Hi Bro, from what I see here, the reasons for refusal are kind of much and I think it’s something you should take ur time to address. Personally what I consider first in traveling is the money aspect because I feel like aside from proving to VO, I still need to be ok with what am leaving the country with because it can be worst being stranded financially abroad than Nigeria. My advice will be see how to work on your finance. Take your time plan again for the trip, Your course of study and it’s future prospects. With increased savings, most of the reasons for refusal will be answered. I initially wrote a long story, but i had to erase all cos it will be useless not addressing the financial part and rushing to reapply. If u r wondering why I based a lot on finance, here are my reasons: 1. Deduct the amount you have planned for the course/program from your present balance, then ask urself if u will have something reasonable left for the other member of the family here in naij. 2. After paying your expected first semester fees, can what is left cover your balance to the expected first year living expenses n schooling expenses? I think these are important to the VO, but I believe shud b more important to you. Now I don write the story again. My final advice is take your time, work on your plan and finance again. You can even include ur family in the trip (because outside Nigeria, family is considered the best source of mental strength, focus and drive) Note: I want to believe you read the refund policy of the school and your requesting for refund won’t affect the amount paid in anyway (considering reasons for visa refusal). If it will, Please ignore all what I wrote and wait for a better advice. Best wishes toluwalase1960: |

shupy: Yes, it’s possible to still get the July admission, but the chances are very slim, why not leave it for February/March. That way u get enough time for processing (should the embassy require that). Also it gives u more time to think and see if you would have done anything differently from the previous application. But if your mind and faith is strong and you believe. Then you can always go for it. Good luck man 2 Likes |

shupy: Hi Shupy, sorry you got a refusal. That stuff hurts.I read your post some weeks back or so, and saw where u pointed not attaching your sisters other account. Here are some point I want to draw to your attenrion: from the CO’s reasons, I can tell 1. The account has good inflow, but the outflow is high, leaving the account to a very low balance at the end of the day/month. This means that the business makes lots of money but they are not sure it will be able to cater for other expenses outside the business needs. 2. Let’s assume the balance as at 09/03 was enuf for your first year needs in Australia, but evidence from previous months shows that the said amount may not be there as at the time of visa review. Or possibly They even verified account and discovered it wasn’t there. My suggestion/Idea: 1. My advice is inform account holder about these complains and see if money can be held for some months to help your 3month SOA have a great increase in monthly balance. What that means is that “say they leave 10m at the end of business in June, then end of July they leave another 15m, so closing base for July becomes 25m plus” if this is done for the length of your next application, I believe it can help. But here’s the challenge, that not a good business decision and is difficult to keep money that could generate more in an account. 2. In place when suggestion 1 is not possible, then i will advice you plead with the SOA owner to provide as much as possible other investment documents, properties, bond investment, personal cars document. In summary anything that has great Value to show he/she can actually afford buying things even with the low ending balance. Please note: this was purely my thought and it has got no embassy stamp or anything. It’s just a man to man advice based on thinking and reasoning. So you may ignore if it doesn’t sound right to you. Wish you luck in your next application. 4 Likes |

akinke: Thanks bro. Any idea about their metro system and if it’s functional. @bligs adviced same, but in his further explanation, he mentioned some things that are also important, like metro, diverse job opportunity and all that. This are factors that are very important too, MSc IT in QUT is in Brisbane, which is part of the cities with opportunity, so now it leads me back to the doing lot of thinking again, cos both got their own advantages n disad. But functional metro system is a big factor for a fresher in a country. U can’t just buy a car immediately. You need to know lots about the routes and road system. Metro saved my trip to France, Paris metro system is wonderful that, there is a station that’s just some few minutes walk to your house. Same experience in India and other countries. Functional metro is a big factor for me. Uber for short distance can cost as much as 30-40 euro. That shit can be crazy. A weekly or monthly metro/bus pass is always a saver for someone in a foreign land. 1 Like |

bligs: Your replies appear to be kind of deep, so I will assume you are in Australia or have some one of close relationship there. I wanna ask two questions, we may be different, but sometimes we have People with similar wants/needs. What/where will be your decision if it was a choice for you to make or assist your brother in making. Also, I have lived outside Nigeria and visited other countries too, so I know family security is different from when it’s just a man abroad. So please put all factors in when replying. I just wanna make the right decision not just for myself, but family too. Also if u need to ask me questions of personal nature to help in advice, please feel free to, I believe it is all for good. If you can share more on this, I would appreciate and thanks for the time spent already. Really do appreciate |

