There’s a reason why these judges are often lax in judgment against abusers . Because they’re one and the same.

The Charleston County magistrate who in 2015 told grieving Emanuel AME families that white supremacist shooter Dylann Roof’s relatives were “victims too” — has pleaded guilty to two federal charges: possession and distribution of child s*xual abuse material (CSAM).

Gosnell faces up to 20 years on each count, a mandatory minimum of 5 years, restitution, and lifetime sex offender registration.

Federal prosecutors say the CSAM recovered from Gosnell’s devices specifically included infants and toddlers.

In their motion opposing bond, they laid out Telegram communications between Gosnell and a co-defendant (who has already pleaded guilty and agreed to cooperate) describing a planned trip to jointly abuse a infant, plus alleged references to past international trips connected to abusing young children abroad.

Gosnell spent months in jail claiming his devices were hacked (of course) and the CSAM was placed there. That story collapsed the moment a plea was on the table.

No matter how horrific the crimes, they always portray themselves of the victim.

Gosnell is the same judge reprimanded by the SC Supreme Court in 2003 for using a racial slur from the bench with a Black defendant.

A man who spent decades deciding who deserved the benefit of the doubt was, by prosecutors’ account, s*xually exploiting children this the whole time.

Sentencing date is to be determined.

Gosnell was originally appointed to the bench by Republican SC Governor David Beasley in 1996.

🤔🤔🤔
Leaked EMS audio reveals Mitch McConnell was found unconscious at his DC home, triggering an urgent Advanced Life Support response. CPR was administered on-site for cardiac arrest before he was rushed to the hospital.

He hasn’t been seen in public since.

At the time, his office only said he'd been 'admitted to the hospital' and called it a 'mystery ailment.' They never mentioned CPR. They never mentioned cardiac arrest. That only came out this week, from an EMS dispatch call first surfaced by Punchbowl News.

His staff claims he is "recovering and working" but the actual emergency dispatch tells a completely different, far more alarming story.

McConnell is 84. He's had multiple falls in recent years, including one that left him with a concussion and a cracked rib. He's frozen mid-sentence at press conferences. And now we know his heart stopped and he needed CPR to be revived.

He's missed more than 20 votes since June 14. His office won't say if he's still in the hospital. No one has confirmed seeing him in public in over two weeks. He's still a sitting senator, drawing full pay, while Kentuckians have no idea if the man they elected is capable of doing the job.

If you can't tell voters what's actually wrong with you, you're not fit to keep casting votes for them.

Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by cococandy(f): 9:02pm On Jun 30
Notice what the presidents who wanted unilateral unlimited powers have in common? They’re all republicans. They keep screaming “small govt” in the faces of their constituents but they’re the big govt.

The Supreme Court ruling today might be a little confusing so let’s simplify it a bit.

✨Before now, Congress made some agencies independent of the President. That meant the President couldn’t randomly fire their leaders simply because he disagreed with them politically. It had to be misconduct, negligence, etc.

✨Independent agencies existed so experts could make decisions WITHOUT political pressure. It allowed the people who spent their entire lives studying and practicing their field of expertise to make the right call without interference.

The President now has more power to fire and replace leaders of agencies like:

🔹Federal Trade Commission (FTC): Consumer protection, stopping monopolies
🔹Federal Communications Commission (FCC): TV, Radio, Internet, Cell Phone Regulation
🔹Federal Election Commission (FEC): Campaign finance and election rules
🔹National Labor and Relations Board (NLRB): Union and workplace disputes
🔹Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC): Product recalls and consumer safety
🔹Equality Employment and Opportunity Commission: Employment discrimination laws
🔹Merit Systems Protection Board: Protects federal employees from improper personnel actions
🔹Surface Transportation Board: Railroad and some freight transportation regulations.

❗️The Supreme Court, in a later decision, decided this could not apply to the Federal Reserve.❗️

However, you can see what a major problem this could be. We have a President who is corporations first, and now he has full power to force these people to comply 100% or be replaced. Only loyalists may have their jobs.

✨This also, of course, gives us the power to end their jobs as soon as we resume power, but imagine the amount of damage that can (and will) be caused in the meantime.

👉 His claim about other Presidents wanting this to happen is true - those Presidents were Reagan and Bush. Obama, Biden and Clinton all supported agency independence - they wanted the best experts making the best choices. Their terms were successful because of this - experts always know better than a President does.

✨History has shown that concentrating power and replacing independent agencies with loyalists is a feature of democratic backsliding and can lead to authoritarianism. We have checks and balances in place to ensure the government is forced to work for the people, not for the king.

⚡️H!tler, in an act called “Gleichschaltung”, systematically replaced and “unalived” any officials that were not loyal to his regime. He eliminated or took control of any institutions that could act as checks on his power. We are watching an American version of this and have been all year.

I don’t know how we are going to fix any of this - the choices they’ve been making lately threaten the American way more than anyone in our history. You’d think they hated America, honestly.

Anyway, I read that adding emojis to your subject splits/paragraphs can help people read them easier - I have been trying to do it more but I don’t know if it’s annoying me or helping. Let me know. 🫠

People that live in Nigeria is this true?

Has the Trump administration killed over a thousand jihadists since he started saving Nigerian Christians?

Did they kill over 200 terrorists in one single operation? Where were the bodies displayed after this huge kill?

