Much have been said about Dasuki's fundamental human right, Buhari's disregard to the judiciary and law blah! blah! blah!. Nobody among these people said anything about the 'fundamental human wrongs' committed by this man and his cohorts. Are we saying that Dasuki's right is more important than the death of thousands of civilians and soldiers that died due to the actions and inaction of this man and his associates, or is it the rape and torture that civilians and army have gone through? Would Dasuki be granted bail in the first place in China,Singapore, Malaysia, UAE etc if he committed the same offence there? These countries were hitherto less developed than Nigeria a few years back. Can you imagine how many Nigerians would jump at the opportunity to live in any of these countries now? The judicial system in Nigeria is fake and condone corrupt practices. Why won't I steal billions when I know I can easily get bail and go for plea bargain, or worst, two years imprisonment. Remember the James Ibori case in Nigeria? OK. Where is Lucky Igbinedion and Peter Odili of this world? They are cooling off enjoying their loots, thanks to Nigeria judiciary. Now tell me anywhere in the world such people will Scott free. I think we need change and total overhaul of our judiciary and minds. I am not saying fundamental human right should be jettisoned, but definitely not for Dasuki and his likes. Nigeria would be great today if all these atrocities were not pardoned or patted at the back. I rest my case for now. |
I am messed up right now and I need your advice. I work in a company where I report directly to a lady. My woe started when I went to her office one day to pick up a file. As I entered her office, my phone rang so I decided to take the call. The call was a bit long so she decided to get the file for me from one of the file cabinets. As she bent for the bottom drawer her skirt tore terribly exposing her panties. The phone almost dropped from my hand. I tried to hurry out of the office but she called me back to help her go across the street to stitch it. I was almost frozen. Ever since then she has been disturbing me to sleep with her. She said she gave me the job because she love me. I just got married and don't want to cheat. Yesterday, she called me and and dropped the bombshell " if you don't sleep with me I will fire you". What do I do? I don't want to lose that job. I am considering reporting her to my general manager but I am afraid of the consequence. |
A Nigerian pastor, one Mr Chukwudi Okechukwu,
who preaches in Tanzania, under the umbrella of
the Lord Chosen Church of Nigeria, has
reportedly bagged a 30-year jail term after being
convicted of smuggling cocaine worth Sh3.1
billion.
According to reports, Okechukwu, who Anti-
narcotics police allegedly believe is one of the
top members of a drug syndicate operating in
Tanzania, Nigeria and South Africa, was jailed
alongside a South African, one Stan Hycent and
Pakistani Shoaib Mohammad Ayazi over the
same offence.
High Court Judge, Amir Mruma, reports say has
ordered the accused to pay Sh9 billion in fines.
pass
He and his three accomplices were reportedly
hiding in a mansion in Dar es Salaam’s Kuduchi
Mtongani suburbs when the police allegedly
surrounded the house and arrested them.
Anti-narcotics police had received information
about foreigners who were planning to smuggle
into the country a huge quantity of cocaine and
store it in a house in Kunduchi Mtongani.
However, a surveillance team led by head of
Anti-Drugs Unit, ADU, Godfrey Nzowa, was
deployed to keep an eye on the mansion that the
preacher and his accomplices had rented.
The team had purportedly knocked on the front
gate in their bid to arrest the suspected drug
dealers.
Soon after the police knocked on the gate and
introduced themselves, reports further revealed
that the four suspects started running around the
house in apparent fear and panic.
There was an alleged cat-and-mouse chase
drama inside the compound as the police tried to
get hold of one of the suspects as he was
attempting to jump over the fence. Three
suspects were arrested inside the house.
The Nigerian suspect was reportedly the only
one who managed to jump over the wall but was
arrested after a chase by the police.
Upon searching the house, anti-drugs police
allegedly seized 81 packets of drugs which were
later confirmed by a Chief Government chemist
to be cocaine hydrochloride.