Later, I saw this link to change information of applicatipn under processing already: https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/ I think you should go thru the link to see if it’s what you need. Nonkala: Thanks for the reply. Didn’t use an invitation initially, but told myself if I was gonna reapply, I will get one for her. I don’t understand how u got the bolded part. Did u attach invitation letter for your previous application? If yes, then I guess the English there Refers to the person who sent you an invite. Then in that case I will advice u make sure all expenses n bill will be covered by you (from Accommodation to feeding n all as the person’s financial status may not b able to cover that). This advice is solely from English translation of the bolded part. No experience in the saying. Just plain reasoning |

@all please I really need an advice on this, I n wife was refused on the basis of “ties to Canada and home country”. Please do you think my staying back while she goes alone serves as a replacement for that ? Also can you advice a woman to go birth alone considering it’s her first child? Please I need advice from both men n women on this. As a woman who gave birth in Canada alone, can you advice a first time mom to go deliver alone. And as a man how was it like being alone knowing your wife is going thru giving birth in Canada alone. This things gave me sleepless night. I really need advice. |

Nonkala: @rowon, hope this helps you n it’s not coming in late.... I got a denial today, n the reason was “ family ties in Canada n home”.. like u, I had my money invested in Tbills (am a business man, can’t have my money sitting in my account for no reason) statements: 12m tbills cert n less than 400k in two other accounts (one where tbills was bought n the other family Expense account), n also 1.3kusd in dorm account. Saw your message earlier but didn’t want to advice as I was yet to get a reply from my own application I used the tbills cert. Now here are the things I would love to share with you, as to help shape up your own application if you are yet to submit n for any other who falls in this our category. I won’t say I don’t know why the denial came in as anyone might see us (myself n wife) as a young couple about to run away from Nigeria. My application was tourism I used hospital address, n I wrote a cover letter explaining our giving birth in Canada, the tbills maturity dates and the (3 out of 6) intend to use for this trip n d one for backup. Budget sheet for the trip (20kcad) and previous vacations flight n hotel receipts was also added. (I advice you go thru your own application over n over n also decide on weather to liquidate some of your tbillls to have raw cash like greatly advised here or use the cert as proof of fund availability...which ever pls take ur time to decide) Now my options which I will prefer older/experienced minds to advice me on: Should I let my wife apply n go alone while I stay back as a tie in nigeria(lol)?.....(It will hurt my wife if I present this option...) Or should we give birth in Naija n can do that for second child when we are ready? (She won’t be happy with this, as there was a reason why we want to shape our kids life a little differently from ours.) Pls advice. |

johnsonm2g: First of, I will like to commend the saving habit of you and your dad. It’s very impressive if really what you stated is what you guys(sorry for includin ur dad in the term) earn. I know a lot of people that earn more but don’t have that savings and keep complaining daily about how Nigeria is this and that. You are obviously learning something great from your dad. For the schooling, anyone can sponsor a student. In this case your dad is in perfect position as everything put together shows he will be able to sponsor you. You should add your own statement, trust me, beyond money, a lot of things are also considered when granting one visa. So both statement should be used. Your dad as sponsor and obviously what you have as supporting yourself too. Finally, I want you to consider the cost of the Skool you intend to apply and personally evaluate your fathers balance and yours put together. Ie, what will be left, after taking your own Skool part, possibilities of saving as well as paying fees too. This help you to analyze your travel plans before even applying for visa. Wish you well and hope you get the visa. Have visited France and would tell you it’s a nice country. Just try n learn the French faster and life will be smooth for you over there. Good luck. |

nanie89: Paper application is when u submit you application and documents to their office in your country. Online application is when you apply online and scan all your decumemts online. To make it simpler, paper Na wen u carry your application n your supporting document go give them for office, then online Na wen u fill the form online n scan document online. About faster, I don’t know, but for someone who has less ideas about how the whole process works. I will advice paper as it gives you the opportunity of having your application checked by the staff at the application center. They inform you of mistakes and you get the opportunity of correcting them and bringing them back another day. That’s my own little knowledge. Hope it helps 3 Likes 1 Share |

