I think u're getting it wrong..

NO UNIVERSITY IN THE WORLD HAS EVER PROMISED RICHES/MONEY IN RETURN AFTER GRADUATION...

The university only promised you a sound education..

what u do with it is left to you..

If you know how to use Economics plus Commerce and Physics or chemistry etc.. then u can b rich..

if not then OYO is ur name
Universities have "old students" that own companies that can give jobs to 1st class holders and look out for smart students. This is one of the ways university students gets jobs in Europe and U.S
EducationRe: I Regret Going To The University by codemaniacs:
Biggie225:
The education system, that is supposed to teach young people fundamental facts and skills in order to allow them to deal properly with reality, is unfortunately also heavily used to indoctrinate the young to be passive, to not question authority, and to trust the government and their experts on TV without question.

The education system is often used as a filter to weed out the free-thinkers, rebels, “unconventionals” and promote the passive, conventional and compliant ones to the next level.

Students are compelled to believe everything the teacher says, without verification. The words of the education system became the guiding truth for youngsters. Usually, schools have unwritten rules regarding specific subjects that cannot be discussed. Some topics are illogically labeled as vulgar or foolish, and those who have interest in those subjects are often publicly ridiculed.

They condition student to believe that failure to submit to the system will have serious consequences. No employment, poverty, and no future.

Also, the quality of education that is available to the lower social classes is reduced most of the time, which contributes to a gradual increase in the gap that exists between lower classes and the elite.

Like Most popular and wealthy figures such as Zukerberg, Jark Dorsey, Bezos, C Ronaldo, Messi, Micheal Jordan, Michael Jackson, and Maradona etc. Non of these figures can boast of university degree but they had the courage to pursue their path to greatness with their natural instinct. Today all are legends in their own path.
Education is overrated

Ever since realize that life has no central formular or rules. I created the life I want and with apologies.

Bleep the world and Discover yourself.
not having a university degree does not mean a person is not skilled or does not have an education in other fields...

Zukerberg, Jark Dorsey were programming from a young age and attended university but dropped out... the important word here is they were in a university receiving lectures for more than 1.5 years

Bezos graduated from Princeton University in 1986. He holds a degree in electrical engineering and computer science... also a programmer from a young age.

C Ronaldo, Messi, Micheal Jordan, Michael Jackson, and Maradona all attended sports academies in their young age.. going to sports academy means getting sports education, sports degrees and qualifications... so this means they attended sports school and have education about sports and the sport they work in...

you cannot be a professional sports person without attending a sports academy... even if a person learns on the street when that person finally get a professional sport club he/she will first be taken to the youth team to learn the basics... same with programming...

CelebritiesRe: The Misguided Hate On Nigerian Rich Kids - Opinion by codemaniacs: 4:37pm On Dec 30, 2020
Omihanifa:
The hate and jealousy is simply because of the high poverty rate in the country grin coupled with the fact that most of these rich kids parent are part of the people that destroyed the country.

They are part of the people that contributed to the rot in the system

So Nigerians are automatically transferring that hate to their children.

How do you expect people not to hate somebody like kiddwaya that was busy bragging on bbnaija that he spent 3.1 million naira to charter a private jet that took him to Lagos for the show.

In a country where people are dying of hunger and there's extreme poverty undecided you sef think am.

And for somebody like Davido, his own hatred is even self inflicted ( I feel he talks and displays to much information on social media)

Only a Davido will buy a car and be videoing how they are offloading the car inside his compound and still tell you that he paid 120million for it.

In other for these hatred to reduce some of these Rick kids should learn how to be conservative, it not everything they should be saying on social media. this is Nigeria where hunger and poverty is endemic and a lot of people live for the day
AlphaAlex:
If we all want to be truthful the so called rich kids with wealthy parents know their parents have a hand in Nigeria’s poor state one way or another, nothing happens by mistake if they hate them it’s cause nature is passing the resentment that should have gone to their parents to them.

Another Thing No Rich person in this country of ours got rich without some form of Compromise prove me wrong I’ll wait.
ednut1:
Sins of the fathers things. None of them made money cleanly
Jirehz:
It is not just Nigeria but the world today!
People hate to see you better than they are.
Their was talk about few years ago that Drake shouldn’t rap about the streets because he’s not really from the streets. But he’s been winning awards and bigger than most people who claim to come from the streets!

