Hitler's warning was right – "The Jew uses every possible means to undermine the racial foundations of a subjugated people. In his systematic efforts to ruin girls and women he strives to break down the last barriers of discrimination between him and other peoples. The Jews were responsible for bringing Negroes into the Rhineland, with the ultimate idea of mixing the white race which they hate so that the Jew might dominate."

A European Jewish civic leader named Barbara Lerner Spectre recently echoed Hitlers’ fine words – "Europe has not yet learned how to be multicultural. And I think we are going to be part of the throes of that transformation, which must take place. Europe is not going to be the monolithic societies [sic] that they once were in the last century. Jews are going to be at the center of that. It’s a huge transformation for Europe to make. They are now going into a multicultural mode, and Jews will be resented because of our leading role."

So you know why Rabbi says wave of Muslim migrant to Europe is excellent news! And no accident! The evil Jewish long range plan for Europe now materializes.

Foreign AffairsDanish Politicians Propose Sending Migrants To Icy Greenland by cocolacec(op): 10:44am On Sep 22, 2015
The Danish People's Party has proposed sending refugees to Greenland as part of a "national compromise" on the new influx.

The head of Denmark's People's Party, which is part of the country's ruling coalition, has suggested sending refugees who arrive in the country to an abandoned naval base in Greenland.

Greenland is one of the world's northernmost countries and most of its territory is taken up by glaciers. The abandoned naval base of Gronnedal, the proposed site for hosting refugees is in the western part of Greenland, where average winter temperatures can be as low as −20 degrees Celsius. In the summer, average temperatures rise several degrees above freezing.

"This is completely perfect because it was abandoned a year and a half ago and is in tip-top condition. It has everything one can dream of, with health clinics and teaching locales. Up to 300 people could live there and on top of that it is in one of Greenland’s most beautiful areas," the party's spokesman Soren Espersen said, as cited by The Local.
The party's head Kristian Thulesen Dahl said that the move could be a part of a national compromise on refugees which would allow the country to technically host refugees, but also return them to their home countries as soon as possible.

"If we were ensured that we are only helping refugees with temporary protection in Denmark, then we would be much more positive towards more coming to Denmark. That is something we are ready to accept," Dahl said.

Greenland is a former Danish colony which has achieved self-rule, but remains part of the Kingdom of Denmark.

Austria sends refugees to Slovakia

Published: 17 Sep 2015 22:03 GMT+02:00
Just 18 of an agreed 500 Syrian asylum-seekers arrived in Slovakia on Thursday under a deal with EU neighbour Austria that has sparked protest in the village where they will stay temporarily.

Depending on whether their asylum requests are recognised, the Syrians will either be ultimately returned to Austria or deported from the EU, Slovak interior ministry spokeswoman Michaela Paulenova told AFP.

The 18 men were transferred by bus from Austria's Salzburg to a temporary asylum camp in Gabcikovo, a southwestern Slovak village of 5,400 people.

Five hundred asylum-seekers are to be temporarily accommodated in Gabcikovo under the agreement with Vienna.

"This number will be reached in the following two years. We have no information on how many asylum-seekers and when they will arrive. It's up to the Austrian interior ministry," Paulenova said.

Gabickovo held a referendum last month in which 97 percent of voters rejected the temporary asylum camp, but the interior ministry "is not obliged to act according to its results", Paulenova said.

Getting off the bus on Thursday, one asylum-seeker thanked "all the good people" for the possibility of staying in Slovakia, local media reported.

But villager reaction on social media was cold.

"Who wants them here anyway? I know I don't," Gabcikovo resident Beata Lelkes wrote on Facebook.

"Many homeless here would appreciate accommodation like they (migrants) are getting," resident Zsuzsanna Varga added.

The nation of 5.4 million people is among several eastern EU members staunchly against a system of fixed quotas proposed by the European Commission to distribute 160,000 refugees among the bloc's 28 members.

On Wednesday, leftist Prime Minister Robert Fico alleged the EU was no longer safe and raised the spectre of terrorists entering Slovakia under the guise of refugees, a possibility experts deem unlikely.

