The level of his club performance has dropped by what standard? You watch him

A transfer to a better club is moot, that can be applied to your faves to see how moot it is. And who expects a GK to "help" a whole club away from mid table status?
I have no faves. I cherish a disciplined team with players that are of high repute and can stand their own against star players. CIV exposed him at the last AFCON and he has not been exceptional even with seeming help from our defenders. Goalkeepers do help club avoid relegation status(that is the current state of Chippa United) however that is not the subject even though I have ample evidences.
HealthLovotibeglogene Autotemcel: A Cure For Sickle Cell Anemia by Cocony(op):
The safety and effectiveness of lovotibeglogene autotemcel is based on the analysis of data from a single-arm, 24-month multicenter study in participants with sickle cell disease and history of Vaso-occlusive episodes (VOEs) between the ages of twelve and fifty years. Effectiveness was evaluated based on complete resolution of VOEs (VOE-CR) between six and eighteen months after infusion with lovotibeglogene autotemcel. Twenty-eight (88%) of 32 participants achieved VOE-CR during this time period.

The FDA granted the application for lovotibeglogene autotemcel priority review, orphan drug, fast track, and regenerative medicine advanced therapy designations. The FDA granted approval of Lyfgenia to Bluebird Bio Inc.

In March 2025, Cohen Children's Medical Center announced that through the use of this treatment the first person in New York State was cured of sickle cell anemia.

A lot of dodgy takes in this radio podcast.
The case of Justin Madugu's delayed appointment is one borne out of arrogance and indecision on the part of NFF. Something in their minds tells them it will be a stroll in the pack over the Beninoise. If they knew they were meeting the Ghanaians or South Africans at this stage and not the Beninoise, they would have long appointed a permanent manager for the Falcons and opened camp long before now.

Charles Anazodo made more sense that is progressive as per continuity. The grey headed brother doubts Chelle's competence (which has been proven for taking us to the point of playoffs as it could have been worse on the hands of Peseiro or Finidi).

Again, this post inadvertently proves my point. I still cannot fathom why you feel so hurt because your football opinion is challenged.

Perhaps, your age has something to do it with it, because I deduce you're an "oldie" because of your reference to Super Eagles matches of the 80's, and you think no one should challenge your opinions.

If na so, forget am!. Here na public forum, and people go everly counter your opinion and accuse you of pushing an agenda as they deem fit.

Develop a thick skin, keep an open mind, stop viewing counter posts as an affront to your football knowledge and you'll enjoy this thread.

Best regards.
Another wrong assumption. Being an oldie or young person has no direct bearing with stating truths and facts and quashing wrong illogical statements branded as agenda.
By the way, I am not hurt and when I posted my ideal first 11 for the Gabon game I said constructive criticisms are welcome so how did you come up with the idea that I feel I should not be challenged?
On the contrary,it is some self-imposed experts and their lackeys (that brand themselves as been on Nairaland for a longer period) that suggest by their statements and counters that feel they should not be challenged.

If you seriously think people are only criticizing Nwabali because of bias or favoritism, in spite of the ACTUAL recent events that even materialized the debate in the first place, then I don't know what else to tell you.

It's hard to discuss topics like this when people who are simple-minded, to put it lightly, insist on making everything about agendas and sentiments.

Apparently, it's a crime now to point out legitimate concerns about certain players.

This is why Nigerian football is crumbling in all cardinal directions, with no limit in sight - because people would rather engage with imaginary issues rather than face the reality at hand.

At least make an actual argument for your case instead of trying to assume the motives of honest and concerned fans. THIS is how to make your case.

Rambling about imaginary favoritism is no different from people who make everything about tribe or champion the quota system rubbish.

Let's be guided abeg.
Excellent.

Ore, your mindset is so wrong. Why do you take these things to heart?

The same way you believe your opinion is the objective truth is the same way others with an opposing view believe theirs is.

Everyone must not accept your opinion, and you mustn't accept other people opposing opinions too.

At the end of the day, we all agree to disagree agreeably.

Or is there more to it?
Point of correction: There is nothing wrong about my mindset. Stating the obvious should not make you or any other have any form of tremor if you or others are sincere. I always state that my point must not be accepted to be truths and facts and likewise your points or that of others that seem self-imposed does not equate to NFF or the Coach's final decision.
If people can come up with the Agenda theory and in your opinion their mindset is right they should also label Eric Chelle as having an agenda for scouting for goalkeepers. The logic should follow that trend. In retrospect someone like Okocha and Oliseh that did not play a role in the first round of USA 94 WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS WOULD HAVE BEEN REGARDED AS AGENDA WHEN THEY WERE CALLED UP FOR THE 2ND PHASE OF THE WORLD CUP QUALIFIERS. THAT SHOULD ALSO BE AGENDA. THAT WAY YOU ALL SHOUTING AGENDA WOULD SEEM TO MAKE A POINT THOUGH VERY ILLOGICAL AT BEST.
THIS IS MY STANCE.

