collaboration is a very important skill every developer must possess, most junior Dev or newbie don't know git and how important it is, so on our WhatsApp group I will be teaching how to use git and github with practicals, we are going be making a job listing website with recommendation, so if u are interested join the group via the link on the first post. it going to be interesting cos we have frontend specialist, machine learning enthusiast, backend engineers on the group and there is a lot to learn. so we are going to share the task among those that are interested in learning git with real world practice on the group.

Nice I can literally see the pain taking to build the UI...why did you not use a CSS framework....I also noticed something I need to click on the title for me to enter a post it would be easier if I can click the meta description and view the post

when I started with the UI I only know bootstrap and I don't like it, i later encounter tailwind CSS, someone on this forum introduced me to the framework and I love it, it allows me to write custom components with class names but I have already written CSS myself, so I plan to use tailwind in the future but for now I have more important things to focus on. like consuming new API to give visitors something to do for those that are not into tech

Expert and amateur of this great NL section, I am happy to introduce to you the Whatsapp group i created for developers. This Whatsapp group welcomes all sort of developers as long as you write codes. This Whatsapp group is created for multiple reasons
1. To help each others out which is obvious
2. Before programming became mainstream programmers are known as nerds, i.e. People that necessary not good with other people. So, this group is created to help socialise, and colloborate with other devs on more personal level
3. To share new techs, job opportunities e.t.c

I created a Django project and started to write codes, if u see anything on the platform, I wrote it, even the unnoticeable things, it is a lot of work.
The forum is a platform where u would want join, the ability to create your own category, threads, to follow people and see all their posts on ur their activities feeds, u have better of getting jobs because u get notified if a job posted meets your job tags, ability to create polls, get a bar chart and get notified when the polls expires and ability to post blogs or mini articles, the best thing here is that on complains the site get updated in real-time.

It's great job but what you should understand about NL is that it takes more than personalised content to be the best.
Let me show you what NL is doing that you aren't doing
1. Info at a glance
No matter your screen size, you can get some much info and call for action buttons without much scrolling. Yours is full of snippets and lots of scroll time
2. Be good at one thing then be adding features
NL is a news site first, then discussions. Most people visit to read the headlines and leave, majority then decided to stay back and discuss. Yours, I visited but couldn't place any thing of interest within 5 secs
3. Mobile and low end phone friendly
As you add features, make sure my itel phone with 512 MB RAM and my sis Bonotel java phone can open at least your front page

2. I get that, NL news are generated by users, then it is selected by moderator for FP, I think I would add news feed to the site.

what I thought is Nairaland design is old, that why most Nigerian don't even know it exists. copying Nairaland look won't do much good, I have see alot of NL clones that has all u said features and they don't do that well. the reason why u left the site are u weren't that interested in knowing how things work on the site and there are not a lot of contents on the site

The forum design is great to me and I spend a huge amount of time on it. The only thing missing is users, if u reading this, pls check it out, I am sure it is the best Nigerian forum u have seen, it is not just some WordPress forum site or Nairaland clone I have been seeing, that more of the reason why I wrote the code in the first place. the best part is that code can be adjusted when people wants or complains it ain't rigid like Nairaland, please the least you could is sign up and share d apps with ur networks on any SM networks on your profile.

Notice how the type of marketing your dentist employs corresponds with the intensity of the pain:
Extreme pain (morphine)
The customer is highly motivated to find a solution. They google “dentists nearby” and book an appointment with the first office that has availability.
In a situation like this, search engine optimization (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) would be the primary focus. This is “pull marketing”: the customer is desperate and in motion. They’re under pressure to find a solution quickly, which is why having good page rank (or an ad at the top of the screen) makes sense.
Businesses targeting extreme pain also have a pricing advantage. Often, the greater the pain, the more people are willing to pay (this is why Uber is able to use surge pricing).
What are some examples of products that solve extreme pain points?
Zapier: “If we don’t figure out this integration this week, we’re going to lose this deal.”
JSON-CSV: “My developer went home for the day, and I need to convert this JSON data to a CSV right now.”
Churnbuster: “How am I going to deal with all the customers with expiring credit cards?”
Moderate pain (aspirin)
Marketing moderate pain points employs both “push” and “pull” techniques.
For example, the dentist might place an ad in the paper that says:
“Experiencing gum discomfort? We can fix that”
This is push marketing: it proactively reminds the customer that there is a solution for their problem.
But some customers might be personally motivated to google “how to get rid of gum pain”, so the dentist could also write a series of blog posts on different treatment options (pull marketing).

There is a lot of opportunity to solve moderate pain points, but it’s also where many entrepreneurs fail. Finding a pain that people will pay to get rid of isn’t easy.

What are some use-cases where products solve moderate pain points?
Baremetrics: “I really wish I didn’t have to update this Excel sheet manually with our SaaS numbers every month.”
Sprintly: “I wish I didn’t have to interrupt my developers every time I needed a status update on this project.”
Low pain (vitamin)
What do I mean by “low pain”? These are problems that require more of a vitamin, than an aspirin.
These solutions require a lot of push marketing. The company needs to both show the consumer that they have a problem, and then convince them to purchase their solution.
Your dentist’s office spends a considerable amount of its budget reminding you to come in for regular checkups. They’ll send you a postcard every 6 months, and follow-up with phone calls, just to get you to book that appointment.

Dark theme is not working

the footer is fixed when scrolling up but not fixed when scrolling down. I made it like that so that u can the content very well when scrolling down

You arent a newbie ... are you?
For a newbie . . ., I'll advise they try to rack up hours working in a production environment. Coding in your bedroom , doing a todo app is way drastic in change than when coding for production and enterprise uses cases .e.g ur custom tic-tac-toe app might not require custom domain or workspace implementation, but for productions, customers will require it. This single task alone will take you a to a whole new level of computing and it's gang of wahala that it comes with. Then when you must have racked up quite some experience, you start thinking as a product engineer and not a software engineer. A SE can write code, but a PE can deliver a fantastic product that has a market and passes customer validation.
Building a product as a SE alone is a recipe for disaster, it takes a more than writing codes. At this stage, you should try do one of two things for yourself. The first few might fail, dont give up. The next one will be a banger !!!

I am not a newbie, I just thought asking that question my help people who will stumble upon this thread. since everyone goals is to either freelance, build a product or work for a company
