Politics › Re: Tinubu's 1 Year Of Mismatch Between Performance & Realities - Premium Times by CodeTemplar: 7:27am On May 28, 2024
He is politician with strong personal interest and not a leader capable of delivering governance we so need. All his focus is 2027 and he is using state resources to do just that. 90 billion shared out to hajj stoners alone at half a million naira each can help 180,000 small businesses replace their gen sets with renewable alternatives. This will reduce petrol use and import, reduce recurrent subsidy correspondingly, free up power for bigger industries to enjoy the grid power among others, but ...

Politics › Re: N15 Trillion For Lagos-calabar Highway Can Generate 9,400 MW by CodeTemplar: 1:35am On May 28, 2024
The coastal highway will only succeed in winning Tinubu few SS supporters. The main thing is looting margin that can stretch into 30 years of repayment. We lack power but alternative road that can be improved
Travel › Re: FG Suspends Nigeria Air Project Indefinitely by CodeTemplar: 1:28am On May 28, 2024
Bigkenny:
The Nigerian government should hand off investing in all these elephant projects, but rather they should encourage private individuals to invest in the aviation industry. The UK or American government doesn't operate any airline business, rather they allow private citizens to handle that.
how capable are the private individuals?
Look at power, they know nothing other than profit profit and more profit.

Noted.

Person wey dey purge no sabi evil forest, all na bush.

Make university education free or affordable in public schools. This is better than the loan.
that's closer to the current unsustainable arrangement.

You give them so much for free, employ them, only to become corrupt and ineffective as well as unproductive. Who pays them continually? Where does the money keep coming from?
You mean the govt should tax a village man who farms with his hands and be paying an idle agriculture studies graduate doesn't farm at all and who is on a state payroll?
Education › Re: Students Loan Ploy To Enslave Nigerian Students – ASUU by CodeTemplar: 1:19am On May 28, 2024
Philipponzaghi:
Education should not be a burden, but a right. Lets prioritize investing in our institutions and educators instead of imposing loans on students.
a right that is so expensive will become so ineffective because lowering quality cause by high demand and stagnant funding. Imagine feeding 10 pupils with N5000, then having to feed 20 of them with same amount after sometimes.
Education › Re: Students Loan Ploy To Enslave Nigerian Students – ASUU by CodeTemplar: 1:16am On May 28, 2024
If I get their points, they want the loans to be used as allocation to schools who will then be trusted to deliver subsidized education, feeding, books, and allocation?
That has been happening for decades but appears to be failing woefully as the schools end up as mini Nigeria in terms of corruption. They don't want anything that can lead to accountability on their part. They want freedom to keep doing and undoing. Freedom to fail whoever's they perceive as weak and helpless. Freedom to collect allocations in billions and start claiming autonomy and immunity from their own employers, the government.

I don't blame them. The govt should go ahead and float the student loan scheme.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Why Is It That All This So Called Make Money Or Earn Money Online Are Not Real. by CodeTemplar: 3:51pm On May 27, 2024
Few Nigerians exist who can share a productive secret.
They just want to colonize you and eat from you. The global labour market is competitive and not for people who are used to get rich quick or going to office to move files in exchange for N50k a month.

After getting power by all means, they direct the masses to be looking at the ministers. Which minister removed subsidy abruptly? Which of them float naira then started defending it with borrowed forex?
Politics › Re: Nigeria To Update Economic Outlook As NBS Begins Rebasing GDP, Consumer Prices by CodeTemplar: 2:36pm On May 25, 2024
Farming season is around and people can't feed not to talk about buying expensive farm inputs. They have no plans to confront real issues. Just one political stunt after another until they repeat 2023 in 2027. Very wicked set of people.
It doesn't make sense to wish this country well uunder these sort of people. Even Buhari wasn't this disconnected from the people. His problem was mainly that complex of a military man vs civilian. A northern man vs those southerners, a Muslim versus those bloody 'infidels'.
At least he loved his fulani brethren, the only thing this one loves is whoever's aids his political ambition to enrich himself while doing complete eight years.

That's wrong. Recurrent part of power is the bill. The fixed part is what can be crashed because it comes rarely and is needed to get recurrent patronage. These people specialize in employing courtroom attitude to bamboozle the simple among us. That what happens when charge and bail lawyers litter the corridor of power.
Politics › Re: Are Agberos A Necessary Evil In Nigeria? by CodeTemplar: 7:10pm On May 24, 2024
Nyamiriflathed:
Unions are everywhere in the world. Difference is that in developed economies, the union dues are deducted at source by employers. But in Nigeria, they have to use force to get people to pay their dues. We all try to outsmart ourselves in Nigeria grin
in my first comment I mentioned Italian Sicily mafiosos extorting even tomatoes industry. They now own most of that industry and run them with mostly African migrants(let's not say slave). Please research that a little.

It is plain mafia/underworld stuff being masked as a union. What are the core functions of these unions? Are they backed by law? If yes, cant the agberos in govt pretending to be progressives put their activities on Remitta or other platform?

The devil has these kind of units in many nations of the world. Go and research the american crime world and realize even the wall street executives are not immune to the rent seeking madness. All those crime thrillers about Genovesse, the Five families of NY, Gambino, Luciano, Gotti, Lucesse etc you think they are fictional?
They are censored stuff in fact.

Recently one of them was in news. They still operate and as Paul rightly submitted, the love of money na the root of all kinds of evils. All kinds indeed.

Then we have the emerging northern bandits who levy producers of essentials likes being dome in industrial Lagos.

Politics › Re: ₦500,000 Minimum Wage: The Labour Union Are Unrealistic With Their Proposal by CodeTemplar: 2:07pm On May 24, 2024
helinues:
Where do the Labour union expect the government to get the funds? To borrow or to increase more tax base which Nigerians are fuming at both?

What should happen to private sector workers, how would they be able to cope in the same economy where the government workers would be earning X300% of their basic salary?

What would happen to Nigeria economy with government paying N500k as salary? Inflation of course.

Labour union are only after salary increase but not after fishing out the ghost workers and those with shady certificates who consume chunk of the salaries paid by government
Ogogoro posts by APC agents always make front page.
@lastParagraph, who employed the ghost workers. Because of politics the govt can't fire underperforming employees nor ghost employees so what are you convulsing like a demented goat for?
Same reason Ganduje cant be retired is why fake employees must be accommodated. They are potential opposition if not carried long in the cake sharing .
Politics › Re: Nigeria’s Crude Oil Is Blessing, Leaders Are Curse: Emir Sanusi by CodeTemplar: 1:57pm On May 24, 2024
Ttipsy:
I bet if sanusi decides to contest for presidency he will have igbos votes

He’s reasonable and smart
with current structure even if the leaders are good things cannot work.

How can you take oil from region A and send to 5 other regions to be shared and use to develop them?
The people leading those regions used money to get their post or promised the influential people of the society money in exchange for those posts so they have a huge bill to pay. After payment, they must guard against future political loans so steal.
Food › Re: Why Is No Body Talking About Pepper? See Pepper N200 by CodeTemplar: 12:55pm On May 24, 2024
Pray it doesnt get worse.

This year, the low level of disposable income has affected the volume of subsistence farming around. People are just planting what sells highest in the hope of cashing out. That has put melon seed and cassava above other crops. It could lead to glut and price crash, leaving other more important crops lacking.