Somalis in Europe
While the distribution of Somalis per country in Europe is difficult to measure since the Somali expatriate community on the continent has grown so quickly in recent years, there are significant Somali communities in the United Kingdom: 108,000;[3] Sweden: 57,752 (2011);[5] the Netherlands: 37,432 (2014);[8] Norway: 36,651 (2014);[9] Denmark: 18,645 (2014);[11] and Finland: 16,721 (2014).[12]

United Kingdom
A Somali community center in London's East End (yellow brick building in the middle).
Although most Somalis in the United Kingdom are recent arrivals, the first Somalis to arrive were seamen and traders who settled in port cities in the late 19th century.[17][18] By 2001, the UK census reported 43,532 Somali-born residents,[19] making the Somali community in Britain the largest Somali expatriate population in Europe. An official 2010 estimate indicates that 108,000 Somalis live in the UK,[3] with Somali community organisations putting the figure at 90,000 residents.[18]

Established Somali communities are found in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Cardiff and Bristol, and newer ones have formed in Manchester, Sheffield and Leicester.[20] The Somali population in London alone accounts for roughly 78% of Britain's Somali residents.[21] There has also been some secondary migration of Somalis to the UK from the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.
Finland

Somalis are one of the largest ethnic minorities in Finland, and the largest group of people of non-European origin. In 2009, there were 5,570 Somali citizens, but an equal number may have received Finnish citizenship. In 2014 there were 16,721 Somali speakers in Finland.[23] According to the Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, the number of Somali-speaking people in Finland in 2010 rose by nearly 10% in a year.[24]

The Netherlands

From 1989 to 1998, the Netherlands was the second-most common European destination for Somali immigrants, only slightly behind the United Kingdom and more than double the total of the next-most common destination, Denmark.[25] However, between 2000 and 2005, there was a significant outflow of Somalis from the Netherlands to the United Kingdom, unofficially estimated to be as large as 20,000 people.[26

Turks in Europe

The Turks in Europe (sometimes called Euro-Turks) (Turkish: Avrupa Türkleri) refers to ethnic Turks living in Europe. Current estimates suggests that outside of Turkey there are approximately 5 million people of Turkish origin living in Europe, most of whom - in Germany.[1] Up to 4 million ethnic Turks live in the European Union.[2][3] About 10 million Turks live in European Turkey in addition.[4]

Turks have had a long history in Europe beginning in the Ottoman Empire when they began to migrate to Southeast Europe (see the Ottoman territories in Europe) which, other than Turkey, created Turkish communities in Bulgaria (Bulgarian Turks), Bosnia and Herzegovina (Bosnian Turks), Cyprus (Turkish Cypriots), Georgia (Meskhetian Turks), Greece (Cretan Turks, Dodecanese Turks, and Western Thrace Turks, that is Turkish Muslims from the region of East Macedonia and Thrace in Northern Greece), Kosovo (Kosovan Turks), the Republic of Macedonia (Macedonian Turks), and Romania (Romanian Turks).
Modern immigration of Turks to Western Europe began with Turkish Cypriots migrating to the United Kingdom in the early 1920s when the British Empire annexed Cyprus in 1914 and the residents of Cyprus became subjects of the Crown. However, Turkish Cypriot migration increased significantly in the 1940s and 1950s due to the Cyprus conflict. Conversely, in 1944, Turks who were forcefully deported from Meskheti in Georgia during the Second World War, known as the Meskhetian Turks, settled in Eastern Europe (especially in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine). By the early 1960s, migration to Western and Northern Europe increased significantly from Turkey when Turkish "guest workers" arrived under a "Labour Export Agreement" with Germany in 1961, followed by a similar agreement with the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria in 1964; France in 1965; and Sweden in 1967.[5][6][7] More recently, Bulgarian Turks, Romanian Turks, and Western Thrace Turks have also migrated to Western Europe.

