openmine: Oga they do not have weapons to face RPG armed herdsmen or sophisticatedly armed bandits! Lets even assume without conceding that the ameotekun operatives were given 'shotguns' and 'knives' to engage bandits that use an RPG or highly devastating weapon of warfare...does that make any sense to you? Thats like a pussy cat trying to engage a lion! Connect or engage your disconnected brain Mr 'Cognitivereason' as your moniker suggests! Haba
So Oga 'Vitamin A plus Okpolo eyes' are you saying knives and cutlass with a locally made shotgun are 'weapons' that should be used to engage highly superior ak47 and rocket propelled launchers wielding bandits and terrorists? Now you are not only blind, your cerebrum is right now on a cliff! So in your own thinking, you feel knives will be sufficient to ward off bandits? I thought its because your were benighted....Now i know you had issues with your communications lecturers or you skipped english school!
You are a glorified Olodo with zero information! So shotguns are good enough to ward off terrorists that wield RPG and Ak47? If shotguns according to you was good enough why do you think the governor was unhappy with FG giving permission to katsina security outfit to use AK47? Did you not reason that its due to the obvious limitations of the shotgun that made him feel it would be better to engage and match the terrorists with better weapons like APCs,AK47 and RPG or their likes?
Once again lets assume without conceding that amoetekun was given the licence to use shotguns according to you....the governor you are lamblasting told the press that he had setup his own security outfit but the FG have refused to allow them use a single weapon....Not even a shotgun! So far no FG or aide have spoken anything contrary to what Ortom has said! So what should they use in engaging the bandits and terrorists in the rural communities? Bow and arrow or pen knife with cutlass? I would have said make use of your encephalon but i just remembered that it relapses anytime it tries to be engaged in proper discus!
Chai indeed common sense is not common! Is benue state part of the SW? He granted interviews with Arise morning show,AIT,TVC news and ChannelsTV morning show and he said the same thing about the FG refusing to give his security outfit the license to even have a 'handgun'! Up till this moment, non of the FG or the aides to the presidency has commented on what he said or denied his statements which implies that he is saying the truth!
You are not only an epitome of what you just wrote up there with a huge dose of inan.ity but you are an embodiment of a pat.hetic paloo.ka with an obviously disconnected cere.brum!
Well atleast i know one thing! Not every Benue person thinks and reasons poorly like you because your case despicable! Fortunately, your types are few in Benue state! nonsense.. before you claimed Amotekun carries no weapon...I proved you wrong. now you are arguing if shotguns are enough.. or if they are locally made..nonsense by the way.. show me pictures of herdsmen carrying RPG.. boko haram/ISWAP with their semi fractions operating as bandits are not the herdsmen roaming around the southern bushes plus RPG usage can never be granted for any para military unit not to even talk of state police.. if you want FG to allow state police whatsoever to use RPG to balance weapon arsenals then you will continue to wail.. common Onyabo in Ikorodu carries AK 47.. because Ambode was serious.. Ortom is a Fu*king failure.. you are talking about the FG denying Ortom's claims.. the question is who takes Ortom seriously let Ortom arm those weaklings he formed as security with locally made piston.. if he did I will not be arguing with you |

The school fees, and most of the fees paid by students, where are they going to? What is happening to our tertiary institution today is what you get when you vote in a semi literate president who's not even sure of if he's a WAEC certificate; His disdain for learning is extremely high. so government should reject the universitu and let it short down?.. if they do so.. you will come here and still blame the FG for rejecting it when fully literate President as you claim were in power ..did ASUU not go on strike? how much are students paying for fees..is that money..do you have any idea of what a university is or you think it is the local secondary school you attended? if private universities collect 1m minimum to run a university.. WTF do you think the 50k students pay in Fed universities will do.. if that money was enough to even cater for cleaners or security workers alone in a week not to talk of full employed academic staff.. why are lecturers not paid from the accounts the school fees enter rather than IPPIS? what is happening to our institution today is what you get when government tag school fees that shouldn't be less than 500k to be 50k..then the subsidies the government is suppose to pay becomes a heavy burden on their neck.. |

