Comprehension problem or mindless mischief! The president was referring to the civil servants with entrenched interests in the MDAs. He said as far as these directors were concerned, they (APC) were only saying rubbish on the campaign trail because they (the directors) were determined to continued their old ways of doing things since it's the only way many of them knew. |
@jethro2 God bless you for you selflessness Pls enlighten me: Does all these process about tomato also apply to pepper (ata rodo)? 1. soil type? 2. planting times? 3. nursery techniques? 4. water needs? 5. manure/fertilizers? 6. pests and diseases? 7. marketing? Are tomatoes and pepper the same in all these areas? if they are different in certain respects, pls can you briefly explain how pepper is different? Thanks, sister. |
The difficult times started since 2014. Madam Iweala attested to this early 2015 in wide circulated report. Was Buhari the president in 2014? http://www.newsexpressngr.com/news/detail.php?news=11232&title=Prepare-for-hard-times;-things-will-be-tough-till-the-end-of-2015,-Okonjo-Iweala-advises-Nigerians Prepare for hard times; things will be tough till the end of 2015, Okonjo-Iweala advises Nigerians By News Express on 06/05/2015 The Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has advised Nigerians not to expect any dramatic improvement in the next few months, as the country’s economic challenges are far from being over. “As you know, I have been honest with you since the current economic problems started. I would like to repeat: we have serious challenges, things have been tough since the beginning of the year and they are likely to remain so till the end of the year. We have serious challenges but we also have strengths and if we do the right things we can keep a steady course and emerge out of the current situation,” Okonjo-Iweala said during yesterday’s briefing in Abuja on the finalised 2015 Budget. She disclosed that “as a result of the 50% decline in oil revenues, the country has faced a difficult cash crunch and the Federal Government has focused on keeping the economy stable and the government running through a series of measures.” |
The journalist and the newspaper are criminally careless or mischievous. 10billion annually divided by 57000 prisoners and 365 days in a year does not equal 14000 naira. The simple arithmetic gives 480 naira per day per prisoner. Mods pls do the needful and avoid misinforming your readers. |
modath:With due respect i want you to point me to me the exact doc or audio or similar where the president or the vp talked about stipends for the unemployed. What I have heard the vp talk about is stipend for the poorest and most vulnerable. Now, who disagrees with handouts for 65yrs old widows and weak old men. Govts in even more prosperous economies have social safety nets for the most vulnerable in their societies. And the money they get gets spent in the economy anyway... For the unemployed, no. For poor old widows and the weak, i don't mind. |
zayidhs:Thank you for this. Quite detailed. |
CzarChris:Are you sure, sir that these are after-tax earnings? |

seunmsg:You don't get it. Metuh and his lawyers are simply afraid of Abang Okon, who seems to be the most merciless against accused looters. Remember record 400m naira bail. And then 2billion? Metuh and friends know that with this man, there would be no games and it would be the maximum sentence if convicted. Any judge but Abang! |
Abang Okon? Is that not the judge that gave that 2 billion naira bail to Badeh? This judge seems the most ruthless against accused looters! Metuh has good reasons not to want this man on his case. Nobody would ![]() Next he would say the man is his nephew ![]() Anything to get the man off his case! |

No discussion, no contributions |
This woman has laid bare the direction she and her ministry are headed as it concerns the country's finances. 24hrs after the OP, only about 5 people have commented. And the legion of naysayers would not stop lamenting that the govt does not communicate its direction. Selective myopia? |
A poorly brought up girl runs away with an equally poorly brought up man, an entire religion gets bashed by ignorant bigots. Innocent kids (3 of them, not one) got stolen by criminal pastor and xtian gang, not even one person has mentioned xtianity. Who's got intolerance? Who's got bigotry? Who's got hypocrisy? Oh yeah, we know, there's an explanation. |
Hmmm... Many on here are not seeing anything wrong with harrassment and discrimination against citizens that have done nothing wrong... maybe because you hate their faith. That's no problem. Each and everyone that supports injustice because it suits him/her has only tacitly and unwittingly endorsed the injustice and humiliation coming to him/her in due time. It's only a matter of time. Oh, and yes, when it does come, you'll still get blamed. |
And who says dead bones shall not rise! Four years after the OP, this thread roars back to life most relevantly. It beats me everyone laments the state of the economy and here comes a plausible even if not infallible attempt at correcting the situation, then nobody comments! Even 3 days after ressurection, the thread is still on first page, never mind front page. Mr. Boyo's ideas need to be brought to the fore and debated more. |
Air Force one, Ground Force one, nobody is complaining. It's America, of course. |
What grade did you graduate with? If your degree class is high - 4.0 and above you could apply to some schools esp yours to be recruited as graduate assistant. Otherwise finish up with your m.sc and get the doctorate going and apply as assistant lecturer to your select schools. Best of luck. |
No more impunity |
@OP and cohort Stop the ignorance... Lassa fever in Nigeria http://www.who.int/csr/don/2012_04_04/en/ 4 APRIL 2012 - At the beginning of 2012, WHO was notified by the Federal Ministry of Health in Nigeria of an outbreak of Lassa fever. As of March 22, 2012, 623 suspected cases, including 70 deaths have been recorded from 19 of the 36 States since the beginning of the year. Laboratory analysis undertaken at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, Irrua Edo State has confirmed the presence of Lassa virus infection in 108 patients. Three doctors and four nurses were reported to be among the fatalities. This information is provisional and subject to change when laboratory results for Lassa fever in suspected cases become... Remind us again who was president in 2012. |
kleek:Make up your mind, fella. You, in one breath said those set of questions were 100X more difficult than the first two picture-pattern questions and that you didn't expect anyone to get them right. Now that guys here have made light-works of your 'big deal', you turn round and say they are only general knowledge questions and don' t show IQ. Swallow your pride and admit you overrate yourself. Good job, Passingshot and clique. |
Are we going to ban agbada and babanriga too? And the backpack bags that is ubiquitous in every school? Buhari made this statement under a situation of insistent pressure to provide an answer without having the time to think it through. In fact his first reaction was that banning the hijab was no option. Nobody is going to ban any hijab. The farthest anybody would go is to start an appeal campaign for women in the areas concerned to reduce the size of the hijab. May the terrorists never succeed. |
OldJohn:@bold Oh yeah, like Joseph kony of the LRA. Kony is a 'muslim'. Jerry Adams and Sinn Fein are 'muslims'. Ignorance + bigotry = terrorism |
Ibrahim succeeds Ibrahim |
Some misguided people were here the other day arguing about what juice went to what region. As if the 'juice' would ever get to them. |
A more responsible media would promote words like: influential, important, powerful, and in fact use comparatives like 'more influencial' to describe appointments since all offices that affect the people are, at the end of the day, important. |
I think the ombudsman should caution and in fact sanction media organisations that describe public offices as juicy or not juicy. How does responsible media describe public trust as juicy?Aren't they ashamed that they embolden corruption? We as a people complain about corruption and turn round to applaud 'juicy' appointments! Juicy ministry Juicy committee Juicy office Juicy posting Juicy..... We should make up our minds what we want and stop the ridicule. |
Haa haa haa Now I understand why pdp senators gave Alh. Lai an easy pass at the screening: they can't wait to see Lai leave the spokesman job. He can be anything he wants as long as it means no more of his devastating missives as apc's spokesman. |
abdulbaba200:Anyone answer this? |
hmm... |
summary coming... @lalasticlala |