PoliticsArab and Muslim Migration To Europe Is Not A New Phenomenon by cocolacec(op):
Arabs in Europe are people of Arab descent living in Europe today and over the centuries. Several million Arabs are residents in Europe. They form part of what is sometimes called the "Arab diaspora", i.e. ethnic Arabs or people descended from such living outside the Arab World. Most of the Arabs in Europe today are from the Maghreb.
Demographics

The current estimate of the Arab population in Europe is approximately 5 million (the total number of the Arab population in Europe described beneath is 6,370,000 people), mostly concentrated in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Greece. The majority of migrants come from Morocco (1.4 million), Algeria (1.3 million), Tunisia (950,000), Lebanon (700,000), Palestine (700,000), Syria (350,000), Iraq (250,000), Egypt (220,000), Jordan (150,000), Yemen (150,000), Libya (100,000) and Sudan (100,000).[7]

Most Arabs in Europe are followers of Islam but there is also a sizable Arab Christian community living in Europe. For example, almost half of Lebanese immigrants are Christian. Moreover, Arab Christians are more likely to seek refugee status than Arab Muslims.

Pre-Islamic Era
Arab presence Europe predates Islam, and became predominant during the eras of the Roman and Byzantine Empire, the overwhelming being Syrian Arabs. The Romans conquered Syria, and named the province Arabia Petraea, and led a failed invasion of Yemen and South Arabia and what they called Arabia Felix or "Happy Arabia". Although at the time, Syria was a non-Arab nation for the most part, it had already been home to a large Arab minority, originating from Yemeni migrants to the Syrian desert. These were assimilated Arabs, and they established a well-known presence, especially in the Severan Dynasty. In the late 180s, the Roman emperor Septimius Severus married a prominent Syrian Arab by the name of Julia Domna. Domna had a descendant, Elagabalus who eventually became Roman Emperor as well. In 244 A.D., another Syrian Arab by the name of Marcus Julius Philippus or Philip ascended to the Roman throne upon Emperor Gordian III's death. He was given the famous nickname Philip the Arab (Latin: Philippus Arabus) and came from an equestrian family. His father Julius Marinus was known to have been an Arab tribal leader and a prominent Roman citizen who played a part in Philip's ascension to the throne. The Arabs were more culturally independent under Byzantine rule. Originally Yemeni pagan migrants, they had adopted Christianity, and bore Arabic names not Latin or Greek.

The famous Syrian queen Zenobia led a famous revolt against the Roman Empire. After suffering an eventual defeat against the Romans, she spent the last few years of her living in the empire. It is claimed that Zenobia was an Arab, Aramean or of Jewish descent.

Arab occupation of Europe

Arabs in Europe have a history beginning with the Arab Empire, which conquered the Iberian Peninsula, including what is now Spain and Portugal, in 711 AD. Other Arabs occupied the Italian island of Sicily from 831 to 1072. Arabs were later expelled from those domains after the Reconquista and the Catholic Church's Inquisition of non-believers. There were also brief periods of independent Arab-Islamic colonization and occupation, in modern-day France, Switzerland, and Italy, using Fraxinet in the Gulf of St. Tropez as a base for raids and colonisation.[8]

The Iberian Peninsula was mapped as "Al-Andalus" by the new Muslim conquerors. The Arabs, as well as the overall Muslim populations (a mix of Berbers and Arabs) of Al-Andalus and North Africa, were referred to as "Moors". Spain enjoyed a golden era of Islamic culture, accompanied by a golden age of Sephardic Jewish culture. This era spawned great Arabic polymaths and intellectuals such as Averroes and Albucasis. The Islamic rule in Spain also saw the birth of the Aljamiado alphabet, an Arabic alphabet for the Spanish language. In the 1400s, the Muslims were defeated by the Christian armies in the drama known as the Reconquista (meaning "re-conquering" in Spanish and Portuguese). Much of the architecture that was concocted from this era remains intact in Spain and functions as famous tourist destinations since the Catholic monarchs decided to use them rather than destroy them.