However, intelligence report revealed he visited
Tanzania some years back and had made a
name for himself as a pastor at his ‘Kinondoni
Biafra’ church and won many followers.
The head of Anti-Drugs Unit, Nzowa, reportedly
described their jailing as ‘another great
achievement’ in Tanzania’s efforts to fight drug
trafficking.
“Unlike a gun or pistol which kills people
instantly, drugs are killing the young generation
slowly. If we are not aggressive in fighting the
illicit trade we may find ourselves losing the
young generation,” he said.
Nzowa also added that drug business was a
threat to national security especially when
foreigners are left to operate in the country.
“The jailing of the Nigerian pastor and his co-
conspirators brought to three, the number of high
profile drug cases that have been heard and
determined by the High Court in the space of
three months.
“Early in September, the same court sentenced
to 20 years a young Tanzanian, Fred William
Chonde, to 20 years in jail after it found him
guilty of possessing 180kg worth Sh 5.2 billion
and ordered him to pay a Sh 15 billion fine,”
Nzowa noted.
“Again last month, the court sentenced a
businessman, Kadiria Saidi Kimaro, who
attempted to smuggle 91 heroin capsules that he
had swallowed, through Julius Nyerere
International Airport, JNIA, to 20 years in jail. He
was also ordered to pay Sh122 million in fine.”
Nzowa further noted that the speed with which
the Judiciary hears and determined the drug
cases has renewed hopes by anti-drugs
campaigners who had accused courts of
mishandling drug cases.
“There has been a concern that the way court
handled drug trafficking cases might make it
easy for the convicts to later secure freedom or
bail in what could be viewed as disregard of the
law,” he noted.
“Corruption and influence peddling by highly
placed individuals have been cited as one factor
that frustrates the war against traffickers.”
However, the judiciary has repeatedly defended
itself over the accusations, saying shoddy police
investigations and poor prosecution were to
blame for the circumstance.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), on
Friday, said it had detected fake certificates
alleged to be issued by its office and called on
employers of labour to always verify certificates
to ascertain their authenticity .
NYSC
Alhaji Hudu Taura, Director, Certification, NYSC
said this while addressing newsmen in Abuja.
He said that the verification measure became
imperative in order to curb activities of
fraudsters who issue fake certificates.
According to Taura, NYSC recently launched a
new certificate which carries the passport of the
corps members with some other security fixtures
added to upgrade it.
He said that the organisation detected 17 fake
certificates of exemption when the management
of the Guaranty Trust Bank (GBT) brought some
certificates of their employees to NYSC for
verification.
He said the owners of those certificates were
invited to come for proper verification but out of
the 17 invited only seven responded.
He said out of the seven only four culprits were
being presented because three of them
absconded.
Taura said that they confessed to have paid
certain amounts to some fake NYSC staff to get
the certificate.
He said their statements had been compiled and
would be passed to security agents to take the
appropriate action to arraign them in court.
“We invited the owners of those certificates to
come because that is what we normally do
whenever we doubt any certificate; but out of
the 17 invited only seven showed up.
“We verified their certificates and took their
statement, because it was discovered that they
were fake; as they were not issued by us and
they confessed that they got them from some
other sources.
“We are appealing to all employers of labour to
bring the certificates that are said to be issued
by NYSC for verification anytime they are
employing to ascertain its genuiness.
“They can also bring those of their old
employees working with them too. This is to help
us curb the activities of fraudsters.
‘No NYSC staff was involved in the scam
because the name and account number of the
so called staff was mentioned and he is not a
staff.”
Taura said that some of the paraded people
went as far as paying from N40 ,000 ,N45,000 up
to N50,000 to get the fake certificate of
exemption.
He urged the media to also help in sensitising
the public on the activities of scammers to
enable NYSC fish out all those involved and also
stop people from falling victims.
Speaking, some of the culprits told newsmen
that they were innocent of the allegation as they
were ignorantly misled by their school
coordinators to pay money for certificate of
exemption.
