I remember in 2014 when I was suddenly fired by an employer just like that without any credible reason whatsoever, after my commitment.. it really affected me.

I think employees should be protected from these sudden actions.

As a small scale employer now, I won't just sack my staff without any justifiable reason. Even at that I'll give them at least month notice

Unionism is voluntary for the staffs

Where the problem lies is when you sack workers because the joined union. Nigeria labor acts frown on that, one of the 7 critical pillars of UN ILO (Article 23 No 4) frowns on that

Is pengassan right to insist that dangote must allow his workers who are willing to join union join without fear of Victimization?

But I thought Dangote said his workers are free to unionize.. so why sack them?

From the look of events, I can deduce five outcomes:

- Atiku will likely become ADC flagbearer.

- Atiku will most likely pick Amaechi as running mate

- Obi may not join ADC, he can't contest primary with Atiku.. he'll look for party that'll hand him ticket..

- I don't see Labour party giving him the ticket ala carte.. Either contest primary or he find another party..

- Obi seems to be considering other "smaller" parties to run.
