Metuh was only able to name Obj's achievement. No single achievement by Jonathan was named and they expected us to elect an obvious failure |

Op, gud question. The fact is that federal appointments do nt have any impact but people complain because we are all blinded by ethnic and tribal sentiments. Although I support PMB, i hopes he understands this |
Father thank you for this change we are experiencing |
So this man who says we should call him a bast*rd is still talking? Well he is one of the persons that killed the killer party |
GENTLENNAJI:its obvious that u and Mr Kanu are ignorant. Cos if u aren't,u would know that d histories of the Binis and the yorubas are intertwined. Do u know that the name Bini was given to the Binis by yorubas? Does that make them yorubas? |
I get ur point op and completely understand ur position. I am a staunch supporter of Buhari and believes in his plans but I have to say, I have been disappointed with the spread of appointments so far. Though it seems the choice of people he has appointed so far appear diserving(cos some had been nxt in line based on seniority), it is obvious the president is naive when it comes to understanding the ethnic landscape of Nigeria. Not that these appointments will affect the lives of people who are of the same ethnic group as the appointees, it provides a sense of belonging to all. I hope he reverses this trend by appointing competent people from other parts of the country else, the present appointees will have to perform magic in order to be accepted in every part of the country. |
Astutechris:Thanks bro |
Hey guys, please suggest cheap and reliable webhosting companies you have used in your projects. They may be either local or foreign as long as they are reputable. |
Autolord:it is quite unfortunate that u people will find a way to blame this on buhari when he was clearly appointed by jonathan. Brainless dolt |
PDP was formed by greedy people whose only ambition was to loot Nigeria dry. This is evident in 16 wasted years. And now that the honey pot is gone in just less than 3mths, they are crumbling like a pack of badly arranged cards. |
Nice thought provoking piece. But I have to say that it is lace with lies and half-truths How can u generalise and say that the igbos are the main targets and victims of bombings in the north or that it is only igbo businesses that are suffering as a result of d carnage in the north. I know the author is trying to engender unity within the igbos, but that does not mean that he has to wickedly twists facts and try to whip up ethnic hatred between igbos and other tribe. I'm not sure what Obasanjo did in Onitsha but can vividly remember what happened in Udi. Is Udi Igboland? Why is the writer crying more than the bereaved? Besides I can't remember any prominent Igbo group speaking for Udi during that period. Is it because Obasanjo was a pdp man then? And now a party you rejected is now in power, u guys can't play opposition politics? I was born and brought up in the ss and 70 percent of my friends are igbos but i have never heard anyone saying they are being persecuted for being igbos. Neither have I heard them saying their relations in part of the country is targeted. They all live like the average Nigerian suffering the effects of bad leadersip at every level. Though I have to say, the Igbos are special. They have amazing entreprenuer abilities and are always ready to work. But I have to say their problems are not peculiar neither is it caused by the Nigerian state. The problem the Igbos have is visible in all of Sub Saharan Africa. It is the problem of bad leadership. Peter Obi and t.a Orji received the same allocations during their tenures, but compare Abia and Anambra. Aba has the potential to become not just the manufacturing hub,but also the no1 marketplace in W Africa. They have the potential to generate enough revenue to fund projects. But what happened? This is already too long. But if majority of Igbos feel that biafra is the only way out,let their leaders start looking for diplomatic means to exit. Not war I believe in Nigeria |
What is d usefulness of d national assembly? Cos i hav nt felt dia impact since 1999. They r just a drain pipe for our resources. Almost a 100 days into d new administration, yet dese hav not debated not to talk of pass any reasonable bill. Instead they are taking recess and looking for ways to illegally acquire d title of a SAN. Smh |
The east should produce d nxt president but dey have to play dia cards right and build bridgdes with people from other zones |
oweniwe:i swear, e be lyk say dem exclude benin from all dese lyt sharing, abi bedc dey play with us? |

Hamman Tukur, an engineer and former Chairman of the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, in this interview with PREMIUM TIMES, speaks about his tenure, the huge allowances taken by members of the National Assembly, his constant brushes with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the administration of FAAC and other sundry issues. PT: The National Assembly continues to receive allowances different from what the Commission approved for them. Why was the Commission not able to stop that during your time? Tukur: It was not a question of not being able to stop it, but because of the pressure from Labour. We told them (Labour) in a circular some time ago that every single naira any member of the National Assembly receives outside what the Commission approved was illegal, null and void. PT: Who approved that money? Tukur: I would not tell you the Commission did not know, because it was our job to know. But, we knew as much as we knew, and what we knew was what we approved. One time, they invited us to the National Assembly, and we said let us start by asking: who approves your budget? They started walking out from the meeting. And that is how the meeting ended. How can you as a National Assembly, the legislative arm of government not be answerable to anybody? All information about budget is always on the executive, which defends its budget before the National Assembly. But, we are in a democracy. People must know. Is there a govt in Kogi? |
Teachers under the aegis of Basic Education Staff (BES) in Kogi State have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene in their present predicament over unpaid salaries and allowance by the State government. The teachers made the appeal while protesting what they described as maltreatment of the highest order which has culminated in both physical, mental and emotional trauma, occasioned by their aggravating condition of service in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State. The protesting teachers gathered at the Holy Trinity Primary School in their numbers, carrying placards with different inscriptions in their hand to press home there demand. It is also recorded that this is not the first time that the protesting teachers are protesting unpaid salaries, as they were prevented from meeting with the Governor. Addressing reporters, the Chairman of the BES in Kogi State, Comrade Ohino Baiye, pointed out some alleged atrocities the board had committed to divert their allowances and also underpay them. Comrade Baiye said they were more resolute in the struggle for emancipation and to oppose and resist the payment of salaries by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) due to the trauma they have experienced in the hands of the present board. He stated that payment should be handed over to Local Government Education Authorities for accountability. Comrade Baiye also said that their association became necessary because the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) was no longer fighting their cause, but was rather using them to trade. On his part, the SUBEB Chairman said the board had paid salaries to Basic Education teachers in the state, with the fund available to them. http://www.channelstv.com/2015/08/16/kogi-teachers-protest-unpaid-salaries/?utm_source=&utm_medium=twitter |