And we need all our players in very high spirits for the play offs
Maybe some of them read comments here to asses their performance & it could be a distraction
I think they (the Federation & technical crew) just need to talk to him, that’s all
Na DRC i dey fear sef, no really big name distraction. They’d just come to play ball
Read comments to assess their performance and it could be a distraction! Really ridiculous. The aim of most of us writing(myself particularly) is geared towards healthy competition in all positions not some over dependence or lack of a game changer on the bench. It just baffles me to read your assumption/assertion. They have not been distracted at their clubsides that pay their monthly wages so it is at the National team level they will be distracted. Another attempt at forcing an assumed/false notions on Nairalanders and its guests.

When you fumble you get warned and eventually replaced especially if you have a tactical Coach. Ask Westerhof after the 1st round of 1994 World Cup qualifiers why he brought in Wilfred Agbonavbare from Rayo Vallecano despite not CONCEDING a goal in the 4 matches played against SouthAfrica and Congo Brazzaville after being grouped against Algeria and Cote D'Ivoire in the 2nd Round of qualifiers and yet Alloy Agu, Peter Rufai and Ike Shorunmu did not man the post in the later 4qualifiers.
None of the self-imposed experts has given any answer or reasoning behind Westerhof's action in retrospect and they are not seeing some degree of similarity with what might happen in the playoffs. Maybe at that time it was also an agenda to Rubbish Peter Rufai and Alloy Agu as some folks are indirectly positing on Nwabali's issue.

You actually said nothing cos your point is Akin to accusing ERIC CHELLE OF AN AGENDA as he is in Europe monitoring other goalkeepers and most of us are in our mansions or houses in Nigeria. Your illogical theory should also apply to Eric Chelle for going to Europe to scout for other goalkeepers.

I would respect it more if they just said they want Maduka to play. If u want a player, you have the right to champion for that player but don't throw stones when u know u live in a glass house. They are trying to destroy Nwabali's character instead of talking football and I don't like that one bit.
Football is first about winning via scoring goals, defending well which includes good goalkeeping, then excellent skillls display and as important playing for the team and playing to the Coach'instruction. An unseen part of it is the vibe/character you bring to the game. Ask Roy Keane, and Mario Balotelli.
Most of you do not feel strong correct ideas should come from somewhere else obviously with your stances a day or 2 prior to the Benin game till today so hold your views as superior and permit others to hold theirs as same.

Lol. Is it so cumbersome to believe that a team like Italy or even France or Argentina can have a plan for more than 1 player in our starting 11? Is it out of the realm of possibility? 😂

Is it so difficult to believe that coaching crews of top opposing teams can study footage of our games and identify key weaknesses in any position? Like areas where we lack composure and stability? Players whom they can exploit?
Queenjazz, some of the folks thinking contrary are the ones that are glaringly oblivious of the truth and facts. They are the same folks that make one think that there is an idea that some folks points must be countered even when the truth stares in the face. I don't believe discussions should stay for long as negative so that it will not be boring. That is illogical. Anyway, Queenjazz, your points are valid and don't need the validation of some seeming self-imposed experts to be truths and facts.

Someone goes out of his way to do a compilation of Nwabali's errors and posts it on youtube and you dont see an agenda there hey? Thats damn nitpicking. When he was the last line of defence and did the saves, no one did compilation. I am n ot even exonerating Nwabali but this needs to be called out for what it is. It is very misleading to go do compilation of a goalie's errors to what end? We can also do a compilation of Osimhen misses that will make you just downright dislike him and question what people see in him that is so special. When Gary Lineker did his, it was very subtle. And the deed got done nicely. Now he is apologizing to Osimhen, doing damage control for his own credibility
At the end of the whole taking sides with NWABALI and false assertions of PR for Aniagboso and later on Okoye to the rubbish claim of errors compilation, ERIC CHELLE and NFF will decide who to invite and Eric Chelle will make his decisions on whom to start and that will be what matters. For now we will keep following the performances of our players with the playoffs in view. What irks my displeasure in most of you is the forcing wrong notions on many as though some of you were supreme and when countered you come with flimsy verbosities against people who don't tow you people's line of thought.

I stand to be corrected the call for Okoye's replacement was hinged on both the 4:4 DRAW with Sierraleone in Ogbemudia(Or is it Ogbe) stadium in Benin City and the goal conceded against Tunisia in the AFCON 2nd round match in 2021.
NWABALI was in the starting lineup of a Chippa United team that lost 4:1 to Richards Bay in a Cup Match in South Africa if I am correct on October 5th 2025. Yet he had an extended lifeline against Lesotho and Benin which he nearly goofed. Why do you think he does not need to be temporarily dropped for someone else for the play offs?

Argue it if you must, but Okoye has just returned to football. We're grateful but it's too early for PR.

Again, everyone is rightly calling out Nwabali's antics and the errors in the last round of qualifiers BUT it is extreme to rubbish his prior good work.
A GK whose first cap was in an AFCON with a MOTM that sent us to the final neither becomes shyt overnight or deserves amnestic criticism
His first cap was in the 4:0 loss to Mexico in a friendly in 2021 even though he was later substituted. Now I ask has he met European opposition or any other tough opposition aside African teams since then? The answer is no. He was above average at AFCON and yes no doubt did well to give us hope after UZOHO faltered but he is in decline and needs time off for another to step in.