openmine: Hahaha amotekun is armed and yet the governor of ondo state is angry that katsina state security outfit was permitted by FG to use arms but not amotekun? The news is all over the internet about akeredolu accusing FG of playing double standard....some of you don't even read the news but come here and display your ignorance!
State policing gives the state government not only the power or authority of recommendation but appointment and also firing of any state commissioner that refuses to perform its primary duties! State policing ensures that the indigenous people of the state that are fully aware of the terrain are recruited to solve the insecurity problems in their state and LGAs because insecurity is local and must be solved by the locals who are well aware of their domain! State and community policing also ensures that the police commissioner of the state and LGA act quickly to a conflict or crisis to ensure it doesn't snowball into a full blown war but the present system o policing will make the police commissioner to wait until there is a war before the IGP from abuja authorises the commissioner to act! State and community policing will ensure adequate funding for their security system with logistics, acquisition of the right weapons and setting up of an intelligence unit to curb insecurity!
Another classic own goal! You are contradicting yourself! You just asked me why I think we need state and LGA/community policing and here you are admitting we need one! Smh
First go and read the constitution on policing! This will give u a broader perspective as to why governors are not responsible for insecurity in their own state! Why do you think instead of creating a security outfit in Niger state, the governor ran to the president in abuja to complain about the invasion of terrorists in his domain? The likes of ebubeagu and amotekun are not permitted by law to use guns but to act as an intelligence unit to the present policing system in that state! This is common knowledge This was the reason why governor of ondo akereodolu was disappointed recently that the FG permitted katsina state setup security outfit to have weapons like ak47 and yet amoetekun that was setup earlier were denied permission for acquiring weapons! How can you setup a security outfit and yet deny them the authorisation to acquire quality and capable weapons to fight against an enemy that uses sophisticated weapons like RPG?
The fact that you don't even understand what is going on in your own state as you alluded to is the very reason why you are wallowing in your perpetual ignorance! I heard the same governor of Benue state when he talked about setting up a security outfit like amotekun but he said the outfit was denied by FG to purchase weapons for the security outfit! Do you expect a security outfit mandated to crush a unified terrorist organisation without the required or sophisticated weapons? Not even an APC(armoured personnel carrier) Yet when katsina state own security outfit sort the FG for permission to acquire weapons they were expressly authorised! This is the same thing that akeredolu was talking out recently! Double standard for different states! But I doubt if you know about that...all you know is sit where ever you are like a glorified illi.terate to type trash instead of asking relevant questions that will keep you enlightened! Smh
Same ignorance on display! If you like setup a 100 security outfits in one state,if they are not authorised or empowered to carry sophisticated or superior weapons to engage the terrorists, nothing will happen and the massacre will continue unabated!
Hope you can say the same thing about the Niger state and jigawa state governors whose domain have been ravaged by insecurity! I am not in any way holding brief for the governor but its important to ask some pertinent questions to comprehend their struggle! First the state gets their IGR mainly from agriculture and the rural areas that contribute to this IGR have been thrown out from their farm lands due to bandits, herdsmen and kidnappers and are currently in IDP camps! The only funds available to them is the little FAAC allocation that is mostly used for salary of workers which is not even enough to pay all of them! Are you aware that Benue state has one of the highest wage bill in the country?
Factual you said? Try harder! Unimpressed! Please don't make me laugh so hard at your obvious callowness! Even a buhari supporter though at times can be ignorant is by far better in engaging an issue compared to you! Once again make sure your cerebrum is not disconnected from your fingers before typing! No be me pursue you from english class! lol these are amotekun operatives with shotguns visit their offices in akure.. go and find out if it is knives they carry or guns blind BAT read the details of the news that says Akeredolu was angry about kastina's use of AK 47 some of you dunce read the headlines and come and shout without going through the details Akeredolu was angry about approving AK 47 to kastina and leaving the SE and SW with shotguns Ortom did nothing.. let me bring his proof that he sat with higher authorities to seek approval for weapons I remember all SW governors in a meeting with the VP to discuss the establishment of Amotekun you are simply naive and dull... go and justify Ortom's helplessness in front of benue people.. they are in the best positions to reply you..

