gidgiddy: The war is not winnable for Russia either Exactly, even if Putin manages to secure the territories he is eyeing, the coffee has been smelled clearly by minority russian ethnic groups. They are there to die for a greater Rus empire. The distrust also. Everyone knows Putin or another 'Putin' can rise and decide to mobilize Russia to free oppressed Rus in Europe. Germany did too under Hitler and most likely would have continued if Hitler was eliminated as long as the Nazis where in power. |

DaFuhrer: In the coming days, Russia is set to declare victory over Ukraine and NATO. This is coming on heels of what everyone knew since the last months of 2024, but no one had the courage to say it until Trump said it. Despite over $350billion in hardware and intelligence military assistance, Ukraine on their own could not defeat Russia or drive Russian forces out of Ukraine. Additionally, new data maps now show the real reason NATO and Putin wanted Ukraine in their corner – $11 trillion worth of rare earth minerals, as well as oil and gas reserves lies hidden underneath Ukrainian soil, and Russia had mainly captured and is controlling all territories surrounding this wealth. This is the main reason trump is negotiating directly with Russia, and this is why Putin was okay with capturing “just 20+%” of Ukraine, because it was the most valuable 20%. It is just like capturing all the oil-producing areas in Nigeria if you are a foreign power, because of what use will capturing Kebbi or Taraba states be to you if you can hold the oil producing areas and strangle Nigeria economically?
On X, Europeans having not seen this coming, are blaming Trump for not continuing to support Ukraine via an all-out war against Russia, which is stupid because no sensible person wants to imagine a war between Great Powers like the US and Russia that might then involve the use of nuclear weapons.
So, the question is, why didn’t Europe (especially Germany, France, Britain and Italy) see that the war was unwinnable, especially when US funding started drying up under President Biden?
My guess is that Europe believed the lies spread by Western media, possibly sponsored by big defence companies and contractors who wanted misinformation and propaganda to shape public perception and force US and European governments to continue spending on this unwinnable war in Ukraine. After all, war is another form of Commerce. These misinformation and propagandas includes;
1. Inflated Casualty Figures: In December 2024, U.S. Secretary of Defense, Lloyd J. Austin III, reported that Russia had suffered at least 700,000 military casualties—both killed and wounded—since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. He highlighted that in November 2024 alone, Russia lost nearly 1,500 troops per day.
Western media ran with this lie, and nobody was rational enough to question it. Before the invasion, Russia had a standing army of 900,000 active military personnel. Yet, Austin made Europe believe that the end was near for Putin as Russia had allegedly lost around 80% of its military force. The real figures of actual Russian losses as we have now learnt, are less than 10% of the above figure compared to the 300,000 dead Ukrainian soldiers. Silly Europeans ran with this lie, jubilating that they would soon swoop into Ukraine and tap the mineral wealth, not knowing that Austin was playing a fast one on them. The defence contractors better give Austin his money, he earned it. LOL.
2. Fabricated War Stories One of the most well-documented cases of misinformation was the "Ghost of Kyiv" – a supposed Ukrainian fighter pilot who was single-handedly shooting down multiple Russian aircrafts. This legend was widely shared by Ukrainian officials and Western media; to buttress the bravery of Ukrainians and prove that Russian soldiers and pilots were inept and untrained and dying by thousands. Well, this has now been debunked as a myth, and the entire Ukrainian Airforce is gone, wiped out by Russia forces. The Ukrainian government eventually admitted the story was propaganda meant to boost morale. But before then, it spurred more support for Ukraine via military assistance, and European leaders and people truly believed Ukraine to be winning.
Another widely circulated claim was the Snake Island incident, where Ukrainian border guards were reported to have defiantly told a Russian warship to "go Bleep yourself" before being killed. It was later revealed that the soldiers had surrendered and were taken prisoner, contradicting the original reports.
3. Staged or Misleading Media Coverage There have been instances where images or videos from other conflicts were misrepresented as evidence of thousands of Russian soldiers captured in Ukraine. Some footage from Syria and even video games were deliberately circulated to evoke a false sense of victory, and Europe swallowed the scam whole. In the end, many of these false or exaggerated claims that went unchallenged in mainstream media, deceived Europe, and any dissenting voices or scepticism about narratives were often been dismissed as Russian propaganda.
In conclusion, thousands of Ukrainians have died, Ukraine has lost thousands of brave fathers, brothers, uncles, sons. They have lost more land and access to their untapped mineral resources. On the other hand, Europe having spent so much in aid to Ukraine, thinking they will get it back once Putin is defeated, will now have budget deficits to fill (expect tax increases if you are an immigrant in Europe), as Putin will only deal with America and Trump is not in the mood to share the mineral wealth.
https://x.com/Wizarab10/status/1893324096475222092?t=KEcTdmS-mKAtSRbGIvFLdQ&s=19[/quote]...and i guess only hundreds of russians have died right? |

immortalcrown: Interesting! Nothing interesting there as it is. Trump is looking for cheap ways to make America great again and finance was one of those ways. He sacrificed a weak and corrupt Ukraine for an insatiable Putin because he has seen America is the world police in the face of China, ME and Russian aggression. The corrupt cop simply sacrifice the weak victim. In doing that, smaller nations who trade in dollar as intl currency will see the abandonment pattern of Trump and want to align elsewhere when it comes to commerce. Thats bad news for USA and good news for China and Russia. |

This is not a russian war but a Putin war. Before the war, he said the Rus ethnic group were being persecuted outside Russia. He has succeded in increasing whatever the old feeling towards Rus were while marginally increasing his territory - his real motivation for invading with tanks and nukes. |

nairalanda1: 1. If regions had remained they would have been in economic trouble in the 1970s.
The UK was our main buyer of all things. By the 1970s they were in serious economic trouble. Countries like Ghana whose main source of income was cocoa were suffering badly.
Nigeria survived because we had oil and because the abolition of regions meant that government could distribute all oil profits across the country, not just remaining in one region.
Had we had regions, the sw would have lost money from cocoa well well . Infact Ghana had to take severe cost cutting measures for over a decade if not longer to survive.
2. Most people in the regions were poor and broke. I am not lying. Yes they built nice buildings which were restricted to the capital and a few cities ,but most people lived in poverty and without anemities. That's why there was massive agitation for more regions and or more states. The idea being that there would be increased development.
Ilorin was a small village in the 1960s. Ilorin as a state capital is a developed city and has all sorts of anemities today. It's not perfect thoigh, but it's an example is their hands missing that they will be in economic turmoil? You talk around BS. |
