KillerBeauty: Unemployed people face a lot of emotional pain, even physical pain. A year after service after I failed to get a job, I started plantain chips business and hot oil burnt my hand when I was trying to fry the plantain.
50calibre: A week from today, the eyes of the world will be on the MGN Grand in Las Vegas as unarguably the most anticipated fight of this Century since Tyson V Lewis finally comes to fruition. This is set to be the richest fight in boxing history, generating a whooping $300 million but much like Tyson-Lewis, this is a long over-due fight 5/6 years in the making. So the pertinent questions here are; will it live up to its hype? And what are we to expect come May 2nd.
Both fighters are very different in style, Floyd is a defensive counter-puncher who's perfected the art of hitting without getting hit, while Pacquiao is a tenacious power puncher & more of risk taker who throws himself right into the mix. However the one thing both fighters have in common is speed.
Floyd Mayweather steps into the ring with a slight height & reach advantage as well as an unbeaten record (which may also be a burden) while Pacquiao will for once relish the underdog status, thus lifting the weight of expectations off his shoulders.
In my opinion, this fight could go either way, it's going to come down to which fighter shows up in better shape physically, psychologically and emotionally coupled with how well each fighter is able to deploy the most effective weapon in his arsenal. For Floyd, his elusiveness and for Pacquiao, his power.
Most pugilist fans like myself hope for an explosive fight ending in a knockout and it's up to Pacquiao the more sensational fighter to make that happen. If Floyd is able to stop Pacquiao from getting inside and unleashing his vicious combinations, then we are in for a boring 12 rounds of Mayweather over-cautiousness, with the scorecards deciding the winner and we all know Pacquiao will never win a decision over Mayweather in Vegas.
My heart is with Pacquiao as I always root for the underdog but my head tells me Mayweather. I'm contemplating wagering on Pacquiao but how do you wager against a man who's never lost? Which ever way it goes, only one man will make the transition from Champion to Legend.
I created this thread so that fight fans on this forum (I hope they're still here) can have their say. Lets hear your per-fight analysis and predictions, are we going to witness an upset? If you had to, on whom are you going to wager & why?
Seun & Mods please be kind enough to push this thread front page.
You this rokiatu and your incessant display of your ass. I bet that must be your most prized possession.. prince088: Done...why are guys not showing up? Well it was strictly personality questions. I have experience so they tackled why I am leaving where I am.
They said they will get back next week and there will be training. The issue I have now is I was not asked how long notice I will give my present company and they didnt check my credentials. That looks somehow now
They checked mine.. I think the credentials checking is a random thing. It's true some people didn't show up for the interview. I guess they don't want the job as it's a shift job which will run all through the week.
They asked some of my guys about the month notice. They can only give u 1 month as the job kicks off by June from the gist I heard. We wait till next week then.. Goodluck.
They only asked personality questions. stuff like; what irritates you? Are u a team person or an individual person and at the end they'll tell you to give them your salary range. That's all
Invite for second stage has been sent to my mail. I received it this morning. This time it's a different venue. @Niggi4life You are yet to answer my questions. please find time and address same. Thanks
niggi4life: Good Morning All Now to the first question, you guys should note that a NOC engineer is just like a security man to the entire network, he watches for any downtime and resolves it through proper escalation to the right people, morealso he/she can prevent this downtime by also escalating b4 hand, example is sending high temperature alert mails to the proper channel before a site goes down. Also note that there are different tiers in the Noc dept, the service desk engr is just d tier one, your duties demands u to watch over d network vigilantly either day or night based on d shifts and escalate to d ascending tiers (tier 2,3 etc) You MUST have sound knowledge about networking, some ISP only accept minimum of CCNA or Comptia N+ as their tier 1 engrs Now for stage 2 questions, read thoroughly about the OSI model, you can Goole more about it,most technical interviewers ask this questions, also know basic monitoring tools and softwares like Nagios, Oxidized, solarwinds, whatsup gold etc Don't worry they won't ask you too many questions apart from these, I would still write more when its fully morn Regards
Thanks bro please continue to update us. *now running to Google to find out what OSI model means*
And bro pls from your experience. How many stages of interview do we have to go through to nail this job? And are we still going to be trained on the job after getting it. Thanks for your patience.. No say my wahala Don too much
Dreay01: Wh@ are the duties/responsibilities of a service desk engineer in a NOC and wh@ type/ kind of questions would you ask if you where to ask potential employees into the postion of a service desk engineer in a NOC?
@niggi4life Please answer the above too. It would really be helpful. Thanks
niggi4life: To all those that were successful, you can ask me any questions you will like to know concerning NOC Job, am a NOC Team Lead in an ISP. Good luck
Bro please I get enough questions to ask o as I'm a Virgin in this field. I've only worked in a call center environment. Still new to this NOC stuff.. is it thru one should have a good knowledge of computer networking to excel in this field. Do u have an idea of what the stage 2 interview would look like?
mxchly: I was shortlisted too, studied physics and hv some IT experience... about 15 people only were cc'd in the mail
We share the same course of study. I also have some IT experience too.. Yeah just 15 people were cc'd out of over 60 that applied. The issue now is we don't know what the second stage is all about. I dey develop cold feet small o It is well sha
Emasel: NOC Engrs work in either ISPs or Telco companies. From the look of things, it seems the company you will be working for is an ISP.
Though NOC Engrs, whether those in ISP or Telco companies, perform similar duties : Monitoring of the Network and Providing first level troubleshooting and support for Field Engineers. NOC Engrs in ISPs need good knowledge of Computer Networking as they are required to remotely access the Switches and Routers that make up the network from the NOC to monitor their performance. I'll advise you try to familiarise yourself with Computer Networking if you don't have prior knowledge of it.
NOC Engr job is an interesting one, you basically just sit in front of a Computer System and just look and observe.
Thanks bro. This is really helpful.. But I'm of the feeling that we would still be trained. Tho I have a certificate in IP based technologies. I could just check online for materials on computer networking to familiarise myself with it
lumide533: Sorry ,those that got success mail, what's is your discipline.so that we can know if it is base on the performance during interview or the field of study.
I think it's based on your performance although field of study should be related too. I have a degree in Pure and Applied Physics and one thing we should note here is they checked relevant work experience.