Did they recover so much ammunition that nothing compared to it since 9/11.

Please enlighten us as we may not be aware. But it seems like something of this magnitude would make the news in Nigeria and there would be bodies to be seen. Especially if the claim is that a thousand have been killed.

Has the terrorism situation improved?

No truer words have ever been spoken.
Cousin9999:
Americans have been brainwashed into blaming and demonizing each other for what the 1% (mega rich) should be doing. So, they don't vote to establish fair wages under the law. They don't create/join unions to create a fair/safe work environment with appropriate wages and benefits. They don't vote for controlled immigration. They don't vote for controls on the cost of living and a stronger safety net. And they're pathologically racist and vote against anything they believe benefits black people.

Instead they get angry at people for being "cheap" or "broke" or even hating poor people when they don't tip. And they blame them for why they can't pay their bills. There used to be a time in America when a waitress could afford an apartment just from being a waitress, not a nice apartment, but still decent housing. The 1% destroyed that.

They claim that unions are full of lazy people. They ignore how the 1% carefully crushed unions.

They claim rampant illegal immigration doesn't displace millions of Americans from decent paying jobs. They claim people are imagining it or making it up. Yet whenever those places get raided, magically Americans are working there. And Indians have all but invaded America in the last 15 years to fill fabricated shortages. Engineers have struggled with getting jobs for decades. Americans were told to get IT education, they did and now they can't get jobs and are getting laid off by the thousands.

They vote against more and denser housing, which makes affordable, decent housing available to everyone, and close to jobs and essential services. They vote against development of more public transportation, which would reduce the cost of living and make employment and services more accessible for everyone. They're anti "welfare," which elderly, sick, unemployed, and others need.

They're obsessed with black people not having anything to the point that they will vote against their own interests to prevent it. There are white people with major health problems who cannot work that are losing access to healthcare, food, and housing benefits because they voted for Trump. Toni Morrison talks about the deleterious effect of the profound psychosis known as racism. This is one of the motivations behind these behaviors. Some of it is probably also their neanderthal DNA.

ETA: They vote against the 1% paying taxes, which would probably clear all of America's debt and finance a bunch of stuff the country desperately needs.
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: Trump Is The 47th President! by cococandy(f): 5:13am On Jun 29
To validate his question by playing into his flawed argument is to assume that people were sitting on information that had been verified by investigators and decided not to act on it.

The “Epstein files” weren’t even a thing until Trump’s first presidency. And by that I mean the whole accusation of Epstein being a purchaser of little kids for old men and elites and the grand scale at which it was happening.

Prior to that, he had individual accusations that were treated as isolated cases and I think he served an 18 month sentence for one of them (big mistake IMO).

When the accusation by Virginia and the investigations into the trafficking ring he was running started , no president in their right mind would start releasing information on a case that was under investigation. Not without the risk of messing up the outcome and possibly giving him armor to escape justice.

That’s why Trump wasn’t expected to release them his first term. Neither was Biden expected to since the investigations were still ongoing as well. Trump knew that very well at the time yet he capitalized on it to rile up his followers. The investigation is concluded and the department of justice has been mandated to release everything now as of Dec 2025.

It’s solely on Trump’s administration to release it but we have seen how much he’s implicated in them and why he’ll never do it. Everything else is just steupid whataboutism.

Konkoja:
How many presidents campaigned to release Epstein files? How many presidents stonewalled to execute an act of parliament?
Your logic is because no president did it, then Trump shouldn't do it as well. Except that there are many things Trump has done and doing that no presidents did before which you are okay with. Why is this one different?
How can releasing records of a well known trafficker and peado be even subject to debate?
Travel › Re: World Cup Fans Frustrated By 'confusing And Expensive' Tipping Culture In US by cococandy(f): 11:47pm On Jun 28
You know ball!

FSBoperator:
Tipping culture goes as far back to when slavery was abolished in the US.

The newly emancipated slaves were barely being paid for mental jobs they could get .

Some chose to outrightly work for themselves on small plots of land .

Those who couldn't afford land or were not bestowed land by their former slave masters had to work on same plantations for next to nothing.

This led to many former slaves refusing to work unless they were paid descent wages.

To counter this, the Dixie south passed laws that made being unemployed illegal. This is the so-called Niggardly laws which was passed to criminalise unemployment in the emancipated slave population.

The Federal govt saw where this was going and knew the unrepentant Dixie south wanted to continue slavery by all means by forcing freed slaves to work for next to nothing .

So the US federal govt passed laws mandating a minimum wage and made it illegal to work for free.

To counter this, most of the Dixie south decided to arrest as much of the freed men to work in prison plantations and have freed women work as housemaids and waiters who were paid for their services in room and board (for maids) and those waiting on tables on tips.

Tipping culture has it's deep roots in American slavery and most waiters/waitresses were mostly coloured folks up till the 70s when young white college students needed extra money.

People forget that America was founded on genocide and slavery .

Fought a civil war over slavery as an institution.

Miscegenation was a criminal offense up till the 60s in most states in the south .

And America only ended racial apartheid in the 60s.

America is not the holy land most people think it is and there are still relics of that slave legacy as we can see with tipping culture, the Prison industrial complex and the free labour it extracts from imprisoned people, section 8 segregated housing , this tipping culture .

America still maintains that forced labour aka slavery is still valid but on the condition that the individuals subjected to such are imprisoned.
