Meanwhile Tunisia has confirmed its first case of the new coronavirus, the health minister said on Monday at a news conference. The minister Abdelatif el-Maki said the patient was a Tunisian man. As of Monday, there have been over 89,000 cases of the virus globally, the majority in China, according to a Reuters tally. Outside of China, it has spread to 66 countries, with more than 8,800 cases and 130 deaths. Globally, the illness has killed over 3,000 people. The risk of a global spread and impact of the coronavirus is now "very high", the highest level of alarm, but containment is still possible, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday. The total confirmed cases in Africa so far is in two countries in Sub-saharan Africa; Nigeria and Senegal, and three cases in North Africa; Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-health-coronavirus-tunisia/tunisia-confirms-first-coronavirus-case-health-minister-idUSKBN20P2AD 1 Like 2 Shares

Health / Senegal Confirms First Coronavirus Case, Patient Is A French Man by Cletus77(m): 7:13pm On Mar 02, 2020 |
(Reuters) - Senegal's health minister on Monday announced the first case of coronavirus in the country, the second case in sub-Saharan Africa after one was confirmed in Nigeria last week. The patient is a French man who lives in Senegal and flew back from France on Feb. 26, Health Minister Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr told reporters. The patient had since been in contact with his wife and two children and is now under quarantine in a hospital in the capital Dakar. He passed a temperature check at the capital Dakar's main airport on his return but developed a fever two days later and went to a private clinic for a check-up, the minister said. That clinic alerted the authorities who have quarantined him in Dakar's Fann Hospital. The patient had been in contact with his wife and two children, the minister said. It was not clear how many other people had also been in contact with him. Authorities are in the process of tracing the other passengers on the Air Senegal flight. Fann Hospital was not reachable for comment. The rapid spread of the new coronavirus has increased fears of a pandemic, prompting governments to step up control measures and sending global markets into a dive. https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKBN20P2JX 2 Shares

Health / Coronavirus: Italy Worst Hit In Europe As New Cases Emerge by Cletus77(m): 9:08pm On Mar 01, 2020 |
New coronavirus infections spiked dramatically across Europe on Sunday, with Italy reporting hundreds of new cases and five more deaths. The number of confirmed cases also jumped in France, Germany and the UK, and the Czech Republic reported its first case. As the disease continued its rapid spread and governments introduced emergency measures to halt the progress of the escalating epidemic, outbreaks worsened in Iran and South Korea. The US also reported two new infections, one in Chicago and another in Rhode Island, marking the eastern state’s first case. Italy said confirmed infections had risen 40% in 24 hours to 1,576, with the death toll now at 34. In Germany the number of people infected had almost doubled to 129 on Sunday, while France’s total stood at 100 – up from 38 on Friday. Italy was the first European country to report a major surge in cases of the coronavirus, with numbers quickly climbing into the hundreds and has strategically affected the Italian economy according to BBC news The authorities have responded with travel restrictions in the north of the country that are bound to hit the economy. So far, a number of towns in Lombardy in northern Italy have been locked down, with very limited numbers of people being allowed in or out. That matters, because northern Italy is the country's industrial powerhouse. Lombardy alone accounts for 40% of Italian industrial output. Milan is Italy's key centre for finance and a range of other services. Milan is not one of the areas covered by the shutdown. But even so, major tourist and cultural sites such as the cathedral (the Duomo) and the opera house La Scala have been closed. Iran meanwhile raised its death toll from 43 to 54 as its number of confirmed infections rose by more than half to 978, amid continuing concerns that official figures still do not reflect the full scale of the outbreak there. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/mar/01/coronavirus-deaths-iran-rise-global-outbreak-worsens 1 Share

Wether they criminalize or legalize gayism, it's their problem. A third world country legalizing polygamy, hope they have the resources to cater for the incoming population explosion Nigeria should be a case study for them, before they'll begin scrambling to Europe and America for financial aid. The standard of living for the ones you have is very low, yet you want to add more. Before you remind me of how your ancestors had hundred wives and children, remember they were not Christians, and are you ready to go into the farm like them? |

Y'all LGBT community should cut the man some slack! He is a Christian, what do you expect him to say about homosexuality apart from what the Bible says? You guys should know that it's not possible to make everyone like you, same way it's not possible to make everyone hate you. 4 Likes |
Foreign Affairs / Re: Trump Becomes First US President To Attend Anti-abortion Rally by Cletus77(m): 12:09am On Jan 31, 2020 |
Abortion is a very sensitive issue. a. The child doesn't deserve death b. It is religiously unacceptable Another angle. a. The parents knows she can't keep him for one financial reason or the other b. To prevent children from suffering due to poor or out of wedlock circumstances, as seen around the world. Some people will vehemently oppose abortion because they haven't been in that position, one of my religious colleague for example, guess what? He didn't even think twice when he got a lady pregnant! The issue is torn between religious consciousness and liberalism As For me... THE CHILD DESERVES A CHANCE! I rest my case 1 Like |