Hi @hotstepper n ALL, please I need comments on this budget which I have drawn from infos here and on the net. Part of me feel like it can be reduced or adjusted. Actually what zenith bank does is withhold the money. If the bid is successful from their end, then they credit interest, but if otherwise, the amount is left in the account. I will advice you wait till the end of business today, one of the earlier stated will be the case. Regards xtosync: |

Cyberknight: In addition to this. Here is a short way to access your self before applying for visa, first you deduct the expected expense for your trip from your account and check the balance. ie flight, accomadatiom and upkeep to the country your are going to, the balance after deduction should be enough for you to continue your life wen you come back. Another thing that can replace this is having great investment and assets of different kinds. If the above is not clear to the VO, then the next becomes, what is the importance of the trip to your career and future. If no linking, it then come accross as one trying to flee from his/her country. I think we should try to check ourself properly before applying for visa in order to reduce visa denial history. My advice is build your account and for your own good make sure you have something to come back to, cos going out and not getting what you expected abroad can be fraustrating and depressing. |

DonTee07: This argument has been had on this thread several times and I read thru them all before applying for my visa. The bolded part is the most important of the whole visa application. If you like pay for hotel and flight, if you don’t have valid documents to show strong ties in naij, I doubt if you will be given the visa. But for me, after I read the argument on here in earlier post, I felt like after documents and all have been added to your application, a paid hotel reservation will serve as a strengthener to you application ( this mayb wrong, but it’s my own thought). But because these bookings.com reservations and it’s like get canceled after two days, then it’s more like u didn’t do any reservations then ( still my own thoughts tho). Like I said, you are 100% correct abt having strong ties, but the question is what is the definition of strong ties to different VO and for different people. 1 Like 1 Share |

greeners222: What I did was to view thru booking.com for hotels in Paris, then googled them to get their website ( I used google chrome so I can translate to English). Then I booked direct from the website. Now here’s the trick, u will be charged the first night as deposit. But I advice you book months to trip, as you can cancel reservation few weeks to the expected arribal date and you will be refunded in full. For me, I used classic hotel Paris bastille ( tho the hotel is full and no more available space) it’s 132/122€ per nite with buffet breakfast. I booked two weeks since October. When I go the visa in November, I changed my reservation to the first two days and completed the days with Airbnb booking. You can cancel all and get full refund as long as it’s some weeks or days to your expected arrival date. Pls make sure you read the hotels cancellation policy. This is VERY VERY IMPORTANT.... 1 Like |

darlingbrain: I was new on the France thing wen I applied too, but it’s a direct process. From this thread I learnt it is good to show a valid hotel reservation, which I did and got my visa. It worked for me and for a lot of people here too. Documents: SOA, cover letter(stating ur reason for trip and places to visit and possibly proof to show u will come back to naij) business document or employment doc as the case may be, flight reservation, marriage certificate if it applies. Any form of investment or property in your name or spouse or child. Generally any document that shows u r okay in Naija and don’t need to run. They don’t accept visa copy except USA and Canada, UK and all that. What I would advise is if you have visited other countries and can lay hold of your accommodation booking and flight ticket, just attach it as supporting document of previous vacation. Don’t use it for the sake of country visa n all that. I guess that’s all I can think of right now. that’s my own little advice |

yusfaith78: I don’t think this much was needed, but had to submit all these as I don’t have plan b for our anniversary this year. We both studied/lived in India for 2yrs, sponsoring the trip so we used my account. . My statement (8m+, 500k, and 2kusd ), Treasury Bill certs for 8m investment, documents of our new company owned by myself n wife (registered in June this year), and first anniversary receipt (flight n hotel) as the trip to Paris is for our second anniversary. I guess it was kind of much, but i felt like if its available then why hold back. Like I said, I don’t think this much is required, above all just make sure u own whatever document you submit for any visa application as that’s the only way u can guarantee authenticity. 1 Like |
