Nigeria has more world cup history than Ghana
We've beat great teams like Spain in it plus we won Gold in the 96 Olympics

Ghana has only been in it twice.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Obafemi Martins Leaves Wolfsburg For Russian Champions by CLT123(op): 7:48pm On Jul 09, 2010
Reports indicate that a deal between German Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg and Rubin has been struck and that Martins has agreed personal terms. The Nigerian international forward has reportedly signed a three-year contract with the Tatars.

The 25-year-old has been quoted as saying, "It's a new beginning, a new start in a new country promises so much of a challenge for me.
"I have to thank the fans of Wolfsburg, my former colleagues there and wish the club all the best for the future.

"I am joining a team of champions and I hope to bring my best to the club to make them even greater."

Martins was signed by Wolfsburg from Newcastle in 2009 but he had a poor 2009-10 campaign, scoring just six goals in 22 appearances.

The player's agent, Nicola Walter, though, thinks that Martins can rejuvenate his career in the Russian Premier League.

"We spoke to the coach and he emphasised that Martins has a massive role to play in his team, which is encouraging," said Walter. "It is a fresh start for Martins, after playing in Italy, England and Germany, he is happy to be part of the evolution and success of Rubin in Europe.

"Hopefully the European Champions League and the demanding Russian league will give the player something important to focus on after his World Cup disappointment."
SportsRe: World Cup 2010 - Should Africa Be Allowed 5 Teams In 2014? by CLT123(m): 12:06pm On Jul 02, 2010
After FIFA expanded it to 24 teams Korea made it to semi finals
Korea is the only Asian team to get passed the round of 16. Africa has had 3 Cameroon Senegal and Ghana

I thought USA beat Algeria an African team and South Africa couldn't even beat Mexico despite home advantage
Your argument is absurd. Mexico couldn't even beat Africa's worst team at the world cup. South Africa dominated that game.

If USA were in a group with Ivory Coast Nigeria or Ghana instead of Algeria The USA won't advance out of that group. Example: In 2006 Ghana were in USA's group. Guess who advanced out of that group. Italy and Ghana. USA finished last.

Beside Ghana and Senegal which African team has done anything noteworthy?
Cameroon made it to the quarterfinals in 1990.

Nigeria had a top 5 team in 1994. That Nigeria team murdered teams that world cup. People thought Nigeria will go far in the tournament. That can't be said about any team in Asian's history. Nigeria lost 2-1 to eventual runners up Italy. Nigeria was up 1-0 for 90 minutes that game.

1n 1998 Nigeria upset a tournament favorite Spain 3-2 and won their group

AFC = World cup semi finals

CAF = World cup quarter finals (As at today)
How many times has an AFC team made it to the quarterfinals after FIFA expanded the world cup to 24 teams?

Besides the US and Mexico what other good teams are in CONCACAF?

USA couldnt even beat a Ghana team filled with teenagers
SportsRe: World Cup 2010 - Should Africa Be Allowed 5 Teams In 2014? by CLT123(m): 1:55am On Jul 02, 2010
CAF <<<< UEFA

CAF <<< CONMEBOL

CAF > AFC

CAF >> CONCACAF

CAF >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> OFC

This is how it is whether you like it or not. The people who are talking about giving Africa only 2 spots need to shut up.

CONCACAF AFC and OFC has not done anything special in the world cup
SportsRe: World Cup 2010 - Should Africa Be Allowed 5 Teams In 2014? by CLT123(m): 10:39pm On Jul 01, 2010
Quarter finals

Africa 1 out of 6 = 16.6% success
Europe 3 out of 13 =  23% success
South America 4 out of 5 = 80% success
Asia 0 out of 4 = 0% success

My point proven

Football broadcaster and former Socceroos captain Johnny Warren, expressed his desire for Australia to join Asia. Despite previous attempts to do so, each notoriously ending in failure, a story was leaked from Tokyo in March 2005 suggesting that FIFA had entered into secret discussions with the AFC on this very issue. On 23 March, the AFC Executive Committee made a unanimous decision to invite Australia to join the AFC.

AFC President, Mohammed Bin Hammam, outlined reasons for this decision.

As well as being a developed football nation, Australia brings a developed economy and this is actually what we want in football. Besides Japan, Korea, China and Saudi Arabia if Australia joins the benefits are huge, this is what we're after.
On 17 April, the OFC executive committee unanimously endorsed Australia's proposed move. FIFA approved the move on 30 June, and it took effect on 1 January 2006.
Australia represented Oceania in 2006 not Asia

In 2006 no Asian teams made it to the Round of 16. In 1998 no teams made it. In 1990 no teams made it.

You make it seem like Africa have been receiving 5 spots since the begining of time. They just started since 1998. Asia gets 4 spots but they cant do anything in the world cup besides Korea in 2002.