1. This just proves the point that you'd say anything no matter how irrelevant to attack him. What is the direct relation of his goalkeeping with their league standing? Did he drop stinkers that cost games?
At least put effort into this your criticism na.

2. It's not like you are the only one rightly calling out his antics but spare us that "Lagos national stadium" trope

3. Objecting to your exaggerations and whitewashing is not support for decay. What is more erratic than describing one game after months of layoff as "done well" or the subtle PR for Aniagboso.

Okoye faced sterner tests before he lost his place to Nwabali, so he is not doing anything new now that he is improving. When opportunity presents itself for him to take back the starting shirt, he should take it.
False narrative for someone that should know and speak better and the truth.
1)If South Africans on facebook where he resides and play his trade are echoing the sentiment of his dip in form/bad attitude/sympathy in line with loss of his parents , is it you that will over rule the truth or fact?
2) I am no PR for Aniagboso and if he messes up I will be among the earliest to criticise .
3) Is Okoye a better option mentally speaking yes and apart from yesterday's match with Cremonese, I believe he will prove his new form is not a flash in the pan
4) DO YOU REMEMBER THE STATEMENT FROM LATE YEKINI: THE PASS SIASIA NEVER GAVE ME (I THINK NIGERIA VS COTE D'IVOIRE IN ABIDJAN 1993 WHERE WE WERE BEATEN 2:1) AND AMOKACHI CAME IN STRONGLY IN THE NEXT GAME AGAINST ALGERIA IN LAGOS AND ALSO AFTERWARDS BECAME THE MAIN SUPPORTING STRIKER?
SAME RULE MIGHT APPLY IN THE GOALKEEPING SECTION FOR THE PKAYOFFS IF NWABALI DOES NOT SHAKE OFF HIS BAD ATTITUDES TO HIS CAPTAINS, HIS POOR SENSE OF JUDGEMENT AND ERROR PRONE KEEPING FROM THE PAST AGAINST LOWLY FIFA RANKED TEAMS

LIKEWISE, A THREAD FOR EUROPEAN CLUBSIDES HAVE BEEN EXISTING ON NAIRALAND FOR MANY YEARS NOW.

IN FAIRNESS TO LAID DOWN NAIRALAND RULES LOOK INTO THE MATTER OF ADDRESSING ME AND CAPITALCEE AS SAME, AS WELL AS COMMENTING ON EUROPEAN CLUBS OR COACHES THAT DO NOT HAVE A DIRECT BEARING ON SUPER EAGLES PAST, PRESENT OR FUTURE.

The Russia friendly was a huge relief for some of us that Okoye was solid because who relies on one GK. I remember how cold sweat and chills came upon me when it seemed Nwabali was injured in the last group game at AFCON.

It is a good thing for us to have options in GK ready to go above and beyond. However must one be pulled down for another? Who do una this thing sef
My brother, we or some of us are not pulling down NWABALI.
Have you asked yourself these:
1)Where was Chippa United after these same number of games last season?
2)Super Eagles fumbled earlier in the qualifiers and he was part of the fumbling and when a redemption song presented itself to be sang why was he "singing his own song" against Lesotho and Benin(a feat we would not have entertained years back when Lagos National Stadium hosts NIGERIA'S games) with wrong attitudes and the near miss for Lesotho that would have made it 2:2?
3)Have we gone so low as a Nation that we support decay just because the source once tasted like honey and we call it a phase?
There is room for therapy, mind you not only Maduka did well, Aniagboso did well also in Europe so thinking we are pulling him down is erratic rather he should not pull us down with inconsistencies that might eventually cost us the WORLD CUP PLAYOFFS TICKET.
ONCE UPON A TIME OKOYE TO ME FELT LIKE SHIT NOT NECESSARILY THE TUNISIA 1:0 SECOND ROUND LOSS BUT THE 4:4 DRAW WITH SIERRA LEONE IN OUR OWN BACKYARD AND SO IT IS NOT AS IF HE IS OUR FAVE.
OF THE LOT WE HAVE, HE HAS IMPROVED AND FACED STERNER TESTS WHEN COMPARED WITH NWABALI AND THAT HAS BEING AND STILL IS MY POINT.

Pls define rookie for me

Yes Ezenwa was not regular in NPFLwhen he kept against Cameroon
Let's start with Ikechukwu Ezenwa not being regular before the Cameroon match: Over a span of 3years he kept 61 matches for Heartland of Owerri, he left for Sharks and kept 45matches up till 2014. Moved to Sunshine Stars between 2014-2016 and like CapitalCee rightly stated he was with Ifeanyi Ubah between 2016-2017 where he kept 28matches.N IGERIA vs CAMEROUN 4:0 invitation came on the heels of his previous performances at youth level plus his consistency/regularity with the clubs he featured for. THESE ARE FACTS NOT STATEMENTS NEEDING SELF-PROCLAIMED EXPERTS TO VALIDATE.
I am still trying to recall if he was part of a Silver winning CHAN TEAM IN GHANA.
