He is saying you should remain there, God forbid! One hidden fact about this issue is that many people claiming they are working including myself fall under this category. You are employed, yes! A working class? Yes. But the salary ehnn... (mine is even not up to 50k) Well, to maintain the records, keep body and soul together, and most importantly, grow your work experience awaiting better opportunities like this very one. And if God says is your turn, why not. babangy: I have Degree in Computer Science and also have my Master's degree in computer science but guess what? I work with a private bank as marketer with a salary not up to 60,000 monthly, which is not even constant, sometimes you recieved 40 to 48k in a month. So what are you saying |

In line with what you said, I discovered the initial screening was not properly done. One of my friends applied for Ass. Safety.... and the position was for 6 years experience, but he had just 3 years experience. He was so surprised to be shortlisted and he took the test. A lot of freshers will fall on this category according to the update from @Lek4sure. It would have been best they were not invited in the first place instead of raising their hopes only to dash it all of a sudden, perhaps after a very sound test score. But again I felt if the recruiters were to properly screen the applicants, it will delay the process, owing to the volume of applications they had to handle at that initial stage. Well, the lord is our strength as we wait. Anonz: First of all I’m not a fresh graduate, I’m vastly experienced for the role I applied for. I’m just stating facts. Screening should have been done in the beginning so that only qualified candidates are invited for aptitude test. But because Testmi is being paid based on the number of candidates that sit for the exams, they invited people irrespective of qualifications. Secondly some roles were actually for freshers that have completed NYSC check those Analyst II positions in Legal & Licensing and Consumer Affairs. |

Thanks for the update bro. leks4sure: Panel Interview with the top management is scheduled for November ending at the commission's office in Abuja. Invite would be rolled out some days before then.
Top five candidates acording to performance in the online test and quality of CV based on qualifications and experience for every role advertised are expected to be shortlisted.
Being among top scorers does not give one the guaranty of making it to the next stage. A lot of guys that had high scores have been dropped because they don't have cognate experience and skills for the expected roles. All fresh graduates were dropped also. This recruitment is strictly for experience hires.
Some roles have stiffer competition than others. Some managerial roles candidates like principal managers even performed poorly in the CBT but would be invited as they are vastly experienced.
Circa 400 candidates needed for the next stage to select about 70 candidates.
All the best to everyone! |

I agree with you. Perhaps what she meant was entry level salaries for each, as upward salary review goes with experience. nikola: Yes! Very true. But Threesha's post is still very valid. |

Ommooo! This one na killer o. People go begin restrategize with this kind of info. May God help us. evisky: HOW MUCH THE NERC PAYS ITS WORKERS The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) pays its entry level/fresh graduate personnel a monthly salary between the range of ₦250,000 and ₦290,000 after tax on average in 2022.
When allowances and incentives are added to a NERC employee’s compensation, it considerably increases. |

The tin don go two months again, habba. Dis people better contact us earlier o so that we go know which one we dey inside naa. I don't think they will conclude this recruitment this year with this recent info. May God help us. Olowozain: It seems many people here placed big emphasis on the test and one of the reasons the test results are not displayed/shown. I would like to put on here that the test is just a factor, not exactly the determinant. None of the vacancies are entry level where aptitude/assessment test is the determinant. Next phase should begin two months from the time the last phase ended/closed! |

Many thanks for your response. Olowozain: You asked question and you deserved an answer. The answer is, it is not real, the advert might be outdated and not of recent. NERC 2022 recruitment is closed for registration and applications. Be careful on clicking links, our computing devices are most vulnerable to attackers and hackers through that.... |

Fellow colleagues, just to draw your attention to the experience I had last weekend (precisely 18th of March) and also get your views. I came across the above subject matter sometimes early February (last month) and I applied. Last week, I received a mail from them precisely Thursday, scheduling me for a virtual interview on Friday by 9:40am, and sure, I was seated prepared some few minutes to the scheduled time. I was able to link up with them using the link they gave me. I waited until I saw some other participants came on board as well. After about roughly an hour, they apologized for keeping us that long, and demanded we log out so we can be contacted one after the other for the interview. We gladly did and that was all until date. No call for me as I sat behind my laptop until 4pm. I made a mail to them, trying to figure out what went wrong but no response until date. Did anybody experienced same, cos I am so confused. |

