The 8.1% is per annum and not per month. If you deduct 10%, you are left with 7.29% per annum.
OgogoroFreak:
if na like that, we for turn billionaires over night oh.

That 8.1% on your 1m na like 6k in the 30days o

[quote author=freeman67 post=76980580]It's not like that ooo.. Sorry I thought you already know that interstate is per annum (yearly not monthly) so you will have to divide the interest of that Fixed Deposit by 365 (days) or 12(month) before you get actual interest.
Chaiiii?!!
I don dieee.
I think say na month thing o!
9% in 365 day?

You will be Taxed 10% of that 9% if you go for the FD. At the end what you will get is 8.1% but since your interest is in that 30days tenure, you can just go for it . The difference isn't much.
Last year, the money was just lying redundant in my savings account, this year I'ma make the money do some work.

I will start with FD and see how it goes.

Thanks again bro.

First 30 days 8.1%, second 30 days 8.1%, that's 16.2% in 60 days.
if I keep rolling over, I will get more than 100% in 365 days.
Baba, na FD I go do.

since you're constrained by your 30day investment window, the FD is probably your best option. if you have another bank apart from Diamond bank, you can try to get another opinion on what rate you can get for the FD noting that in all cases, there's a 10% WHT that will be applied to your interest as previously mentioned to you by another post

Speaking of Diamond bank, hope you know that the bank is now officially Access bank and your account will be converted to an access bank account. I suggest you walk into Access bank and ask them what they have on offer for T-bills and FD just to know what other possibilities are available to you

bon chance
Thanks for the details bro,
sometimes last February, i visited all the banks available execpt Stanbic to my suprise, Diamond Bank got the best deal.
GT offered 5.5%, First Bank 7%, Ecobank 8%, Access 4,5% the rest are just poor.
However, 30 days is never a constant, the problem is getting much money.
Ive discovered I could get more money on FD in 61 days than TBills.

Thanks again bro.

With 1m, you can only buy tbills at the secondary market. You have to ask your financial services provider the maturity dates that are available. I know there's a set maturing on April 4th. Buyers don't determine the maturity date of tbills so if your window is 30days you might not find something that fits exactly

But if you're flexible, I'm sure they can find something for you
freeman67:
Getting the exact 30days tenure for TB will most time come with some stroke of luck... It is not impossible anyway. Just contact your bank or other financial institutions you use to see the if it is available.
Thanks brothers.
I just left Diamond Bank, the available tenor for TBills starts from 61 days @8.2%.
Meanwhile the bank officer advised me to go for FD for 30 days @ 9%.

I think the latter is better tho.

you just posted a load of crap and I'm sure you probably think you have posted something intelligent.

I have Ignored the other dumb posts before yours just to let this lie, anyone can use any means to facilitate their investment and I could care less but I draw the Line at ignorant people like you casting aspersions at my person.

That you lack the intelligence to figure out Simple things is your problem

I use I-Invest and l have no problem with it, I have no allegiance to the developers or sterling bank and I especially don't care who uses the app or does not use it.

The person who had the issues with the app and bank had the decency to separate issues and addressed only the discussion, I dont know how come you're mourning more than the bereaved
Hi, kindly help a brother.
I have a loose 1m, can I do 30 days tenor?
Somebody pls write back.
thanks.

obiZEAL:
The picture just shows tenor, amount and rates.

You can invest 100k and above for 30 days and get 13% per annum (higher than T.bills rate)....the longer the tenor the higher the rate.

The joy is that the rates increases with tenor and amount.
For example if you invest 100k for 30 days you get 13% p.a, if you make it 181 days you get 14% p.a.

If you invest 1M for 30 days you get 14% p.a and if you make it 181 days you get as much as 15% p.a.
You can even gat as much as 19% p.a on your investments! Its flexible, you can liquidate at any time and you can rollover capital+interest at the end of the tenor.

You can DM if you are interested... Or u need more clarification...
Hello bro,
Are you still in TBills?!
I want to invest.