I even believe the Nigerian situation is better.
Most of the kids from wealthy families have one time or the other involved in governance and have stolen huge amounts of money.
Have you seen anyone call out Innoson’s children? Or kids whose fathers we all know their sources of income?

Davido- Adeleke family
Dj Cuppy- Otedola family
Etc
These families stole our money and built up all the wealth you are talking about from our collective wealth and subjected our people to poverty.

I’m not trying to make a case for HATE, but cut our people some slack abeg

You can call me a hater.
I just like to see things from another point of view!
djon78:
Exactly
Most times this rich kids are just arrogant

Although Davido OBO is somewhat different
But many rich kids most especially those we know the history of there father's wealth by hanging around government in power are target practice

But those rich kids we know there parents worked for there money through legitimate hustles are respected
Angelfrost:
The issue is beyond wealth (monetary wealth)...

People in this class or group are largely the miserable and low self esteem individuals... Cos there are non wealthy people who are happy, and wish rich people nothing but goodwill.

These same people will likely still be bitter even if they happened upon wealth or increase... Bitterness is a disease; a terrible character flaw entrenched in ignorance.

Ignorance in the sense that being bitter at people who have no direct or even indirect hand in impoverishing or making them miserable is beyond stupidity!!!

I can understand hating on children or descendants of corrupt and greedy politicians (won't bother with examples), but people should be smart enough to differentiate between the legit rich and crooked ones; and also realize that rich kids (even from corrupt parents) shouldn't be made to carry their parents' crosses.

In all, it is largely the worsening state of the nation's economy... Things are getting worse. People who were financially comfortable have now become poor. It is quite a lot to ask that they don't hate on the few wealthy among them.
ZaOzaRoom:
I love Davido's music but I think most Nigerians feel the rich people of today made their money stealing from the country's treasury which resulted to today's suffering.
I once read somewhere that Kiddwaya's father was IBB's boy.
So, they could think Davido, cuppy etc fathers stole from the country's treasury hence the hate.
princemartinsG:
The reason for this being that there is no single rich man in Nigeria whose wealth is completely clean.

They have either cornered our commonwealth or into business alignment as front for crooked capitalists or are fronts for corrupt government people enjoying undue monopoly

As long as this is the case, their children can never have the rest of mind worthy for clean wealthy people
acesboy:
.
jaxxy:
Depends on how their parents became rich, was it at the expense of others or sold business.

Also how responsible the kids themselves act.
PHijo:
The thing is most rich people in Nigeria are parasites. Their wealth can be directly linked to patronage and cronyism.

I don't think most people would have a problem with people who created wealth through their entrepreneurial adventures and not the misfortune of the masses.
twilliamx:
In as much as I wholeheartedly agree with your beautiful write up let's not forget that the children of the oppressors of this country also fall within group called rich even though their parents are not known to have neither a functional business nor did they invent something that propelled them to amass wealth, but they got rich at detriment of their constituents whom they have have kept impoverished due to their insatiable greed, as far as I am concerned anyone whose parent falls within the category of a political oppressor should be hated.
In the past once you are thief and you caught, everything that has to do with you will be named and shamed including your kids, this in turn will deter other from committing such crime.
If your parent are hard working people, you deserve no hate but if your parent are known looters of the common wealth of the people, people that deprive their constituents of hospital, schools and social amenities then you should enjoy and partake from the hatred that befalls them.
I love Davido and Burna.. they should resolve their issues amicably.
one thing all of you notice is that some people's wealth is connected to politics...

one thing all of you failed to acknowledge is that politics, wealth, business and standard of living are all connected....

the richest people anywhere in the world are those that control a percentage of their ( ethnic nation) politics.

in Nigeria, the richest people are from the three major ethnic nations ( Hausa, Igbo, Yorubas ) because those three ethnic nations control highest percentage of politics in Nigeria..

although the Hausas are not that rich because another ethnic nation ( f:ulani ) invaded them and disguise as them and this makes the f:ulani control the politics of the hausas which also means they control the wealth business and standard of living of the hausas..

Nigerians in the south are somewhat lucky, while the major ethnic nations have multiple states to themselves, some other minor ethnic nations also have a single state to themselves or they share the state with other minor ethnic nations this helps the minor ethnic nations control their politics which means they control their own wealth business and standard of living....

in summary,
people in business must work with people in politics so that favorable policies can be passed to protect their businesses.... otherwise, another country can easily influence the people in politics in your own country destroy your businesses with the support of your people in politics..