Mr Olatunde Abolorin said he paid N25 .000 after
his graduation for the certificate as cajoled by
his course coordinator in 2010 and was called
after six months for his certificate.
He said he came to NYSC office as called
because he wanted to ascertain the authenticity
of his certificate only to discover that it was
fake.
Mr Akan Macaulay and Mr Yusuf Adekunle said
they were asked to write their names if they
were interested in getting certificate of
exemption which they did and paid for without
knowing it was fake.
They appealed to NYSC to assist them to pin
down the fake NYSC official adding that they
have documents carrying his name and address.

emergency and has closed its borders after at
least 120 people were killed in gun and bomb
attacks in Paris.
Some 80 people are reported to have died at the
Bataclan concert hall in central Paris.
Gunmen took many hostages there before being
overpowered by police.
Others died in a reported suicide blast near the
Stade de France and gun attacks on city centre
restaurants. Seven attackers are reported killed.
Paris residents have been asked to stay indoors
and about 1,500 military personnel are being
deployed across the city. |
By SIMON EBEGBULEM BENIN CITY-SPECIAL Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Political Matters, Chief Charles Idahosa says the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) held the instrument of rigging elections in the country since 1999, saying therefore that the party’s persistent attack on the judiciary and the Presidency over tribunal rulings were uncalled for. According to him, “President Muhammadu Buhari was not President when the Governorship election Tribunal annulled PDP elections in Ekiti, Ondo and Edo states, so why are they blaming the Presidency for Tribunal rulings which has been going against them now. Some of us who are veteran politicians, who were even members of the PDP from the formation days are always surprise when we read papers and see the leadership of the PDP accusing the Presidency of meddling into tribunal judgments. “The PDP should realize that since 1999, the instrument of rigging elections has been in their hands and not in the hands of the APC or Buhari. PDP leaders appointed most of the INEC Commissioners whom they use to perpetrate evil during elections and they tried it in Edo in 2007, when Governor Oshiomhole’s mandate was stolen and the court came to the rescue. “ PDP has never believed in a free and fair election and some of us who were there before knew that. Can they also blame Buhari of their penchant for imposition of candidates by their god fathers and that is why we have cases where by their candidates emerge not through primaries and the courts cannot close its eyes to such electoral malpractice”. The leader of the All Progressives congress (APC) in Edo state further stated that “the PDP has nothing any more to offer, their only tactics now is to see if they can rubbish President Buhari before the international community which is not possible because the world knows the destruction PDP had caused in their 16 years in power in the country. So this their penchant of accusing Buhari each time their lose in court is not only stupid and sickening but complete failure on their part”. |
I am a bit worried and I need ur advice. My one week old baby seems to be having stomach issues. He keep wriggling and crying for hours especially at night. I was told GRIPE WATER would be helpful but I am a bit sceptical since it was not prescribed in the hospital. How useful and safe is this gripe water? Your contributions would be appreciated. |
Don’t allow pastors who don’t understand the
ways of God to continue to deceive you. God
is no respecter of “tithers.”
John says: “There is no fear in love, but
perfect love casts out fear.” (1 John 4:18).
Therefore, Christians should resist any attempt
by anyone to scare them into doing anything
pertaining to the righteousness of God. That
is precisely what mercenary pastors do in
order to arm-twist Christians to pay tithes; a
requirement now inapplicable under the New
Testament.
Threat of curses
If you are one of those with a money-minded
pastor, he will call you a thief for failing to pay
tithes and insist you are cursed. The legal
authority for this predicament comes from
Malachi: “Will a man rob God? Surely not! And
yet you have robbed me. ‘What do you mean?
When did we ever rob you?’ ‘You have robbed
me of the tithes and offerings due to me. And
so the awesome curse of God is cursing you,
for your whole nation has been robbing
me.’” (Malachi 3:8-9).
