I wonder why some people here said that IOM Nigeria isn't efficient.
I emailed IOM lagos at the same time i emailed IOM Australia, both replied almost same time (next day)
I supplied them the required info and got their quotes.
Ok. IOM Lagos came a little bit cheaper than IOM Australia, ($30 difference ) and more importantly a better route as it is Lagos-Dubai-Melbourne where as the other is Lagos-Dubai-Singapore-Melbourne.
The mode of payment is better with IOM Lagos too as you simply pay into their Standard Chartered Bank Acc.

I have been following this thread though I refrained from writing...until today.
I was in church with my friend; a catholic church for Sunday morning service. We arrived late and decided to sit at the children's wing so that we don't cause any distractions. After taking our seats, the normal OK Plastics chairs, I noticed this man sitting in front of me, dozing. At that moment, I whispered to my friend that I feel like just pushing him, why should he come to church and be dozing? Guess what, as soon as I whispered this to my friend, his seat started moving. Not slowly o. The church warden rushed to stop the chair and succeeded. I swear, I did not touch him! My friend stopped talking to me from that day. Till date I don't know how to explain this.

Another one, at Uni, I went to the boys hostel to see my boyfriend Uzo. He was a final year Med student. I had heard he was cheating on me with a fresh student. When I got to the room, he said he was going out. I said he was going nowhere because he had just received a call and I was suspicious. Anyway, we argued and scrambled for the room key. Being stronger, he overpowered me, grabbed the key, locked me in and went his way.

As you could imagine, I was furious, screaming for him to come back and let me out but he did not heed my call. Next thing I knew was that I grabbed my own house key and tried it on his locks and the door opened. Seeing that he had locked me in, the guy did not bother to go far. He was downstairs with the fresher. When I got downstairs, they were both shocked beyond words. Now, the trouble is that we tried to make up afterwards, but I could not explain how I got out. The same key I used refused to open the same door. Needless to say, that was the end of the engagement.

Ok. I hope you know that their language is very difficult to understand. More difficult than the German language and I don't think the schools are known for Eng. The Arts is what they are known for.

Ok. Got married to the best man in the world for me. He was from the west. I am from the north. Had the best 7 years of my life with two great kids of both sexes. Mind you, when we got married he had nothing. Not even his own apartment though he was very brilliant with good prospects. I, on the other hand already had a job in the financial services sector. Good pay.

It was very rosy until the cold hands of death snatched him away and then I saw the true colors of the people I had married. Mind you, within the space of 7 years he had risen to become the most successful of his parents 7 children. Exotic vacations abroad and all.

Now, the crux of the matter is that being from a different ethnic group, I am now alienated and given the cold shoulder especially when I decided to demand for my rights as the only and legal wife. Time and again, all I keep hearing is that 'it is because you are not from our place' or 'This is how we do it here'.

I am doing alright by the way, but I have learnt my lesson. No inter-tribal marriage for my daughter because at best she might end up being treated as an appendage and not being fully integrated.
