There has been gross misconception of who a born again Christian is. It is a common notion in our world today that once you confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, you have automatically become a born again. Capital NO. It is simply an induction into the body of Christ. Declaring Him your Lord and Saviour, participating in every church activity, etc. does not make one a born again.

Who is a born again Christian?
A born again Christian is someone that has experienced a spiritual rebirth. A remarkable encounter with the Holy Ghost. He fears nothing again but God. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind - 2 Timothy 1:7.
Now you wonder why Peter in spite of being ardent Christ follower denied Christ (Matt. 26:69-75). It was simply out of fear, he was not born again. He became born again after an encounter with the Holy Ghost, the upper room experience.
Acts 2:1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
2:2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting.
2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.
2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Now here comes a different Peter from the one that denied Christ, a Peter filled with Holy Ghost and Power. A Peter that knows no fear, a Peter that can confront any situation, a Peter that can now stand his ground in defense of the Master Jesus Christ whom he denied earlier. He has put on a new man (Ephesians (4:24-32).
Is it not amazing that the same Peter that denied Christ stood and spoke to the people in boldness and power, and about three thousand soul was converted (Acts 2:41).

Dear beloved in Christ, desire and seek an encounter with the Holy Ghost that you might experience this new birth.

Hear the words of Christ: Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God - John 3:5
