1: i will answer you in details latter.but for now what consistute worship to you. in my own words it is given the space of God in your heart to an image,given praise and gory to it, your time attention and dedication to it. secondly if you are a catholic as you claim you wld hv known the answer to your question. maybe u are a sunday only catholic. ask your priest or belong to a group in your parish or school to grow your faith, the internet is not the place to ask this question.

Rich4god: @op... Go to the book of 1 kings... There were alot of images in the temple built by Solomon... Also, the ark of the convenant has images on top of it... And the bible didnt say that they disobeyed the commandent of God by making such image. Even, the cherub image above the ark was built under God's direction.

Hi folks, am a catholic from a staunch catholic background. I have been troubled over this issue for some time now and need some peer reviewed opinion on it. In Exodus 20:4 it states "You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments". Now in the catholic church we have various associations such as; Legion of Mary, Holy infant Jesus, Block Rosary... among many others. Most of these associations have images they use in veneration and worship.

My question is; is that tantamount to idolatry?

Don't get me twisted here because am not in any way doubting the origin or authenticity of my religion because in Matthew 16:17-18, Jesus replied "Blessed are you Simone son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh of blood, but by my father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it".
