13 days to the actualization of Change in Nigeria
You cannot expect to achieve in 6 weeks what you could not do in 6 years.
Nigeria is now nearly bankrupt because the presidency is using all federal financial resources to hoodwink Nigerians- it will not work!

This is inhuman treatment of your citizens. You deserted these Nigerians for a year and you are now using them to score cheap political points? How dare you Sir?
The Minister that coordinated the sham/scam is still in employment in your administration and no one has taken responsibility for the loss of lives.
Nigerians will respond accordingly on March 28

Jobs/Vacancies › One Year After, Jonathan Gives Immigration Recruitment Victims Money, Jobs. by Collynzo419(op): 8:43pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
A year after pledging jobs to families who lost loved ones during a deadly recruitment by the Nigeria Immigration, President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday, finally, handed out money and appointment letters to the beneficiaries. Mr. Jonathan gave N75 million (N5million to each family) as well as employment letters to families of those who died in the botched exercise. Fifteen applicants lost their lives in multiple stampedes across job recruitment venues across the country, as hundreds of thousands thronged the stadia used as examination venues, to vie for the jobs. Despite the scandal that followed, as it became clear the Minister of Interior, Patrick Abba Moro, was behind the sloppy handling of the exercise, Mr. Jonathan has refused the fire the minister, a close ally of the Senate President, David Mark. A Senate investigation into the matter confirmed that Mr. Moro singlehandedly selected a company to conduct the recruitment, violating government rules. Worse, the firm, Drexel Limited, charged each of the more than 500,000 candidates, N1000, for the examinations they eventually did not write. Mr. Jonathan retained the minister and also refused to order that the money be refunded. The president merely cancelled the exercise and promised jobs to families of the victims. Even that pledge has taken a year and public outcry to be fulfilled. On Friday, each of the families of the deceased was handed a cheque of N5million naira each, while three family members were given employment letters. Speaking shortly after, Mr. Jonathan said the incident will never repeat itself. “I promise this country that such will not happen again. This will be the last of such things,” he said. Mr. Jonathan said the money given to the families of the deceased should not be seen as compensation because it cannot replace the lives lost. The Comptroller General of the Immigration Service, David Paradang, told journalists that out of the 45 candidates due employment beneficiaries, 10 had to be replaced because they did not meet the criteria of the service. He explained that some of them were shorter than required, overweight or over-aged adding that the families of the 10 were asked to bring replacement for their slots. He noted that some of those who are graduates were employed as Assistant Superintendent, those with National Certificate of Education, were employed as Assistant Inspectors, while those with the West African School Certificate, were employed as Immigration Officers 3. The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, said the government accepts the incident as an act that was not planned for. He said those wounded in the exercise will not be forgotten adding that they will be included in the second phase recruitment which is ongoing till May. Politics › House Of Reps Lambaste NOI And Madueke For Withholding Report by Collynzo419(op): 3:39pm On Mar 13, 2015 |
A member of the House of Representatives, Moshood Mustapha, has criticised the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and her Petroleum Resources counterpart, Diezani Madueke, for refusing to release the forensic audit report on the operations of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC. Mr. Mustapha, a member of All Progressives Congress from Kwara State, is the Vice-Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum Resources. The audit, undertaken by international firm PriceWaterHouseCoopers, indicted the NNPC and recommended that the national oil company refund about $1.48billion to the Federation Account for various unreconciled transactions. The investigation was carried out over claim that $20 billion oil money had not been accounted for the government-owned company. The Nigerian government has refused to make the report public despite public outcry. President Goodluck Jonathan only ordered the release of a “highlight” of the report early February, several months after the completion of work by PwC. Analysts believe the report contains far more serious indictment than reflected in the “highlight”, hence the government’s decision to keep the document under wraps as a crucial election approaches. In February, Ms. Alison-Madueke said the report will not be published ahead of the elections because Nigeria’s “rabid opposition” will find “all sorts of minute detail (in the full report) to create concern.” Mrs. Okonjo-Iweala and Alison-Madueke have refused to release the report despite a one-week ultimatum by the House of Representatives. Speaking to PREMIUM TIMES, Mr. Mustapha condemned the refusal to publish the audit report, describing it as “part of characteristic impunity that defines this government”. “A minister will feel she can do anything since she has a president that tolerates corruption or when she can go to the judiciary for injunctions to prevent the legislature from doing their constitutional work,” he said. “Even if she does not honour the ultimatum issued to her to submit the audit report, we could have asked the police to arrest her but is the police independent under this administration to act rightly? But then, we allow Nigerians to see and judge them. And that’s why change is imminent come March 28. It’s not about Sarakis, Buharis, Ameachis but Nigerians’ determination to stop impunity and misgovernance,” he said. He added that, “it seems to me as insanity when a government sees constructive criticism of the opposition as frustration. For me criticism from APC should make the PDP government more hardworking and do better in terms of governance, having had the consciousness some people are there to check them. Democracy as well as good governance is not possible without viable opposition,” Mr. Mustapha said the current setting of Nigeria’s petroleum industry is characterised by a lack of transparency and accountability. This, he said, denies the government and citizens “huge funds that should have been freed up for developmental purposes.” “The way it is nobody knows the quantity of oil we produce. Nobody knows what we earn daily, monthly or yearly. Nobody knows what we pay as part of our obligations in the exploration of crude oil. Nobody knows the account into which proceeds paid and in certain and transparent terms, what goes into the federation account daily. Apc is desperately trying hard to bolster his image and popularity again but even apc is dead broke now,no apc gov is ready to commit his state resources and money to buhari campaign any more ,they too have backlog of salaries to clear in their states .the whole thing is crumbling and in the midst of all this gej is getting stronger and stronger and he is winning back the people voices not the noise makers . Onatisi, you come to every thread that is about Buhari to repeat these same stale lines everyday. If you are so sure that PDP has won already, why the noise?