onuman: In bold. First, I am happy you called me oga, but why did you at the same time query your oga's mental health? Now listen to Economics 101:
if rail service provider A uses 500 liters of diesel to transport 300 available passengers in a train which has a capacity of 600 passengers, because no more passengers were available to fill up the remaining 300 seats; but a similar rail service provider B uses 500 litres of diesel to transport full capacity 600 passengers to equidistant to A, it's obvious that service provider B shall get richer and be self-sustaining more than service provider A. Furthermore, if service provider B's services are usually rushed, and in a day, B runs the distance with full passenger capacity many times, more than Service provider A, it's obvious that service provider B is by far ahead of service provider A. Don't clutch tight on Iberiberism to insult who you referred to as oga. This is the flaw in your economics 101 First of all.. all the trains are filled to capacity. I reiterated the fact that passengers not filling the train isn't the problem otherwise your analysis would have made sense.. the passengers are there. the issue is the cost of running it doesn't match what the passengers are paying if rail service provider A uses 500 litres of diesel at a cost of N1 million to transport full capacity 600 passengers who paid a total N200,000 it means the rail service provider makes a loss of N800,000..i.e 80% loss if the service provider is rushed and is able to run the trip as much as 10 times a day at full capacity..the rail service provide will need 10x 500litres of diesel at a cost of N10 million.. which will transport 10x 600 passengers (6000 passenger total) who will at the end of the day end up paying 10x N200,000 (N2 million). and a loss of N8 million will be made..shikina..which ofcourse is still 80% loss. Oga this is basic quantitative reasoning.. |

ATLIEN2027: I understand where you are coming from but the train system they are building is a basic necessity of modern economy. First, you need train system to transport goods from one section to another. It's cheaper and faster. You need train to transport large amount of people, cheaply and faster than road and air. Just because you are trying to fix road and power does not mean that you can't fix rail system They rail system is not the fast high speed in advance country, this is just the basic ones that every economy that wants to grow needs. It allows you to transport food from the North to the South, it allows you to transport goods from the south to the North. In the US, the old rail system are still being used to transport grains from the mid west to the industrial West and Est coast of America. Train system systems have many advantages and can be done cheaply over the long run. What we have is nothing close to fancy cars, these are old true, tested, cheap, and reliable means of transportation all over the world. That doesn't stop you from developing your power sector or any other sector at the same time. no body said it wasn't basic necessity but the kind of rails they built wasn't needed the standard guage they built has a maximum speed of 150km/hr but the trains run at 60km/hr wouldn't it have made sense to just rehabilitate the narrow guage whose maximum speed is around 80km/hr at a much cheaper cost..the same aim of moving goods and services easier will be met. to worsen it they built a double track rail line (156km each) for $1.5bn and the utilization is less than 20% wouldn't it have been better to build a single track 712km to cover a longer distance at the same cost..that way it will be lagos to let say ilorin..meaning goods will go longer routes and more economic impacts at the same cost.. rail transport is only cheaper if they are built to match our needs and not built as white elephant projects.. we should never had built a double track..and the kind of luxury stations were no needed as well |

The largest business route in Nigeria is Lagos-Benin-Onitsha-PH/Calabar route. High patronage lowers price, and operational costs. That's why those luxury buses that ply the above route have survived more than the luxury buses that ply the SW-North route. no sane person sound in economics will read the jargons you wrote and think you mentally sound who told you high patronage reduces operational cost.. Oga tell me any business that high patronage reduces operational costs.. I clearly stated that patronage isn't the problem. population and the goods to be transported isn't the problem.. the problem is that actual amount that needs to be charged by NRC to effectively run the facility isn't allowed.. overloading the trains will do very little at addressing it all of the things you stated will make sense if the problems were patronage how will building the rails at onitsha reduce the cost of diesel which is around N800 ..diesel prices are primarily the cost of operation |

How much of their profits would the waived taxes would have erased? this is the same practice in every developing nation.. it not necessarily aimed at reducing the price of their products...it is about the companies making more in order to expand and keep up with the cost of doing business here.. for example. Diesel prices are over 400% compared to 2018.. many Nigerian companies run on diesel to produce..but non of them increased the price of their goods by 400% between 2018 and 2022... did the cost of making telephone calls double since 2018 even when what powers all the facilites is diesel.. the loss margin can be offset with tax waivers expansion is also another part. Virtually all of the companies given the waiver are on expansion project which will increase their capacity to produce more and employ more.. So how will get out of poverty if they don't try to develop their infrastructures? We should build much needed and priority infrastructure first .. a $1.5bn double track rail line with ultra modern trains stations are not priority what is priority is fixing power building roads, refineries etc if we spent that same figure to repair port harcourt refinery since.. we will not experience these levels of scarcity of fuel and devaluation of the naira.. priority first.. you don't buy flashy cars when you don't have 10% of the cost of maintaining them |

