kopell: It’s all depends on individual choice, I already share my experience with the doors. Go there talk to them the will explain everything to you, when I bought mine they offered me cheaper ones for 90k for 3ft other 3ft for 130 to 150k. Those rugged not fancy looking are better for outdoor, the fancy ones are better for indoor from my personal experience. Noted. Thanks bro. |

sonnie10: I was going to buy these types of doors but people here mentioned that they don’t last. But I still want them thou. Someone in Lagos said #250k for the 4 feet while 3 feet is #190k . That's the kind of first hand information I need. Some persons here must have gotten it. Need to learn from their experience. Good or bad. Why do you still want them though? |

Good morning my people. Pls anyone who has done frameless windows recently should kindly help me compare this quote with what's obtainable. It's just a 4 bed bungalow with 30 windows. I'm shocked by the figures quoted. 1.6m for just windows.

bobkezel: Yes location matters, 10 million is too much for that house in certain places. I know a place you can get it for 1 million with 10 tubers of yam, 1 ram, 1 male chicken, alligator pepper, bitter kola and native chalk.

FEGEITOK: Smiles.
Privacy comes at a cost, like everything else.
In this particular instance, just as you can't be seen. If men of the underworld were to operate in your house, no one will know that something isn't right.
Nothing against high fences, but I wanted you to be aware of the potential cost of that extreme privacy.
This is why the police make an issue about tinted windows and the high and mighty die for them.
What an irony by the way. It's all about preference. I have never been a fan of high fences and gates. Why build a fine house to hide it all behind a fence almost taller than the building itself? About security, I believe fence alone doesn't provide any, no matter how high. It could even be detrimental in some cases. I prefer to keep it low, light up the area with solar, and security cameras. Quality doors and some rugged dogs. Fate will handle the rest. |

UC92: It isn't ideal. Designers, builders and home owners just do that for want of space. You will agree with me that most homes where the gates are placed at the extreme, the style of parking there is usually tandem parking.
If your lot can afford a turning radius of 6m for cars, go ahead and place your gate wherever you want. All right bro. Thank you. |

Abbeyb1ack: You stated the reason alreadyfor ease of driving in and out Imagine if the gate was positioned at the center in the picture sent ....dats W for wahala sir True boss. But the reason I asked is cos I'm considering my ease of entrance due to how my building is designed. Just wanted to know if there's any other reason people fix it at the extreme. |

sonnie10: If you put ‘‘em for center, you no think say you go jam the house when you want drive in? Especially when you don put small liquor for head. And then, you go still dey make the turn turn to go park for comer, for to make space for your neighbor to enter. To much wahala! Hmm. |

I had to have all the gravel washed so they were clean and had absolutely no soil clinging to them before they were allowed to form the base on which the concrete footing rests This guy's attention to detail. I hope I can go through this whole process. Thank you. |

Eventually it will show up, but much later.
If you want to stop capillary action install a capillary break or several layers of capillary breaks.
Here is what I am currently doing
I installed a 4-inch-thick gravel bed (next time I plan to make it 6 inches) Wow. All that for capillary. This is really a big problem. Pls I would like to see some pictures detailing this process. If possible. Thank you. |

We have expensive paints that keeps water away from the walls of the building . Yeah. I love it's simplicity as well. Pls suggest quality paints specifically made to combat this problem. Thank you. |

Greetings house.
I noticed this belting and tiling is a common practice. People say it's to slow down capillary and also protect that part of the building from water splash. But I personally do not fancy it.
Is it really necessary or just for aesthetics? Someone help pls..