The truth, however, is that this scripture has
no application whatsoever to Christians.
Malachi’s invective was addressed to Old
Testament priests and not even their
congregation. Today’s pastors are experts at
double-speak. They quote Paul: “Christ has
redeemed us from the curse of the
law.” (Galatians 3:13). Then they use Malachi
to curse the redeemed in order to squeeze
money out of them.
Believers are blessed: “with all spiritual
blessings in the heavenly places in
Christ.” (Ephesians 1:3). These blessings are
not conditional upon the payment of tithes but
attendant on our faith in Christ and adherence
to his teachings. God would never curse a
Christian whom he has already blessed. When
Balaam was offered money to curse the
children of Israel, he replied: “God has blessed
them, and I cannot reverse it! No curse can be
placed on Jacob, and no magic shall be done
against him.” (Numbers 23:18/23).
God said to Abraham: “I will bless those who
bless you, and I will curse him who curses
you.” (Genesis 12:3). Christians are the seed
and heirs of God’s promise to Abraham.
(Galatians 3:29). Therefore, any pastor who
curses a Christian is only cursing himself.
Scourge of the devourer
Pastors further seek to manipulate Christians
by saying, if you do not pay your tithe, God
will unleash the devourer on you. (Malachi
3:11). This means you will be confronted with
all kinds of unnecessary expenditure that will
continually drain away your finances.
Accordingly, Bishop David Oyedepo writes that
rats ate all the cables in the car of a woman
in his church. When she had the car re-wired,
the rats ate the cables again. On
investigation, it was discovered she had not
been paying her tithes, which was why the
devouring rats had been unleashed on her.
Once she started paying her tithes dutifully
again, the rat-attacks stopped.
Stories like this are commonplace in the
churches and they are pure balderdash. It is
amazing how far pastors will go in order to
fleece their flock. Bishop Oyedepo says the
offending rats in question were not ordinary
rats but “devourer rats.” However, he fails to
tell us how to differentiate between the one
and the other, in case we come across any
rats.
Suffice to say that such stories are
manipulative. They are only designed to scare
people into paying tithes. I don’t pay tithes
and I don’t have rats of any kind in my car or
in my house.
Answer me this: do bad things only happen to
those who don’t pay tithes? Indeed, do bad
things only happen to unbelievers? The
answer is emphatically “No.” As a matter of
fact, the truth is that in this world, worse
things actually happen to believers than to
unbelievers. The psalmist declares: “Many are
the afflictions of the righteous.” (Psalm
34:19).
According to Jesus, in this world the believer
is appointed to problems. He says to his
disciples: “These things I have spoken to you,
that in me you may have peace. In the world
you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer,
I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33).
Tribulation, it should be pointed out, does not
connote prosperity.
Bait of showers of blessings
Having used these scare-tactics to manipulate
the gullible into paying tithes, many pastors
then employ the promise of blessings as
additional inducement. They say if you pay
your tithes, God will open the windows of
heaven for you and pour out a blessing so
great there would not be enough room to
contain it. (Malachi 3:10).
But let me ask a question here tongue-in-
cheek. Have you actually discovered that
Christians are any richer than non-Christians,
after all only Christians pay tithes?
Pastor Adeboye claims to be richer than Bill
Gates because he allegedly has houses in 188
countries. However, even if each of Adeboye’s
putative 188 houses were to cost one million
dollars, it would still not make him a
billionaire. However, Bill Gates is not worth
188 million dollars: he is worth 76 billion
dollars; making him truly the richest man in
the world. Nevertheless, Bill Gates is an
agnostic, in spite of his Catholic background.
He does not pay tithes to any church or
pastor.
Don’t believe the lie.
People don’t get rich from paying tithes. They
don’t even get rich from being righteous. Take
another look at this kingdom dynamic:
“The truth is that the wicked live on to a good
old age and become great and powerful. They
live to see their children grow to maturity
around them, and their grandchildren too.