After the Moors lost control of Spain, King Philip II made treaties with them allowing them to practice their religion if they gave up their sovereignty, signing the Treaty of Granada in 1491. The Catholic monarchs however, abrogated the treaties and threatened to expel the Moors if they did not become Christians. The Moors did so, but continued speaking Arabic, and using Aljamiado alphabet for spoken Spanish. Some followed Islam in secret (Crypto-Islam). They were later referred to as Moriscos, Moors and their descendants who converted to Christianity rather than be expelled. Religious conversion was simply not enough for the Catholic monarchs. Phillip II implemented a policy to fully assimilate the Moriscos into the Christian Spanish population and eliminate Moorish and Arab culture from Spain. The Moriscos were forced to abandon their Arabic names and adopt a completely Hispanized heritage and give up their children to be educated by priests. Philip II also made speaking Arabic illegal in the kingdom, ordered all Arabic texts to be burned, and banned Moorish attire. After a failed revolt by Morisco leader Aben Humeya (or Ibn Umayyah) in 1568, the Christian monarchs expelled the Moriscos from Spain. Many of these Moriscos headed for North Africa, mainly in Morocco, where many of their descendants settled.
Modern migration
The post-World War II migration of Arabs to Europe began as many Arabs from former French colonies like Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon and Syria migrated permanently to France. Another source of migration began with guest workers, particularly from Morocco, who arrived under the terms of a Labour Export Agreement between several European countries including Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria and France. Other events in the Arab world sent new immigration waives to Europe like the Palestinian exodus, the Lebanese Civil War, the first and second Iraq war, Libyan Civil War and Syrian civil war. Many other Arabs emigrated to Europe because of political issues in their native countries. Arabs who studied in European universities and decided to stay are another source of migration.

After the 2011 events of the Arab Spring in Tunisia and Libya, around 20,000 Tunisian and also Libyan immigrants have left their countries for France and Germany, migrating through Italy. Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel recommended suspending the Schengen Agreement and imposing border control in order to keep immigrants from migrating to their countries, but no actions have yet been taken on the issue. Currently, Italy and Greece continue to receive migration waves from Egypt and Syria since the violence in these two Arab countries escalated in 2013.[9]

Empty Churches: The Decline of Cultural Christianity in the West
We've heard it all before - Christianity in Europe is dead. To quote the famous German philosopher Frederich Nietzsche, when it comes to Christianity in Europe... "God is dead."

We've come to believe that all Europeans see Jesus as irrelevant and faith as a crutch. We've been told that secularism has completely won over European culture replacing Christianity as Europe's worldview.

And, as a result, thousands of empty churches litter the European landscape while their culture shifts evermore towards secularism. Not only this (we're told) but Islam is quickly replacing Christianity as minarets tower over church steeples from Hadrian's Wall to the beaches of Sicily.

But is this true? Is Christianity really dead in Europe?

Empty Churches: The Decline of Cultural Christianity in the West (a free ebook) is an attempt to demonstrate that cultural Christianity – not Christianity itself – has declined in Europe. It examines how evangelical churches in Europe live in a culture that increasingly marginalizes the faith. Furthermore, it examines how the same marginalization is coming to evangelical churches in America and what we can learn from both European churches and scripture about how to move forward.

Here are a few excerpts of Empty Churches.

"THE RESULT

The result of these three things (individualistic religion, a century of war, and a disregard for apologetic evangelism) is the rapid decline of cultural Christianity in Europe. So, to what extent has cultural Christianity declined?

This question is also difficult to answer. But, we can explore the results in four observations about Christianity as a whole in Europe."

"OBSERVATION ONE: Many Europeans still identify themselves a Christian, but do not actively attend Christian services."
https://images.christianpost.com/blog/full/19543/evangelical-church-attendance.png?w=640&h=340

"OBSERVATION TWO: Many Europeans are “unchurched,” meaning they have never step foot in a church for any reason besides weddings, funerals, or christenings. They have never gone to a church service to hear the gospel preached, worship in song, nor fellowship once in their entire life.
https://images.christianpost.com/blog/full/19545/unbelief-europe.png?w=558&h=694
"OBSERVATION THREE: The religious landscape of Europe is rapidly changing.

Consider the following infographic with regard to the population of unchurched Europeans."

As a former continent known as “Christendom”, Europe is experiencing a rapid change in religious diversity. The two fastest growing religions in Europe are secularism (no religious affiliation, agnosticism, atheism, &ct.) and Islam.

...another way of demonstrating Europe’s rapidly changing religious landscape is through three religious 'snapshots' of Germany, France, and Britain."

https://images.christianpost.com/blog/full/19546/atheism-germany.png?w=485&h=374

https://images.christianpost.com/blog/full/19547/islam-england.png?w=575&h=302
"AMERICA'S DECLINING CULTURAL CHRISTIANITY

It should come to no surprise that the cultural conscience of America is shifting away from alignment with Christianity. This will, no doubt, challenge the evangelical church throughout our nation. With this as a reality, what can we learn from European churches who have gone through a similar change in their own culture?