Lagos-Benin-Onitsha-PH/Calabar standard gauge rail lines if first built, should have yielded excess profits to build, and possibly sustain Lagos-Ibadan-Kano and Abuja-Kaduna standard gauge rail lines; if Nigeria were to be a normal country. Nigeria the country whose ethnic bigot leaderships drive to the edge. NITEL died after modern digital telephone exchanges were built in tiny sleepy towns in Northern Nigeria; while large commercial cities in Eastern Nigeria were left with wrecked analog telecom exchanges. it will still not profit in this current realities.. read to understand .. the problem is not passengers or lack of patronage the issue is the cost of running it is higher if if it cost N1000 to transport 10 passenger who will pay N10 naira each(N100) it means when you double the no. of passengers ..the cost of running the transport service is increases to N2000 and only N200 will be made.. use your head.. this is why NRC is reducing the number of trips to reduce losses it doesn't matter if the rail is in Onitsha or sambisa forest..it will still make losses |

we are truly not ripe for the kind of stations they built.. especially now that it is under utilized..

After independence we could afford it now we cannot and the students need to contribute because our population has grown so it is a reality based issue Rich countries fund their universities with a lot more that the total budget of Nigeria the models are different and students also contribute . often the funding goes toward research but there are many countries with free tuition and some offer grants or low interest loans to students. Now the US is considering forgiving billions in loans There is no easy solution and glib declarations don't help. Ultimately students in Nigeria will have to put their hands in their pockets and poor students will be excluded to some extent. Bitter Pill Our solution does not have to match anyone's the logic of your statement is like saying A woman should not pay bills in a household because xyz happens in another household.Totally illogical. We need our own unique solution based on our realities mehn... you are a rear kind.. one of the few logical ones on this platform aside backbencher / subsidywise truth is Nigerians want this country to be like other advanced ones without studying the processes behind it and most importantly following it up.. we want steady light but we don't want to pay for the cost we want to produce our own fuel but you still don't want to buy it at the actual worth(without subsidies) you want govt to end subsidy but you still want the price of petrol to remain the same.. you want govt institutions to perform like the foreign ones but you don't want govt to increase the fee to the rate at which the foreign ones charge.. I can go on and on |

vanunu: The federal government has no business financing tertiary education, in other countries it is the state government and the private sectors that finance education. Nigerian government seems to be the most foolish government in the whole world, with no idea of how to end perennial ASUU strike that have been going for almost thirty years. They are not entirely foolish in a way because they know the consequences of doing such the average fed. uni school fee for a year is between 30k and 80k max please tell me how you want the private sector to take over and allow the fee to remain the same..last time I checked the institutions under private sector have their fees no less than 500k.or 1M average.. will you support the government if they move institutions to be under the private sector or even states or how many state government do you think can handle a fed. uni with such fee.. the federal govt isnt confused...as long as we continue to pay such fee..strikes will continue and every set of student will experience it.. those who won't are the lucky ones to afford private sector funded institutions |

Madam of Enugu has flagged off more than 53km in his first tenure..and commissioned 47km visit Nsukka.. here a over hyped man is flagging off roads less than 700m something meant for local govt chairmen and you are here talking about zeal...confused person yes..Ikpeazu is a failure.. |

Joshmoore: When you see who’s ready to work, you will know. Something that took that madam Enugu and big belle Abia state governors a whole 8 years, still nothing.
This is exactly how Obi will start work from day one, day and night. No rest, no international medical check ups, no shenanigans! what is the work here please all the roads combined is not up to 15km... Uzodinma built a 37km(owerri orlu road) and is currently building a 66km road (owerri okigwe road) all in his first tenure Ifeanyi built 47km roads and has really developed Nsukka with road infrastructure let wait still soludo finishes his first tenure and quit the hype |