Their homes are safe from every fear, and
God does not punish them. Their cattle are
productive, they have many happy children,
they spend their time singing and dancing.
They are wealthy and need deny themselves
nothing; they are prosperous to the end. All
this despite the fact that they ordered God
away and wanted no part of him and his
ways.” (Job 21:7-14).
Don’t allow pastors who don’t understand the
ways of God to continue to deceive you. God
is no respecter of “tithers.” Jesus says:
“(God) makes his sun rise on the evil and on
the good, and sends rain on the just and on
the unjust.” (Matthew 5:45). In all the time
you have been going to church, have you ever
seen any “tither” who received so much
money he had no room to put it? I doubt it.
The windows of heaven were opened on
believers when Jesus gave us the keys of the
kingdom of God. (Matthew 16:19). The
blessing that there shall not be room enough
to contain is the blessing of salvation. In the
kingdom of God, a man who is financially rich
is not deemed to be blessed. The man who is
blessed is he who has received forgiveness of
sins.
Jesus says: “Blessed are the merciful! For
they shall obtain mercy.” (Matthew 5:7). David
concurs: “Blessed is he whose transgression
is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is
the man to whom the LORD does not impute
iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no
deceit.” (Psalm 32:1-2).
So if you have been deceived into believing
some financial windfall is going to fall down
on you from heaven because you pay tithes,
think again. You have been conned. |
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has hailed President Muhammadu Buhari for budgeting N70m for the Independence Day anniversary. El-Rufai noted in a Facebook post on Thursday that under former President Goodluck Jonathan, the Federal Government spent billions every year on Independence Day. He noted that between 2011 and 2014, Jonathan spent over N64bn celebrating Independence Day. Curiously, in 2010 Jonathan budgeted N10bn for Nigeria’s golden jubilee celebration. He wrote, “This is the APC/PMB change we voted for. Independence anniversary expenditure for the past five years: 2011 – N13bn; 2012 - N15bn; 2013 – N14bn; 2014 – N22bn; 2015 - N70m In a separate post titled, ‘Our chance for national rebirth’, el-Rufai urged on the people of Kaduna not to lose hope. He noted that the nation was not yet where it ought to be but with purposeful leadership, things would get better. The governor subsequently pardoned some convicted prisoners. He said, “On this occasion, the Kaduna State government decided to extend mercy to prisoners. Pursuant to Section 212 of the constitution, the prerogative of mercy was exercised in favour of 14 prisoners. “The government commuted the death sentences of five convicts, who will now serve prison time. Five prisoners serving sentences of three years and above were released on the basis of good behaviour or time served already. “In addition, three prisoners were released on the basis on age while one person was released due to ill health. In doing our duty to show mercy, the government warns that it will not tolerate crime and threats to security.” He said one of the highpoints of the last 55 years was the 2015 general elections which saw the defeat of his former party, the Peoples Democratic Party, and the victory of the All Progressives Congress which will ensure the needed change. He thanked Nigerians, specifically the people of Kaduna for voting for change and steering the nation to the path of greatness. El-Rufai said, “We can celebrate because 2015 is the year that the people of this country decided it was time to begin the rebirth of a nation. Against the most concerted campaign ever mounted by a government to divide the people it was meant to lead, Nigerians refused to be set against one another. “I pay tribute to the many sacrifices that were made to make the historic elections of this year possible. What the voters of 2015 did was to make democracy a bulwark of patriotism. In other words, the people cast their votes for their country. May we never again be saddled with people who (rated) themselves above the country.” The former minister said education remained the key to development. He, therefore, declared a state of emergency in the education sector. He said, “Education is emancipation! Education is freedom from want and disease! The provision of free basic education in decent schools and with skilled teachers is one of the priorities this government will accomplish in its four-year term. “We have spent the past few months planning school repairs, the provision of school furniture and the training of teachers. Today, we move to declare a state of emergency in education. We ask for your support as we begin to implement extraordinary measures in the educational sector.” |
There are a lot of ways to send your spouse a
message without saying anything at all — and
kissing is probably one of the best ways! Kissing
is an incredibly effective (not to mention
romantic) form of nonverbal communication. It’s
important to kiss your spouse every day, multiple
times a day. Don’t ever let a day go by without
kissing the love of your life!
