FIFA has settled for Costa Rica and Panama as host of the U20 World Cup as Nigeria loses out. Not surprised |
I don't gerrit! How can a team lose at home by 3 goals to nothing in the NPFL? It's just not normal . When I saw the results at first, I thought the home team was walked over until I saw something like this:Adamawa Utd 0-3 Sunshine Stars. ⚽️ Israel Abia 45’, Timileyin Ogunniyi 75’, Sadiq Yusuf 89’. Plateau United and MFM also won (though at home) by 5-1 and 3-0 respectively too. May we continue to see more of such emphatic away wins and plenty of goals. Long live the NPFL. |
Moses Simon with an assist |

ChrisKels:Lol The guy.......Komekn |
Can you imagine this from Brendan Rodgers Rohr on Iheanacho “Kelechi used to be an important player for us in the Super Eagles. He is a very good left footed goal scorer with good fighting spirit. I hope he gets back his confidence. “I don’t know what caused his lack of fitness and I think it’s only his coach at Leicester City that can answer that question because I saw him last in Asaba before the AFCON and I noticed that he had fitness problem and lacked confidence,” With hard work and more playing time at Leicester, the German tactician stated that Iheanacho will rediscover his goal scoring form. “I think once he has his confidence back, fitness will come as a result of hard work. He used to be powerful and quick and I know he can recover all these qualities of old,” "The way to go about that is to keep working hard and ensure he convince his coach in Leicester that he’s ready to do more. His coach (Brendan Rogers) was wondering why I didn’t call him again after the Russia 2018 World Cup because he felt he was good enough but he (Rogers) also stopped using him because he was not okay. But he’s a good guy and with hard work he can do wonders.” ![]() It's no longer business as usual. Thank God for Rohr |
edi287:Rohr probably doesn't rate Eze because of his poor defensive abilities. Rohr also doesn't seem like one that like too many dribbles and showboating |
Humility017:I trust my ever reliable Rohr ![]() |
elyte89:No mind am He is attempting to slight Chukwueze again for have no end product with his brilliant display in the game so far ![]() |
komekn:Still scoreless |
Mujtahida:Lol. Confirmed. The above summarizes Komekn activity on this thread. Indeed, you can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time. |
Why am I not excited with this Dessers news?. I pity the guy sha. He is a very good striker, but then OSIMHEN...... |
TheSuperNerd:This is wonderful. This statement is bold and clear with no "shadow of turning". It is one with a conviction. It is also coming at a time when he is in a crazy form. |
edi287:I'm sure England can not go through the stress of change of allegiance for a player like Maja |
ChrisKels:Sorry for ur loss bro. I pray u will get back all you have lost. Amen. |
Sunday Dare "Our attempt at initiating a PPP gradually unfolds with private funds coming into renovation of sports facilities. The concession of the National Stadium Lagos and the Athletes hostel Abuja is in the final lapse. Fixing the rot of over a decade takes time and needs tact." |
Sunday Dare "Advertising the coaching jobs for our football teams signals the beginning of the restructuring of Nigeria’s football administration. Only merit should count. The Ministry will shortly convene a football stakeholders open forum.Time to have an open conversation about our football" |
Cyriel Dessers words "I have never been to Nigeria because of the political situation there. It was slightly better last year so I'll be twice as happy if I can get an invite, even if it's a friendly against Madagascar or Mauritius." "There's already been contact with the NFF. After the match against ADO Den Haag (last Saturday), an official from Nigeria sent me a message that I was doing well. "But it's not going to be easy for me there either - there are over 300m Nigerians worldwide." |
Eartquake1:These guys no just get shame at all ![]() |
Rohr talks tough as he makes case for outstanding wages With just seven months left on his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Gernot Rohr, the German coach of the Super Eagles, is making it clear that he is looking at his options. “The President of the Nigeria Football Federation has told me that we will sit down in January 2020 for a discussion and the conclusion of the extension of my contract, which runs out on the 30th of June,” Rohr (pictured) told this reporter, during an exclusive three-hour conversation in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital last Friday. “To be very honest, I have enjoyed the last three years with the national team of Nigeria, because I can see the progress that I have made with the players over this period.” “I think that I have the chance to do something with this group for the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon and the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The players are young, disciplined and willing to learn. I am very happy with them and my staff. We have formed a strong team, a strong unit,” he said. “But I am surprised that the federation are taking their time to conclude a contract. And to be honest, I am also surprised that when I was given a contract extension after qualifying for the 2018 World Cup, it was only extended until July 2020, which is right in the middle of qualifiers for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon. That is not normal and it is only the federation that can explain the reason for this.” “According to the provisions of my current contract with Nigeria, I am free, from January 1st 2020, to enter into a pre-contract agreement with any club or national team, to start work with them on the first of July 2020. That is my right,” Rohr said. “After the AFCON in Egypt, I was approached by some national teams but I made it clear that I was still under contract with Nigeria and was happy to continue with my work here.” “I will wait for my conversation with the President of the Nigeria Football Federation in January, when he says that we shall arrange a time to sit down and talk. We shall see what happens.” “While I have had a good time with my players and staff over the last three years, I have to say that relations with the administration have not been very easy, especially when it comes to the payment of my wages and that of the bonuses and allowances of my players and staff. There needs to be a lot more respect in this regard,” he said. According to the former Girondins Bordeaux defender and manager, who coached the national teams of Niger, Gabon and Burkina Faso, before joining Nigeria in 2016, Rohr claims that he is owed close to $100,000 in bonuses and allowances by the NFF. Jean-Jacques Bertrand, who served as the lawyer of Manchester United legend Eric Cantona, has been negotiating with the NFF on Rohr’s behalf to get the arrears paid. “I preferred to get Jean-Jacques involved because it got to a stage that I didn’t want to be speaking to the federation about money all the time. It got tiring… I wanted to take my mind away from money and simply focus on my job and let him deal with the issues off the field,” Rohr said. Nigeria, under Rohr, won a bronze medal at the last Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and have made a strong start in the 2021 AFCON qualifying campaign, winning their first two matches against Benin Republic and Lesotho. “We have made a very strong start to the campaign and we hope to continue with that when the qualification series continues in August. Hopefully, I will still be here by this time,” Rohr laughs. Source : Sporting life |
