My father always tell me stories of how he used to travel to the U.S in the 80s and the Naira was stronger than the dollar. I used to think it was one of the fairy tales parents tell e.g like how they always came first in class but the one day they came 2nd, they almost committed suicide cuz their parents would've killed them. Anyway, he went on to say back then, Nigerians only traveled to the US to do business, school or vacation. My father said the white man used to beg Nigerians to come to America cuz our currency was so powerful and they needed the tourism money. Nigerians never really liked travelling abroad, for what? Our economy was booming, our currency was very strong, the middle class was thriving. There was still that belief that children will grow up to surpass their parents in wealth and achievements. It's sad to see that once beautiful country with so much potential going down the drain fast while the rest of the world is excelling. $1 is now over N300. My Ghanaian friends sometimes tease me that it's cheaper to burn a pile of naira notes than buy firewood. Is this what we have become? A laughing stock? A country that produces nothing? I don't know about you but I miss the Nigeria of the 60s-80s and I certainly miss a stronger Naira.

How can a presidential candidate or any president say he will temporarily ban Muslims from coming into the country until he know what's going on?

How can a presidential candidate generalize a nation's people as "rappists" and drug lords as in the case of Mexico? Will any reasonable person turn around and say he will build a wall between the U.S-Mexican border and make the president of Mexico pay for it? Does that make any sense to you?

How can any presidential candidate say things like he will deport Americans born on American soil back to the country of their parents?

How can any presidential candidate, call the current president(Obama) a Kenyan despite proof of his birth papers indicating he was born in Hawaii? Then he went on to say Obama got accepted into Harvard simply because he's black due to affirmative action.

This same clown has gotten into twitter wars with news anchors ex Fox News anchor Kelly Megyn. How about his media brawl with Rossie O'Donell where he called her a fat lesbian and launched a barrage of personal attacks?

How about his recent row with the Pope, the leader of the Catholic Church?

Trump is a clown and his voters are sheep. The man has no credible foreign policy and half the time he doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. In September during an interview, when asked about his stance in Syria, Trump was confusing the Quds (a terrorist group) with the Kurds (a ethnic group). How the hell do you plan on being a commander in chief when you don't even know what the hell is happening in countries where U.S troops are deployed?

On the Iraq war, Trump boldly called former prez George Bush a liar for lying about WMDs, something I commend him for. But then again, Democrats were against the war from the get go.

The woman wants a ready-made UK doctor that's earning lots of pound sterling. Imagine when one pound is over N450, abeg who no like better thing? But why isn't the married Ngozi woman heaping blame on her husband? There has to be more to this story, maybe the couple are married but separated? Maybe they are in the process of a divorce? Maybe they just stayed married for the benefit of their 2 kids? Maybe the Ngozi wife has no intent of relocating back to Nigeria just like most women in the diaspora choose not to relocate to Nigeria? Many of these women want to work and retire overseas then possibly end up in a nursing home in their old age; something most men totally abhor.
Whatever the case, this makes for good drama and I would certainly like to know how it ends.

If this man gets into office, the U.S will finally go to war with Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. 3rd world war may be sooner than we think. He will also stop all visa lottery, all fiance visa and student visa programs. The goats, home grown, the grass, the firewood, the pepper etc...all here. Why the hike in price? If we dont do away with greed and resist adding greed motivated inflation, then we are not helping ourselves.

The notion of Nigerians being scammers is a well disseminated popular belief in the west. I kid you not, you can be watching a regular tv show and they will just make a joke about some Nigerian prince promising to send someone millions of dollars. It's an image already deeply rooted in the hearts of Americans, it's kinda like saying people from Afghanistan are terrorists or every Jewish person is cheap.

You call it greed and I call it capitalism. At the end of the day, the market determines the price. Maybe the cost of the plastic bottles used in storing the oil has increased? Maybe the cost of importing the processors used in separating the oil from the shaft has increased? When the economy tanks, it affects most sectors one way or another.
