My respect for this man, Audu Ogbhe is up a notch. It's even better to know that he's a top member of a potential party in power.

One only hopes such thoughtful expositions can be brought to bear in policy making and implementation.

jasper7:
Doctor said I need rest. but how can I sleep when there's a lot to be done. I need people to make it through agriculture. I need to be involved in people's success. This year I have decided to do a lot of travelling and visiting of people's farms. help them set-up and reach their goals. brace up! cos if you are planting, I might be visiting you.

I thought about this a lot during the tail end of last year. why do I leave my well paying farms and start visiting people and helping them set up. what do I stand to gain? Not much, but I believe in having a strong network of farmers who grow similar crops, I believe that is the key to marketing. And besides I need land. I want to expand. and I am getting good offers for land in the west. cheesy.

This my sickness and my many travels towards the end of last year showed me that I don't necessarily need to be on ground for my farm here to function. I have able hands, and partners who can keep it ticking here. while I explore other locations.

Trust me, a lot will happen in agriculture this 2015 and a select few will gain from my enthusiasm. while I gain also from their knowledge and ideas. watch this space, great things might soon start happening here

You HAVE TO heed the doc's advice.

It would give you better strength in the long run to achieve more of those your (selfless) goals.

I don't mind to have the seeds too, in Lagos

...and you'd do well to contact the Thai coy on our behalf so we can have their contact details ASAP

thanks again and get strong, fast.

Politics / Re: The Trouble With The Buhari Manifesto BY ABIMBOLA ADELAKUN by cola: 6:40pm On Jan 01, 2015
We might as well ask for the four years budgets to be included in the manifesto!

A manifesto is a statement of WHAT a person/party aims to achieve.

But it's good questions are being asked.

BTW, can we compare with the other party's?
Politics / Re: South Got 70% Of Fund Allocated For Road Construction Under PTF by cola: 1:08pm On Dec 27, 2014
10. It is true that out of the 13,090km
roads rehabilitated, 32% in the south and
68% in the north. But that's half the story.
11. In terms of km, 7.3% of d rehabilitated
roads were in SE; 8.5% in SW;16.25 in SS;
21.1% in NW; 23.4% in NE; and 23.5% in
NC.
12. But it is also true that the landmass
varies among zones and same with
degree of difficulty and cost.
13. A look at the cost of roads in different
zones and the overall allocation to zones
in all PTF projects show a different
picture.
N77. 2b was committed to roads out of
the total of N187b allocated to PTF till
May 99.
15. Of the N77.2b to roads, SW got N 9.7
b; SE, N14.5b; SS, N 30. 5b. This means
SW got 12.6% of road budget; SE, 18.8%;
SS, 39.5%.
16. Of d N77.2b committed to roads, NE
got N7.1b; NC, N7. 4b; NW, N7.9b,
meaning NE got 9.2%, NC got 9.6% and
NW 10.3%.
17. This shows that in terms of cost, the
variation btw north and south reversed in
favour of d south.
18. Under roads, the south got 70% in
terms of amount allocated and the north
got 30%.

19. It may sound counter intuitive, but it
is also an established fact that road
construction costs more in the south
than in the north.
20. Those circulating facts about
kilometers of roads possibly also have
information about cost of the roads and
total allocation.
21. Possibly, they selectively chose the
data set that will help their argument that
@ThisIsBuhari is sectional.
22. Also, of the total N187b allocated to
PTF, the south got more than the north.
23. In the 6 areas under PTF, SE got
N26.9b; SW, N28.8b; SS, N49b.
Representing 15% for SE, 15.4% for SW,
and 26.2% for SS.
24. That is a total of 56.7% for the south
out of the entire budget of PTF.
25. Of d total PTF allocation, NC got
N20bn; NE, N26b; and NW N34. 9b.
Meaning 10.7% for NC; 13.9% for NE; and
18.7% for NW.
26. That's 43.3% for the North out of the
total N187b
allocation to PTF.

one can ignore the usual bigots and hate-mongering characters here, but if Afenifere knows this here to be facts and still prefers to focus attention of the people on ONLY kilometres of road per region in what would now seem a deliberate attempt to malign a good man's integrity, then only one word fits the group: SHAME

I'm still at a loss though on which university in the country offers the best programme for OR.

I'll like an M.Sc in Nigeria before I consider a Ph.D programme abroad
Education / Operations Research / Mgt. Sc. / Decision Science Students & Pros: Let's discuss by cola: 11:05am On Dec 26, 2014
Hi everyone,

Operations Research (OR) or Decision Science as it is otherwise called is arguably one of the most exciting areas of study. It's equally one of the most respected areas of study as it cuts across all other disciplines.

I searched this board and couldn't come up with anything worthwhile.

This field of study and its professionals are not so popular in the country right now. I'd wager though that the few that there are in the various industries are very much valued and respected.

If you are a student (grad. and undergrad.) or a professional of OR, pls let us discuss, share ideas and experience and make this thread a spring of information and encouragement for aspiring students and pros.

Let's share resources, ideas, suggestions and help one another attain success and grow a vital aspect of human resource for our society.

Let's go....

how much land resource is required for growing mushrooms?

@world1

can you leave your contact details here
where exactly is your training taking place?
how much land is required for growing mushrooms?

world1:

Mushroom farming is highly lucrative but relatively new in Nigeria.
The training is per individual but if you can arrange a group of 5 then it will be cheaper
Yes there would be post training support.
There is ready made market for mushroom both local and international.

mikeansy:
For clarification if my previous post is not clear

I am saying Tambuwal should step down voluntarily as speaker because he was speaker by virtue of being in the majority party in the house!
Now that he is no longer in PDP that is no longer true and he can't continue as speaker

He can continue however as a floor member in the house until PDP approach the courts to declare his seat vacant!

no sir! he was not speaker because he was supported by the majority party.

in fact, he was speaker because he was supported by the minority parties.

the majority party supported someone else in the name of Mulikat.

Tambuwal emerged speaker by the support of the minority parties members.

Pls don't revise history, recent history at that.

Having put that straight, my wish is for what is just to prevail.

Islam for Muslims / Re: Fatwa Allows Men To Watch 'potential Wives' Shower... by cola: 12:45pm On Aug 19, 2014
@ OP

you should be banned for this!

you input your own interpretation of his words as his direct speech..... for mischief

you posted a video in arabic as your source when you know the huge majority here can't understand what the man says

the man did not anywhere in the video say what you accuse him of. He did not utter the word 'bath' or any such thing in the two-minute video

he said if your intentions are pure and you are satisfied with every other thing about the lady and the only thing remaining for you is to see her (face uncovered, then you can secretly see her face uncovered). N.B: Words in brackets are mine. He added that a person with good intentions would not go about doing that for two, three and more ladies.

The Muslim lady is expected to be fully covered in her hijaab in public as decency and modesty require, so a suitor who is happy with every other thing he has come to know about her can ask to see her face or discreetly view her face uncovered if he has such means.

@OP, if you don't relent, maybe someday, your hate and mischief would sort you out.

Hi fnk,

I'm asking again...

sir, if you'd be kind enough to allow me, I'd really like to visit your farm
I really would love to learn from your broiler farm if I can get an appointment with you

If you are not in the country, you could facilitate the visit for me with your men on the farm.

Hoping to hear from you.

Thanks and God bless.