...consider the following infographic on the next page that demonstrates how our culture is changing. It will attempt to demonstrate that American culture is experiencing a change in how it views violence, drug use, human sexuality, and faith."

https://images.christianpost.com/blog/full/19549/same-sex-marriage.png?w=640&h=272
"...along with a rise in disbelief among Americans, church attendance and church planting is declining. Granted, there has been a boost in church planting numbers during the past decade (perhaps this is why the number of young evangelicals, between 23–35, rose 21% to 25% in the past 6 years), overall church attendance is still declining. As a result, many churches are closing their doors.

According to the North American Mission Board (NAMB), in 1900 there were 28 churches for every 10,000 Americans. Just fifty years later, that number plummeted to 17 for every 10,000. Since 2004, the trend is expected to continue at an 8% decrease every 4 years. This is despite the fact that our population is increasing.

The following infographic demonstrates this data where the church icon represents one church per every 10,000 U.S. citizens. The blue represents U.S. population growth."

https://images.christianpost.com/blog/full/19550/church-planting.png?w=640&h=365

"...the third thing we must admit is that a decline in cultural Christianity in America does not mean the decline of Christianity in the world.

This is a crucial point to understand. Jesus promised His church that it would never end.

Matthew 18:16 'And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.'

...the fact remains that when Jesus said His gospel was going to be taken to the ends of the earth, He wasn’t lying.

Christianity isn’t dead. It’s not even dying.

Why? Because that’s Jesus’ bride we’re talking about. And she’s alive and well."

MADRID: A Spanish football coaching school said Wednesday it is giving a job to a Syrian refugee who made world headlines when a Hungarian journalist tripped him over as he fled.
Osama Abdul Mohsen, former manager of Syrian first division side Al-Fotuwa, was due to arrive late Wednesday in Madrid, where the CENAFE coaches’ training school in the suburb of Getafe has offered him a job.
“We are a national coaching school so we decided to help a fellow coach,” the school’s director Miguel Angel Galan said on the radio after hearing in the media of Mohsen’s profession.
Mohsen will come with two of his children and Galan said CENAFE also aimed to bring over the Syrian coach’s wife and two other children later.

Foreign AffairsISIS Vs Christ (RT Documentary) by cocolacec(op): 2:27pm On Sep 17, 2015
In early 2015, a small Egyptian village was dealt a cruel blow. ISIS killed 20 men from Al-Ur because they were Christian. Now their families take comfort from their faith as they to come to terms with the loss. The whole community honours the dead as martyrs, Christian and Muslim neighbours alike mourn their deaths and condemn the killers. A few survived and are torn between survivor’s guilt and admiration for the courage shown by their fallen friends. However hard times may be for this village, the community finds solace and pride in how the martyrs’ faith remained strong to the very end.

Romance9 Reasons Why Porn Will Ruin Your Marriage by cocolacec(op): 5:28am On Sep 17, 2015
Let me start by defining the problem. The following collection of statistics was provided by Pure Life Ministries. Their sources are in parenthesis.
•Pornography is a $57 billion dollar industry (Top Ten Reviews).
•50% of Christian men and 20% of Christian women are addicted (ChristiaNet Survey).
•68% of divorces involve one party meeting a new partner over the internet, with 56% of divorces involving one party having an obsessive interest in “pornographic websites” (American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers).
•One out of three visitors to adult websites are women (Internet-Filter-Review.com).
•Of those struggling with sexual addiction under the age of 35, 40% are women (National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families).
•The largest and fastest growing group of consumers of internet pornography are 12-17 years old, with the average age of exposure being 11 years old (Internet-Filter-Review.com).
How does porn affect a marriage?

First of all, it’s sin. I’m not trying to be a fundamentalist, but we need to call it what it is. I heard a pastor say once that anytime we choose to sin, something dies. Here are nine side-effects of pornography.

1. Porn Breaks Trust. Marriages are built on trust. Ask a woman how she feels when her husband looks at porn and if she’s honest she hates it. She’ll say it feels like he is bringing other women into the relationship. And whether the man likes that or not she’s right. It’s infidelity.

