What is their productivity like compared to others who earn better wages. Generally speaking an academic is assessed based on teaching, research and service in the workplace.
even police and kidnappers too want pay rise. Isnt that wonderfully great?

Because it is only in Nigeria you will see a professor of mechanical engineering taking his car to a road side mechanic that never went to school for minor repairs.
Stop talking like a Nigerian professor of nothing. Engineering revolves around design and technician role revolves around repairs, maintenance, operation. The fact that a HND carries mechanical engineer as well as BSc doesnt make a professor a technician. It is pathetic to expect a professor to try and decipher the designs of other engineers just to satisfy ignoramuses like yourself

The money used to be more than $300 when converted but lack of productivitymeans their salary is now equivalent of $300. They are part of it too. Always teaching theories thats outdated and obsessing after grades. No emphasis on productivity and final results. No emphasis on improving the input before outputing them into the system. They blame whoever is struggling and select one or two of the excellent ones for first class. Who is crying now. A lot of them in ceeative fields go to their graves with their few skills or product ideas.

Obi was 100% right, there are churches today that go to services every single day. We have them around us and on mountain tops. In the early morning that they suppose to be engaging in productivity, they are busy bombarding heaven with rhetoric of their prayers.
Well, my church LFC doesn't do that but that doesn't say I should use it as yardstick because I am not blind to my environment.
At the height of industrial revolution in USA, they attended church everyday. Go and research that.

NNPCL is not giving him the fuel, he's buying it from NNPCL, it's not for free. NNPCL is not dictating price to Dangote.
They are giving him at a cost thats redeemable by money and loyalty.

Everything about the refinery is shrouded in secrecy, may God help Nigeria.
Really? It is the NNPC that's behind any secrecy.
Is Dangote cement, spaghetti, sugar, flour, or diesel secret? How come only petrol is?
The NNPCL is the one that gives him crude and they have used that to box him into a corner by forcing him to sell all local market petrol from his refinery to them alone. He is only fulfiling the agreement.
As it is, it is NNPCL thats fixing prices for marketers then approving their trucks for pick up of petrol from the refinery.

In bed with NNPCL is OVH. OVH is largely Tinubu empire and they get a cut for so many of the litres headed for the nigerian market. If they can force cost down and still have a cut per litre, when the marketers buy through them from Dangote, then they satisfy local market, smuggling out into west African market becomes inevitable and that means more earning for whoever is getting a cut per litre of petrol going through the Nigerian market.

The first step in resolving the petrol supply chain cartel curse, is electing leaders with no bias towards the petrol cartel.

How is the VAT generated now? It seems you know nothing about tax matters but you want to comment. All VAT generated from all the 774 local governments are always remitted through the headquarters of any company. Now most of the headquarters are located in Lagos alone. So in essence all taxes are from Lagos irrespective of transaction location.
Check your bank account tax remittance it is never from the branch you are operating it is always from The headquarters of your bank. So in essence the consumption/service is only Lagos.
If the government can break every company/ service sector into individual states the issue will not even arise. But realistically it is virtually impossible to do VAT remittance state by state as the resources the company will need will be very huge.
Many people only remember alcohol vice in their thinking. But funny enough the northern leaders are clamouring for the same thing let the remittance be at the location of the transaction or services. So alcohol will not be part of their revenue as they don't have any transaction on that so nil vat
Why arent the other states attracting head offices? That's the big deal here. They dont want to create the environment but want the fruits. I support a law to force VAT remission on a state by state basis for company covering many states with their services but there must be a reqard for whoever brings about the most conducive business atmosphere. Production or industry is not a child's play.

What does that tax bill have to do with this price of Akara, Potatoes, Buns and Yam? All the tax that has been imposed in tha passed, what have they achieved with it?
Everything. VAT sharing irrespective of contribution promotes idleness and low production which in turn drives prices up. So enjoy your Kosai, buns, yam & potato like that.

No it's not cheap. This is extremely expensive in the North.
Nlfpmod
Since we prioritize sharing of resources over production of essentials and the leaders are always taking lion's share of what is shared, we have to see some tough times. Production of what improves living standard is low and dwindling against growing needs.

The northern governor just rejected a tax reform bill that rewards states for progress made in VAT generation. In Principle, they are saying any state spending money to create a conducive environment for industrial scale value-adding activity or business is wasting her time to a large extent.
So therefore eat your Kosai, Buns, Yam and Potato like that.
Besides this pricing is like that of southern states some 18-24 months ago.

It will drive production cost up but also free up some energy for producers. It is positive and negative

Is Dangotes price meant to be hidden in a fully de regulated market as we were made to understand that the sector has been fully deregulated and no more subsidies?..
Yes. That's because he is a private individual and has right to make a deal with whoever he likes to make one with. Let FG activate one of their refinery to pro e Dangote wrong about his pricing.

Again fuel imported into Nigeria comes from two sources

1.substandard European refineries , mainly in the Netherlands and Belgium who refine poor quality cheap fuel and sell it to Nigeria and other African countries.

2. Malta where cheap sanctions busting Russian crude which costs less than 60 dollars a barrel is being refined into fuel

Landing cost of the imported fuel as at October 1 was 950. Dangote is offering ipman local fuel at 1028 max. Meanwhile NNPC is getting fuel from dangote at 898 per liter and it also plans to sell to ipman at 1000 or more.

Ipman decides it's time to keep on importong
From your ranting, NNPCL is just sitting there and inflating prices as a middleman. Before that, they pretended they were subsidizing it for Nigerians out of pity but suddenly tthey are inflating it for Nigerians. It only confirns what average Nigerian already knows. That NNPCL is the Cabal and a Cabal member os now in Aso Rock.

The only way for IPMAN to stay competitive is to keep selling imported fuel , which landing cost is N950 as at October 1.

PoliticsRe: Electricity Consumers Demand Disconnection Over Rising Tariffs by CodeTemplarr: 6:07am On Nov 02, 2024
Great news in some ways. Before we were subsidising consumption and idleness.
People could afford to buy two litres to watch BBNAIJA and Telemundo series. Now it is strictly on a need basis. This will allow the use of power for more of production.