There is no point having a discussion with someone such as yourself. You know what you know and believe everyone else's view is irrelevant.
only the view of doing things for the benefits of the indigenes is acceptable... and you're right I actually support Trump because he was doing things for the benefit of U.S.A citizens only and not trying to wage war with other countries..

On the contrary, I believe Awolowo could have chosen to stay neutral. Neutral means Neutral not meeting with Ojukwu one day advising him not to go to war despite his people being slaughtered like flies and taking up a cabinet position within Gowon's government the next day.

Look sir, Igbo leaders were anti-yoruba, Yoruba leaders were anti-igbo and Hausa-Fulani leaders were anti-everyone else. We were all anti-each other, our leaders knew this pre-independence yet somehow they sought to force us to live together for their own selfish ends.

I am a Yoruba nationalist and I honestly believe if the Yorubas were allowed to be as a separate entity, we would be further along and much better off than we are within this geographical entity called Nigeria. As much as I understand Awo's rationale, his greatest failing as a leader (and I say this respectfully knowing no one is perfect and we all have our weaknesses) was his change of heart.

Pre-independence, Awo was on record as advocating for a separation of the Oduduwa Republic. To have states built around ethnic groups and so forth. He did not believe in the Federalist structure. That is the Awo I love, not this Awo that left Calabar prisons and started supporting One Nigeria. He knew there was never One Nigeria to begin with but his political ambitions drove him in that direction and the rest is history as we know it.

Hausa-Fulani have no business with the Yorubas, the Yorubas have no business with the Igbos and the Igbos have no business with the Ijaws. We were never ever fully allowed to determine who or what we wanted to be, at every turn we have had the quest for our independence truncated by evil men in high places and the result is this One Nigeria Frankenstein monster we now see. Until we go our separate ways, these problems will continue to persist. I thank Buhari for reminding us of what we really are.
you are definitely not a yoruba person...

Awolowo could have never remained neutral, zik was contesting for premier of the western region and if zik was successful it means zik would have replaced all Yorubas in important positions in western region controlled institutions with igbos...

you say "Look sir, Igbo leaders were anti-yoruba, Yoruba leaders were anti-igbo and Hausa-Fulani leaders were anti-everyone else" but it was only the igbos who were challenging indigenes in other regions by contesting for government positions in other regions..

Awolowo never had a change of heart and never made any agreement with the igbos ( only igbos believe such fake news/history ).. awolowo was in prison.

it was the igbos that created the mid-west region in order to weaken the Yoruba region which the mid-west was part of...

stop claiming to be yoruba because no yoruba person will still say "On the contrary, I believe Awolowo could have chosen to stay neutral. " after been told that millions of Yorubas will have been killed and their jobs taken away from them..

kayjay69:
Obasanjo further said he rejected a request by two senior Yoruba retired soldiers to lead the Western Region out of Nigeria, which would be similar to what the late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu tried to do for the South-East and failed.

My people, the Yorubas, have had a spineless, indecisive, naive and clearly selfish leadership from time immemorial, in the excerpts above General Obasanjo pretty much confirms this. However, Obasanjo is right about one thing, Yoruba leaders are not genuine in their support for restructuring. Infact, I can say Yoruba leaders have never been genuine in their support for restructuring. I am more than certain the day Yorubas stop looking up to their leaders and start asking the right questions is the day Nigeria begins to be a better place.

In my view, Awolowo had one opportunity to save us from this mess if he sided or atleast was neutral during the Civil war.
there is no way Awolowo would have "sided or atleast was neutral during the Civil war" because the zik and other igbo leaders were very anti Yoruba, when the igbos controlled the central govt they removed indigenes from federal positions in federal institutions in those states and replaced them with igbos and this led to the video released by a northern leader saying he would prefer to hire a foreigner and than hire an igbo person even Akintola released an audio on radio that igbos were taken positions that should go to the Yorubas in the Yoruba region...

if the igbos want to be pro-igbo they can be in their own region...

if the civil war was successful, it means
1. the attack on Ore by the Igbos led by a Yoruba person will have been successful which means millions of Yorubas would have been killed as Igbos attacks progress through states in the western region.

2. the whole Nigeria would have been under Igbo domination and it would have led to more civil wars because igbos will have to attack and conquer each region which means killing millions of non-igbo people and replacing their leaders with igbos...

3. it would have led to massive hatred for igbos by people from other regions...
e.t.c..