2. Porn Creates Comparisons. You can’t look at images without comparing those images to your spouse. This can lead to ungratefulness, where you focus on what your spouse “isn’t” instead of being thankful for what he/she is.

3. Porn Destroys Self-Esteem. Just ask your spouse how confident they feel being naked in front of you after you’ve looked at pornography and you’ll understand this one.

4. Porn Creates Unreal Expectations. Porn is not reality! It’s a movie created by a director and paid actors who…hate to burst your bubble…are acting! It’s not real! And guess what, most of them hate it. Many of the female actors were coerced into the film industry at a very young age outside of their will. A high number of female actors take drugs to cope with both the physical pain of filming and the emotional pain. The suicide rate is high among both male and female actors.

5. Porn Destroys Intimacy. Porn in a marriage is usually very secretive. The one looking doesn’t want the other spouse to know. The result is a lack of intimacy as one spouse is keeping secrets from the other.

6. Porn Creates Shame. The enemy tempts us to look, and when we do, he tells us what a loser we are for looking. Shame is one of the worst side effects of porn. Because people often look at porn to escape stress or fear, it creates a downward spiral that goes like this. 1. Feel bad about your life. 2. Look at porn to escape. 3. Feel bad about your life for looking at porn. 4. Look at more to escape.

7. Porn is Addictive. Anyone who tells you it isn’t is wrong. Studies show that porn lights up the pleasure center of the brain more than cocaine. It’s powerful and it’s very addictive.

8. Porn Never Satisfies. The porn industry thrives on “customer dissatisfaction.” I heard a podcast explain the difference between sexual addiction and drug addiction. They stated that the drug addict craves “more” but the sexual addict craves “different.” In other words, a heroin addict wants more heroin. But a sex addict doesn’t just want more sex, he wants “different” sex.

The power behind porn is lust. And lust doesn’t crave “prettier” – it craves “different.” It’s why Tiger Woods can be married to a super model and still cheat with numerous other women. It’s not that his wife wasn’t “attractive enough,” it’s just that lust always craves “different.” The deception is that “different” will satisfy you, but of course, once you have what you craved you want something different. It never ends.

9. Porn is Progressively Perverse. Due to its inability to satisfy, pornography always leads one to greater perversity. We hear these horrible stories on the news about acts committed against children, even toddlers, and we try to wrap our minds around how someone could be so warped to do something so sick.

One of Ted Bundy’s final murders was that of a 12 year old girl. The day before he was executed he asked Dr. James Dobson to interview him. What’s incredible about his story is that he states his behavior was rooted in a porn addiction that started when he found soft-core magazines in the trash as a 13 year old boy.

What’s truly frightening is that 13 year old boys today don’t have to look in the trash. They just turn on their phone.

Of course not everyone who looks at a dirty magazine will be a serial killer. But, we have to understand that the path of porn leads to unending perversity. We live in a society where we parade sex all over the media, and then we act surprised at the Jerry Sanduskys of the world.

This is a huge subject, and I know this post gives more of the problem than the solution. The reason we’re even addressing it is because we have a passion for healthy marriages. Being debt free is pointless if your marriage is falling apart.

If you are dealing with pornography you need to get help immediately. You have to take aggressive steps towards uprooting it out of your life and getting freedom. Freedom is possible but it often takes some drastic changes and aggressive accountability.

Europe’s migrant acceptance rates

NOT since the second world war has Europe faced refugee flows of such complexity and scale as this summer's migrant crisis. The protests reported on September 1st involving hundreds of migrants at a railway station in Budapest—after Hungarian police barred their ongoing travel into Europe—were just the latest in a series of recent flashpoints from Calais to the Macedonian border.

Against this backdrop, much has been made of the comparative acceptance rates of asylum applicants by different European Union member states. Speaking in Berlin on Monday, Angela Merkel, Germany's chancellor, called for a unified European migration policy, with refugees "fairly" distributed among EU member states. (She also noted that those migrants without a right to stay in Europe should be returned home.) Germany's interior minister has announced the country expects to receive 800,000 refugees and asylum seekers this year, four times as many as in 2014.