Show your sweetheart how you really feel with
one of these five distinct mouth-to-mouth
messages.
1. The peck
The peck is quick, easy and short. It lasts under
two seconds, and it’s an effective way to say,
“Good morning, sunshine!” or “Have a great day
at work!” Get in the habit of giving your honey a
peck before you go to bed at night and when you
wake up in the morning. Make sure you always
share a peck before heading out the door to
work. The peck is one of the simplest ways to
share physical affection at times when it’s not
realistic to share more. The peck says, “I’m
thinking about you, and I care about you.” It can
also be a great way to smooth over a tough
conversation.
2. The b*tterfly kiss.
The b*tterfly kiss is when you flutter your
eyelashes on your sweetheart’s cheek, just
below the eye. It’s a little nuzzle that says you’re
feeling cuddly and want some attention. It works
great if you’re lucky enough to have long
eyelashes; otherwise, you might want to try
something else. Moving on.
3. The side kiss
Similar to the peck, the side kiss is a short kiss
that’s useful in public. When you’re standing
beside your spouse, holding hands in the grocery
store, lean in and steal a side kiss. It’s brief, but
it’s meaningful. It’s the kissing equivalent of a
wink. It says, “I like having you by my side.” The
side kiss sends a clear message to others that
the hottie standing next to you is taken. Don’t be
ashamed to share the side kiss in public from
time to time — especially in front of your
children. That shared moment is too sweet for
the world not to “oooh” and “ahhh” over.
4. The smooch
Ah, the smooch. You know what this one looks
like. On the spectrum of kissing, this one is
somewhere between a peck and a “grab-both-
sides-of-your-face-and-pull-you-in” kiss. The
smooch usually lasts about 5-10 seconds. It’s a
kiss that holds on a little longer. The smooch is
often used at airports when couples say goodbye
— or in cheesy films like High School Musical.
Sure, it’s a little over-the-top, but admit it. It’s
super fun and quite romantic. Next time you are
reunited with your spouse, offer a huge smooch
and whisper something sweet. It’ll be a hit.
5. The 30-second kiss
When it comes to nurturing your marriage, this
kiss is the most important. This is an “I never
want to let go” kind of kiss. An “I want to keep
kissing you” kind of kiss. You should share at
least one 30-second kiss (or longer) with your
spouse each day.
When is the best time for this kind of kiss?
ANYTIME. But it really works its magic when it’s
the first thing you do after being apart during the
day. The message sent by the 30-second kiss is
loud and clear: “I really love you. More than
anything or anyone else. I love you to the moon
and back — to the end of forever.”
If it’s been awhile since you last shared this
passionate kiss, go do it. Now. The 30-second
kiss is pure magic that will nurture your
marriage. It causes all kinds of chemical and
physical reactions that will leave you and your
spouse craving more of each other (which is
always a plus).
The bottom line here? Kissing is awesome. And
it’s super important in keeping love alive in your
marriage. So, go kiss your spouse. Seriously. It’s
one of the sweetest, truest and most effective
ways to say, “I love you!” |
A cool new service in Japan is meant to help
busy career women cope with the stress of their
hectic lifestyles. For about 7,900 yen ($65), they
can hire ‘Ikemeso’ – cute men – to wipe away
their tears, quite literally! Oddity Central reports:
Here’s how it works: You call the
company and pick one of seven
Ikemeso, who will then arrive at your
workplace to help you release stress
through crying. If you’re in tears
already, the licensed “crying therapist”
will simply wipe your tears away with
the softest handkerchief and comfort
you with kind words. If work-related
stress hasn’t pushed you to tears
yet, the Ikemeso will play an emotional
film meant to induce crying. After the
video is over, he’ll wipe your tears
away.
