if Africans were already enslaved and if what you're saying is correct then why will they bring slaves from U.S, caribbeans e.t.c to Africa as "returned slaves" in other for them to do slave work in Africa

let me answer that for you, its because majority of west Africans were not working as slaves for the e:uropeans... so the e:uropeans brought people from the American continent whom they had enslaved to Africa.

I am not trying to change history, you're the one that believes Africans are too dull that they could never have reached the American continent on their own...

I hope you know all the continents except Australia are connected by land and even Australia has indigenous black people.

Jln115 ur dead as a liar slave trade started in the 15th century with foreign European countries kidnapping black people, then they moved onto educating them and making them think that the whites were superior so they would pick up arms against their own people, they would then lead their own people onto these ships and then the cycle continued until they were able to convince even kings to give up their own people all though the major empires never gave into this.

Slavery started in northern Africa after the fall of Egypt around the 10th century, the entire northern and north eastern Africa fell into slavery and e:uropeans and the euro-arabs enslaved northern Africans and taught them i:slam.

it was after they enslaved northern Africans then 800 years later ( late 1700s, early 1800s or 18 century ) they used the descendants of those northern Africans who were now m:uslims to attack the southwards and that's when conflict started happening across Africa...

Lagos was a slave trad export in the early 1600s and late 1800s the British used to buy slaves from there before it became a war camp the British went there to collect slaves from the chiefs, there was money in these days and it ranged from cowries, manillas, iron sheathes and leather strings. Don’t come with that there was no money nonsense poverty wasn’t really a concept I agree with thst but there was money and the British would give these poor chiefs lots of cowries and weapons to collect more slaves

Technically this slave trade your talking about only happen in the south west of Nigeria and if I’m honest from the start as a west African man I have been focusing on west Africa becuase that’s where my knowledge is anyway, it was mainly only happening in Lagos, Lagos was just a newly discovered area with just a few poor chiefs and they wanted more money and influence which is what the British promised them, so they started to kidnap traders and soldiers who were from neighbouring areas just to get some money which was a massive problem but in the larger kingdoms of ile ife, Oyo and Benin they were not as involved as the British were not even close. Also Calabar slave trade post they paid Nigerians to go and fetch slaves the same thing thst happened in kagos happened here poor people looking for money and influence.

Lagos used to be called Oko ( which means farm in yoruba )... it was not and has never been a "newly discovered area", it was a heavily guarded farm settlement, it was so heavily guarded that when the binis came to buy food and other products from there the binis called Eko ( which means war camp in bini )..

slave trade did not happen anywhere in Africa, there were no poor people in Africa and there was also no form of "money" as a means of trading...

Africa is where the natural resources are the british would have needed Africans to extract the natural resources for them so why will the british sell " able bodied slaves " to another continent when the resources they need are in Africa

Nigeria only signed a peace agreement with the british in the early 1900s and that's when the fighting against the british reduced and stopped...

I think the difference is the scale and the weapons. Before european arrival in Africa - most conflict were low intensity - with primitive tools- there was no industrial scale - with guns and bombs - so generally the death toll was low - and massacre - leave genocide was not common. The industrial ability of western power gave them the ability to commit massacres at a shocking scale. Armed with a machine gun - and with very low population of that time - you could literally exterminate a whole gene pool.

Before the arrival of e:uropeans there was no conflict or war in any part of Africa.

If Africans were fighting themselves Africans would have had weapons to defend themselves and would have been battle ready at all times.

now imagine the private sector where any wealthy individual can hire who they want...

any wealthy private business person from an ethnicity moves into a state with huge population will hire and bring people from mainly his/her ethnicity and religion...

that's one of the reasons you go to some private companies and you see one ethinicity been dominant.. its because they are the same ethnicity as the owner of the company..

e.g. Lagos is a state in the Yoruba region but it has many non-yorubas, some of this non-yorubas own companies and they hire maybe one or two yorubas but the majority of the company employees are the same ethnicity as the owner and this indirectly increases the poverty the yorubas will experience and since everyone is a Nigerian the Yorubas cannot complain....

Yoruba owned companies will mostly hire yorubas, fulani owned companies will mostly hire fulani e.t.c

when you say Nigeria government you mean the federal government of Nigeria... why should a government that is filled with people of a different ethnicity than the people you're trying to publicize help the people you're trying to publicize

the first thing you should have done is name the state its located in and the L.G.A... then call on the state government and local government to "improve local makers to enhance their productions"....

stop downplaying the role of ethnicity in empowerment....