But each potential host nation's circumstances are of course different—in terms of politics, economics, demographics etc.—and judging the number of accepted applicants at face value may not be the fair assessment Mrs Merkel alludes to. A more balanced evaluation can be made by adjusting the number of accepted applications to the population size of each country expected to accommodate new arrivals. As a large country with a population of 80m, Germany tops the list of acceptances in absolute terms, but when taken as a proportion of existing citizens it drops to tenth place (granting asylum to just 50.2 per 100,000). Britain too appears less generous when viewed in this manner. Sweden however, a relatively small nation of around 10m, is highly accommodating by both measures: it comes second in positive decisions overall, and top as proportion of population (taking 317.8 per 100,000). Hungary conversely—with a population size to match—performs poorly in both rankings.
Regardless of how the data are perceived, the sheer scale of the problem shows no signs of abating any time soon. Almost 50,000 asylum-seekers reached Greece in July alone, and some 4m Syrians had fled their homeland since the conflict began there to 2014. Meanwhile, the EU's entire 2014 asylum influx accounted for just 0.03% of its population as a whole.

King: SR1m($267,000 for family of each crane victim and permananet disability,500,000 SAR($133,000 for the Injured
JEDDAH: Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has ordered massive payouts for the families of those killed and injured in last week’s crane crash tragedy, which claimed the lives of 111 people and injured over 238.
In a royal decree on Tuesday, the king announced that there would be SR1 million paid to each victim’s family, SR1 million to those whose injuries resulted in permanent disability, and SR500,000 for each of the injured, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
The king stated that these payments would not exclude the families of the deceased, and the injured, from launching lawsuits through the courts for compensation.
He also announced that the Kingdom would host two family members of those who died, for next year’s Haj. Those who were injured and cannot complete their rituals this year would be able to return next year as the king’s guests. The family members of the injured in hospitals for treatment would be granted visit visas to remain in the Kingdom.
The king also reviewed the report of the committee investigating the incident, which concluded that the crane was blown over by strong winds on Friday while the machine was in an incorrect position.
The king ordered that the report be sent to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution for further investigations into the procedures adopted by the Saudi Binladin Group.
Meanwhile, Pakistani Consul General Aftab A. Khokher has welcomed the king’s gesture. “This once again proves King Salman’s kindness and care for the Ummah,” he said. “Although nothing can compensate for the loss of life, this will bring huge comfort to the families of those who lost their loved ones.”
Syed Abu Ahmad Akif, the Makkah-based director general of Haj in Pakistan, said: “My salute to the benevolent king for making this large-hearted announcement. He is a true leader of the Muslim world.” Akif said Friday’s deceased were martyrs, and the compensation would provide good support for their families.
Some 11 Pakistanis died in the crash and 14 were injured. At the current exchange rate, the compensation for each Pakistani martyr will come to 27 million Pakistani rupees.
Indian Consul General B.S. Mubarak described the king’s compensation as unparalleled. “It is a great gesture on the part of the king and will help alleviate the suffering of the families and relatives of those who died,” he said.
He said other than the monetary compensation, King Salman’s announcement of inviting two relatives of each of the martyrs for Haj next year was “a very thoughtful gesture.”
In India, SR1 million equals 17 million rupees. There were 11 Indians who lost their lives in the crash and 19 were among the injured. Two are still missing, according to Mubarak.
A well-known American radio broadcaster of Pakistani origin, Qamar Abbas Jafri, who performed Haj in 2013, described the king’s announcement as unprecedented. “In my 50-year journalistic career, I have not heard of any Muslim leader announcing such a healthy compensation,” he told Arab News from Washington.
“When I saw the photos of the king in the Washington papers visiting the injured and personally meeting them in Makkah hospitals, I was very impressed. In the countries where we come from, such as India and Pakistan, leaders do not even care to visit the site of accidents. They only issue sterile statements.”
Jafri said the compensation reinforces the image of King Salman as “the king of kings.”
Rashid Mogradia, chief executive officer of the London-based Council of British Hajis, said: “It shows the generous nature of the Saudis and that of King Salman in assisting all those who were affected by the tragic accident.” The speed and transparency with which the inquiry was conducted and the guilty were named demonstrates King Salman’s utmost concern and care for the guests of Allah, he said.
Two Britons were among the 111 dead.