I lack words to class this piece, but if you ask me, this is the mindset that have kept me moving on, and I know it will surely pay off one day, so long as God lives. I don't want to be carried away by any connection story. I knew two of my childhood friends that got NNPC APL (2012), and DPR APL (2013) respectively. I knew where they rose from, needless for me to over-flog some issues here. If they can get it, then any other unconnected person can also. I was part of same NNPC process without APL in 2012, but I still believes my best then wasn't good enough, and am not discouraged. ThreeBlackBird: Just withdraw your application and move on or let's have peace. You sound defeated already even before the process is concluded.
When we talk about merit, do you consider yourself qualified? Look closely at yourself and answer honestly. Did you finish with a first class? How high did you score in both tests? Do you have the slightest idea of how many candidates outperformed you? If you don't get the job, would you agree it's possible someone did better than you?
We've seen recruitment exercises marred by malpractice and many of the agencies involved don't even care about your emotions so if you say people are trying to push a merit narrative of the process, it mean you think too highly of yourself and you should know better. They don't think there's anything you can do about it.
Everyone of good conscience who bothered to follow up on the NNPC process agreed it was fair to a very large extent. It was, in fact, shocking that it trended on twitter and a lot of people testified to the meritous process, even here on nairaland. That you or anyone you know didn't qualify is not enough reason to rubbish the process and those hardworking and qualified people who made it.
My opinion may not be popular because a lot of you find consolation in rubbishing the process even when you know deep down that only the rarest of luck can push you so far in the process. I will still give kudo to the NNPC process and if this recruitment is anything as NNPC, the smart folks here have not so much to worry about.
And if you think for a reason that nairalanders, on getting the job, would still come here to banter as usual, then the joke is on you. Almost everyone would move on with the exception of a few who would simply either be passing time or catching cruise here.
Those banking on merit and God should not lose hope with many discouragement that comes with the process. They would tell you many things and how you don't know anyone. How the country is fvcked and how all the slots have been given out. They could be wrong as they were on the NNPC thread. Give it your best and wait patiently. It just might pay off. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: NCDMB 2020 Oil and Gas EH & GT Jobs by cojack: 10:00pm On Apr 07, 2021 |
One thing am very sure of is that, they might just pick some very few from each list(according to importance), and throw away the rest. I don't think there will be any slot left if they have to employ every candidate on the, let's say Senate list alone, talk more of all other lists. They will surely reserve some percentage for merit (my opinion though) CCAb: As it stands
1. Min of Petroleum (MBuhari) list 2. Min of State Petroleum list 3. Senate committee list 4. House Committee list 5. Senate president 6. House speaker 7. Other head of agencies list 8. Bayelsa Chiefs list 9. ES list 10. Private sector list 10. Other interested connected people list
Which list did I miss out?
Even NNPC that recruited a 1050 no do reach this one. Guys just wait for invite and be shocked, because the recruitment would still be a shocker finally because most people do not even believe NCDMB is recruiting |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: NCDMB 2020 Oil and Gas EH & GT Jobs by cojack: 6:34pm On Apr 01, 2021 |
I was part of those that were successful in that 2014 NNPC recruitment. We waited for interview invite until the 2019 recruitment was advertised. I reapplied for experienced hire, but wasn't shortlisted. Am very surprised, and also hearing it for the first time that some persons got APL in 2015, with respect to same recruitment. Well, God dey o. Bomshell84: In December, 2014, NNPC aptitude test was written for Operators/graduate trainee and experienced hired. Successful candidates received invitation for interview which was later halted but some persons still got APL in 2015. How come? In the DPR 2016 Junior staff recruitment which was concluded in January, 2018, there was no interview after the aptitude test. APL were issued. In PTI 2018 recruitment which was concluded in November, 2018, there was no interview after the aptitude test. APL were issued. That you have not seen or witnessed it doesn't mean that it has not occurred before. This is Nigeria where "everything" is possible. |

I don't think you are correct. A friend of mine got 23% in the first test, and subsequently got a rejection text message, notifying him that he hasn't been proceeded for the second phase of the recruitment process. chardyni: OPINION
The first test was probably discarded due to its irregularities. Quamodo did not want to accept that their system was breached. That is why people that got 20% got shortlisted for the second time.
Test scores,by state, may become irrelevant. Remember each candidate fell into a profession eg finance, engineering etc. Further selection may be based on the discipline and scores. |

I actually praised testmi for putting up the score. Personally, I love it when I take a test and the score is displayed almost immediately so that I Know my fate, and this will be the second time I am getting such result after test, with NDDC recruitment being the first. During NDDC testing, immediately you are done taking the test, your score pops up few seconds afterwards. Then, people accepted their scores without complaining, why, because they obviously have nothing to complain about, because there were no itches while writing, no submitting test issues, no loading test issues, no server problems, no issues of taking the test 3 or 4 times (ordinarily, if am given the opportunity to take a test twice, my second performance MUST exceed my first, but some did it more than twice-will you blame them?), Majority of the people complaining have a genuine course to do so, if am in their shoes I will complain. Testmi on the other hand have both the yam and the knife on their hands, they decides the way to go as far as the recruitment is concerned. If they decide to move in your direction, congrats, you proceed to the next phase, if they don't, to God be the glory, you move on with your search as better opportunity awaits you. Nairalandgirl: You guys should stop blaming testmi for exam malpractice The only thing I blame them for is putting up the scores
DPR, CUSTOMS, FIRS, NNPC aptitude test all have the same level of malpractice if not worse but there was no complaining about such malpractice
The only reason people are wailing about malpractice and agitating is because they are seeing other people's scores and comparing
If there were no scores displayed, all we would have been doing was waiting and praying to get to the next stage..
Forget about malpractice or whatever and pray for favour to get to the next stage. |
