ProgrammingRe: Jeff Bezos Add $13 Billion To His Fortune In A Single Day 》trending by codeigniter(m): 10:29am On Jul 24, 2020
light099:
Yea, you're right son.
It's a deep concept. It's easy to disagree with something you misunderstand or you don't understand at all.

Fact 1:
Didn't you say '....they work for it'?
Well, if you ask me, i will tell you that, the 'work' of the rich is moving money from the pockets of the poor and other people to their own pockets through 'different means'.
Wealth or profit is the movement of money from one person to another.
Someone loses the money voluntarily or involuntarily, and the money goes to another person.
Someone's loss is another person's gain.
Most times, just like the jungle, it's the survival of the fittest. The stronger or strongest always win. Same way wealth flows from the weak to the stronger or strongest.

Fact 2:
Everyone works, isn't it? But the results are different.
Why? It's because we simply call it work, but if you 'zoom in', you would discover the 'works' are not the same.
The 'work' is just an empty container; there are variaties of content in the empty container that make all the difference.
The content of the the container/work might be 'hardness', as in the case of 'hard-work', it might be 'smartness' as in the case of 'smart-work'.
It might be variety of things like opportunity, connection, position and so on.
What you would discover is that most times, the contents of the bottle which would bring tangible profit are contents like power, connection, opportunity, smartness, position and the rest. If you investigate further, it's the rich people who have access to these things.

Now, if you match fact 1 and fact 2 together, it implies as, the work of the rich (strong) is using different means (opportunity, connection, position etc) to acquire money from the pocket of the poor (weak).
NDDC officials have been embezzling money meant for the whole Niger Delta region.
Who are the winners?
The rich officials using their positions to get more wealth.
Who are the losers?
The poor masses of Niger Delta.

I can go on and on.

You're still getting it wrong son.
The point is not him providing services to the world or not, but the cycle of his cash flow.
The quality services he provides can't yield any profit for him if there are no users. Isn't it? While the users of his services might include other rich people or investors who also get more wealth by using his services, but there are more average or poor people using the services who can be regarded more as 'losers' than 'winners'.

Get this, no matter how you factorize the equation of 'wealth flow', you would always end up with two factors, the winners (the rich) and losers (the poor masses, most times).
You might not derive those factors in two steps all the time, but if you continue factorizing, you would most times end up with them.
If there are no Facebook users (mostly average and poor masses using and losing their time on the forum), there won't be Facebook or any profit to the owner.
If there are no buyers or users, Dangote cannot have the wealth he has.
I agree with you, it is not everyone who uses ads profit from it, there are definitely some winner but there a lot of losers, they too must have worked hard to make it work atleast

Nairaland uses Google analytics, so whatever is done here is been tracked by the almighty google. who really care about privacy, all those shit about privacy are for legal stuff, if we really care about privacy then there will be no social media.

ProgrammingRe: Nigerian Programmers Are Great by codeigniter(m): 12:08pm On Jul 18, 2020
this arguing won't solve anything, because both of you are strictly talking from POV, it doesn't make anybody right

I believe we're programmer here, we solve problem, a guy suggested social media development which might not be the best option, even if u develop it successfully what hosting cost, marketing, e.t.c development is the least, why do u think Nairaland has so few users despite the fact that there are same people with multiple moniker, apart from bad UI, the old guy is growing organically.

another person suggest alot of ideas that are worth discussing, Nigerian programmers suck because lack of collaboration, and everybody just want to feel superior, after years of coding I realized that I am not that good, I just needed smarts.

every body want to freelance, some even want to build a whole startup for 200,000 - 500,000 alone...

if
let us catch a big fish by working together
else
we will keep nagging and pointing fingers when we are all responsible

Bottom line
let work together to build a tools not SoMedia let change the status quo.

some guy mention Nigeria using others tools

I would rather use others tools than reinvent the wheel
Tech Jobsthe best Nigerian forum ever by codeigniter(op):
after seeing a lot of people lament on NL and seeing that they (NL) ignores people who call for improvement, I saw that people need a platform beta than NL, then how do I do this, I created a Django project and started to write codes, if u see anything on the platform, i wrote it even the unnoticeable things, it alot of work, it took more than 2 months to write, and i was kind of stupid I thought beta designs and more functionalities would make people automatically use the platform, but I was wrong, well I am not surprised this is the country where people call for change but they are not ready or comfortable to change.

the forum is a platform where u would want join, the ability to create your own category, threads, to follow people and see all their posts on ur their activities feeds, u have better of getting jobs because u get notified if a job posted meets your job tags, ability to create polls and get a bar chart and get notified when the polls expires and ability to post blogs or mini articles, the best thing here is that on complains the site get updated in real-time.

I have moved the app to AWS and got a domain
www.africonn.com the forum design is great to me and I spend a huge amount of time on it. the only thing missing is users, if u reading this, pls check it out, I am sure it is the best Nigerian forum u have seen, it is not just some WordPress forum site or Nairaland clone I have been seeing, that more of the reason why I wrote the code in the first place. the best part is that code can be adjusted when people wants or complains it ain't rigid like Nairaland, please the least you could is sign up and share d apps with ur networks on any SM networks on your profile.

Well, no amount word would explain it all until you check it out

Taofeekdboy:
Heroku is slow on first loading because it is on free plan and it goes to sleep after 30 minutes of inactivity, you can buy more dynos if you don't want it to be slow, I think it is $5 per month.
Pythonanywhere is good as well but both of them have their pros and cons
Pros
Pythonanywhere is fast and easy to setup.
Pythonanywhere manage your static and media files on their server without an external cloud server.
Pythonanywhere uses MySQL but you have to pay if you want to use postgresql

Heroku is easy to setup with heroku cli
Heroku has so many add-ons like redis and the likes which makes it easier for your deployment.
Heroku allows you to add your custom domain without additional charges.
Heroku uses postgresql without additional charges.
Cons
Pythonanywhere is not free for postgresql.
Pythonanywhere does not allow free custom domain unless you are going for a paid plan.
Pythonanywhere only avail your project for 3 months and you have to refresh after that or risk being removed from their server.

Heroku is very slow on first load and you have to buy more dynos to be able to enjoy the speed.
Heroku is complicated when working with database like moving from old one to new one or adding more tables to the database.
Heroku only manage your static files but your media files need to be hosted on external cloud server such as AWS, Azure e.t.c

I use both depending on the kind of project, I am working on.
Concerning the AWS partial credential error,
Make sure you include you aws secret key and ID in django project settings.

All skills are saturated, you just have to be the best to be able to get a job, it is based on experience, portfolio, ideas you have going on.
It is not easy bro, but you just have to continue as you will get soon.
Build a strong portfolio with amazing projects, then they will come looking for you.
have u freelanced or work for some one before