There are different types of guys you
can choose from, depending on your
taste – the little brother, the intellectual,
the bad boy, the slightly older hot guy,
and more. The service is all set to
launch on September 24. According to
Hiroki Terai, the creator of Ikemeso,
“Japanese women are under
tremendous stress at the office here in
Tokyo, which often ends in tears. We
are here to provide a kind word and
brush the tears away by one of our
seven lovely men on call.”
Some will undoubtedly find the whole
idea sexist, but Terai claims that the
company has been receiving queries
non-stop ever since they launched the
website last week. He also insists that
the service is not a hoax. “More and
more women are trying to hold down
professional jobs these days but the
male dominated, workaholic workforce
makes it hard for them,” he said. “We
want such put-upon women to have a
good cry and feel better when they feel
targeted.” |

YENAGOA -Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti
State and chairman of the PDP national
electoral panel, Bayelsa State yesterday
described Dr. Goodluck Jonathan former
president’s participation in the primary election
in the state as a “home coming” .
And Fayose went further comparing Jonathan
to Jesus saying that Jonathan, just as ‘Jesus
Christ did exactly to save souls’, gave it all.
He also said it was wrong on the part of
President Muhammadu Buhari to appoint his in-
law as the chairman of the Independent
National Electoral Commission, (INEC).
According to him, “A president took me out of
the government house by force and another
President gave me a leverage and a platform to
come back. To whom much is given, much
much is expected.”
Fayose, spoke during the Bayelsa PDP Primary
in which the incumbent governor, Seriake
Dickson, the sole candidate was elected as the
party candidate for the December governorship
election.
He said “My President and former President of
Nigeria, my loyalty is not in doubt. Forever and
ever I am your person and I remain your person,
when others fall by the way side, disloyalty,
consequences must come and we are
witnessing consequences of such in the
country.
“Those of them that left us they should learn a
lesson from what is going on. We will remain
here when you come back, we will remain in the country |
The ordeals Saraki is going through recently strikes me like something that have been cooked up the moment he turned his back on his party decisions. A lot of people have criticized the prosecution of Saraki in the past week but the question still remains: is this healthy for our Democracy? Why is the CCB bringing this up now knowing fully well that alleged corruption was perpetuated when he was governor. I am not against anti corruption crusade of the govt but the crusade should be in all facet of the economy |
The military chiefs have said a lot about banishing the Islamic sect and ending book haram but the recent recording on social media by the sect supposedly led by Abubakar Shekau, cast more doubt about the military claims. It would be a great relief on the government and the citizens if the military can actually put an end to boko haram once and for all. I trust the president and his team totally and I am hoping that Shekau's claim in that audio recording is not true. Long live the federal republic of Nigeria God bless Nigeria. |
I am concerned about the rate of corruption in Nigeria in I believe everyone should be too. The judicial system in Nigeria seems to be complacent to be mild on them. When u visit other countries where the government work, you can't but feel sorry for the poor citizens of this country. The war on corruption has yet to yield any result so far. A lot have been said about these two leaders over the years. We now know their leadership style, antecedence and precedence. Given the opportunity where your decision is final, who would you want to rule Nigeria between the two of them for the next ten years? |
He will surely get it right. Nigeria needs a very Strong willed leader like Buhari who would not yield to any pressure by these looters |

Very hillarious, but a nice step he has chosen to apologise on his wrong use of words. The Oba of Lagos, Chief Rilwan Akiolu, has finally issued a personal statement regarding his recent outburst where he threatened any Igbo who dared vote against his candidate with drowning in The Lagos Lagoon. The Outburst, which made waves on the internet yesterday, where the Oba threatened that igbos saying “if you don’t vote Ambode that i picked, you will all drown in the water”, has not gone down well with a lot of people in the country. But in a recent turn of events, the Oba has issued an apology to the Igbos and everyone offended by his tirade, blaming his actions on the popular Alcoholic drink, ORIJIN.’ In his statement, he said; “I want to offer my unequivocal apologies to the Igbo people for the things I said. I am sorry. I was drunk. I was drinking some Orijin just before the meeting. It was my 1st time, it was so sweet, I did not know it would be so intoxicating. I have ordered that all Orijin Bottles and Cans should be thrown into the Lagoon Instead”. |
A federal high court in Abuja has ordered the federal lawmakers to disclose the highly secretive constituency allowance paid to its members. Is Buhari a factor to this? Or are we just waking up from our slumber? A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECT OR SYCOPHANTIC |
If you did not see my column last week, it was because I did not want to rain on anyone’s parade. I wanted the euphoria over the bullet we missed by avoiding the riots that would have ensued had the APC been defeated to subside. But I am now back to tell you that the presidential election was a big INEC rigmarole. Long before Jonathan lost the election to Buhari, he had been defeated by the machinations of Jega and INEC.http://dailypost.ng/2015/04/07/femi-aribisala-how-jega-defeated-jonathan-for-buhari-in-the-election/ |
The Ebonyi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has alleged that the Peoples Democratic Party plans to rig the governorship and House of Assembly elections on Saturday. The Ebonyi APC Chairman, Ben Nwaobasi, said the party had received reports that result sheets of the forthcoming elections have been sold to the PDP by the Independent National Electoral Commission. Nwaobasi made these claims on Monday while speaking to journalists in Abakaliki, the state capital. He, therefore, called on security agents to investigate the matter, adding that it was capable of causing crisis in the elections. “We can’t allow a repeat of the National Assembly elections in the state and we are calling on security agents to prepare for the challenge ahead. “We heard that people have bought the results sheets for the next elections and we are watching them. We have alerted the whole world on this,” he said. Speaking on the preparedness of the party for the governorship and state assembly elections, Nwaobasi said the APC was poised to win the polls. He said, “Nobody should be given preferential treatment and we are calling on INEC not to be funny anymore. We cannot accept what happened in the National Assembly elections again; if it re-occurs we will fight it to the end.” Meanwhile, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Ebonyi State, Edward Nkwegu, had appealed to the party’s supporters not to be demoralised by the election results declared after the presidential and National Assembly elections, which gave the PDP victory in three senatorial and six House of Representatives seats in the state. Nkwegu stated that the LP actually won the NASS elections but alleged that some compromised staff of INEC, in collusion with the PDP, announced a different result. In an address, entitled ‘The Imperative of Vigilance and Steadfastness’, the Ebonyi LP candidate vowed that the party would recover its stolen mandate through the due process of the law, noting that documentary evidence had already been compiled. He challenged the security agencies, INEC officials and the citizens of the state to be vigilant in order to forestall such act in the April 11 governorship and state assembly elections, which he boasted that the LP would win once it is free and fair. |

The Resident Electoral Commissioner in Edo, Mr. Mike Igini, said on Monday that the National Assembly election for Orhionmwon which was cancelled would hold on Saturday, April 11. He announced the new date in Benin while addressing newsmen. It should be recalled that the March 28 National Assembly election was cancelled due to non-availability of electoral materials including result sheets. Igini said, “Quite a number of challenges which arose during the March 28 elections and were brought to our attention by the public have been acknowledged. “I will be meeting with electoral officers after this conference to review the outcome of the March 28 polls. “Lessons learnt will be used in planning for Saturday’s State House of Assembly elections.” Igini warned electoral officers against violating the commission’s electoral procedure. “The April 11 election is going to be more challenging because it involves representation at the grass root level. “As such a breach of electoral procedures would not be tolerated; reactions would be swift and immediate if there are any,” he stressed. |
